We recently added a Fitness Forum, based on a suggestion by HumarockBride. The new forum has been getting a lot of use, which was great to see! Building on that success, we’ve been slowly adding forums one by one over the last week or so. Board posting is way up, and the new forums make the site feel cozier than ever!
All posts still show up on the main board, but now if you just want to read about flowers, you can click on the flowers tab to do so. Hopefully it’s made the boards more organized and easier to navigate.
We’ve recently added the following boards: beauty, bridesmaids, ceremony, diy, dress, emotional, favors, flowers, invitations, money, the lounge, reception, and waiting.
Emotional is a board where you can get emotional support from your fellow bees. The Lounge is the board formerly known as NWR, where you can hang out and chat about anything non wedding related. And the Waiting Board? That’s just for gals who aren’t engaged yet.
We’re going to need help making sure these new forums get going, and that’s where you guys come in! We’re looking for hive Hostesses to help make each forum a friendly, welcoming place filled with inspiration and advice for brides-to-bee. If you’re an insightful, personal, helpful, active member of the Weddingbee community, please find out more information about applying here!
I’ve received a lot of questions about what type of camera/lens I use, so I thought I’d share my secret to great pictures!
I have to admit that I’m a total poser when it comes to photography. Anyone can take nice pictures! And here’s how…
My camera: Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1 MP DSLR

Thanks so much for all your kind words on my hair and makeup! As promised, here is a list of all the products that Joyce used on me. I know I can’t recreate the exact look, but I can try and I did love all these colors on me.
I’ve bolded the items that I’m going to purchase, put a star next to items I already own, and put some commentary in italics. I’m particularly excited about the blush because I’d been wanting to try something other than NARS’ Orgasm!

My feet are wide but not long, so I often slip out of my pump style shoes when I walk. With the 30% off Foot Petals coupon we recently posted, I purchased a three pack of Heavenly Heels – you can see them adhered to the back of my shoes below.
What a difference! They’re super comfortable, and I’m no longer slipping out of my shoes. I just wish I had purchased more before the coupon expired!
PS - I first saw these shoes on sale at Endless for $55, but then I found them for $29.99 on Amazon! You can often find shoes cheaper on Amazon than Zappos, Piperlime, Endless (which is funny since Amazon owns Endless), so it doesn’t hurt to do a quick search!

UPDATE: Cat accidentally sent me unedited photos, so here are the edited photos below!

I flew in on the redeye from Los Angeles this morning! It’s freezing here in New York! But I’m glad to be back because I have so much to blog about!
While I was in LA I was supposed to have some headshots taken with Weddingbee PRO Amelia Lyon, but I ended up canceling the shoot (next time Amelia!). Since I’d already booked Joyce Luck to do my hair and makeup, and she lives 5 minutes from my parents’ place, I got my hair and makeup done for the LA Bee Meetup. I lucked out that the talented Cat from Next Exit Photography came to the meetup and took pictures! Prepare for Mrs. Bee overload…

EDIT: The new design is live! Thanks to everyone for your feedback. We’ll continue to make little tweaks here and there, based on your comments and on our collective experience using the redesign on the live site.
It’ll take a little time to make all the little adjustments that optimize the new look, so please give us a few days to sort it all out! And keep the detailed feedback coming!
————————
Ever since we launched Weddingbee PRO, we’ve been wishing we could redesign Weddingbee to have a wider look. It’s awesome having up to 600 pixels on PRO to showcase photos.
There was a challenge though: PRO uses a two-column layout, which means that the button ads from our sponsors end up lower on the page. (You can see what I mean on Weddingbee PRO.) Implementing that on Weddingbee wouldn’t be fair to our sponsors…
Still, we craved the wider look of PRO. So we brainstormed about it with a designer, got some feedback from our Bees, and came up with this:
It’s funny how the design has come full circle - the big bride in the upper left takes us back to our roots, as it’s very similar to one of our earlier designs!
I know I said the last site redesign was our hardest one yet, but this one was even harder! Still, I like that the new design is so simple… and that it evokes our old school design with the big bride. It was a sad day when we had to shrink her down, so I’m kinda excited to blow her back up!
What do you think?

On Sunday, we had a Los Angeles Weddingbee meetup at El Cholo Restaurant in Koreatown! Miss Meatball, Miss Glitter, Weddingbee PRO Courtney from Flush Designs, Cat from Next Exit Photography, and some amazing LA/OC brides all got together for Mexican and Margaritas.
Who: Miss Meatball, Miss Glitter, Mrs. Bee, Weddingbee PRO Courtney from Flush Designs and you!
What: Mexican and Margaritas for Sunday brunch
Where: El Cholo: 1121 S. Western Ave. (south of Olympic Blvd. in Koreatown, just off the 10 freeway)
When: 1/11 @ 11 am
Why: Why not?

Please RSVP on this evite, and check out this boards thread for more information. A table has been reserved under “Weddingbee”. Hope to see you there!
Please hop on over to Weddingbee PRO to say hello to our newest PRO, San Francisco based photographer Jerry Yoon! Jerry had the funniest application, and his passion for life and love translates in his photographs. Though he’s only been in the biz since 2006, I think he’s definitely going to be one of the next superstars in the wedding photography world!

We’ve featured Princess Lasertron’s gorgeous wedding and her hand crafted bouquets made of felt and vintage buttons several times here on Weddingbee. And now we’re super excited to announce that she’s the latest Weddingbee PRO to join the hive! Princess Lasertron is truly doing something unique and fresh and cool in the industry, and we think she’s a fantastic addition to our growing team.

Please go on over to WB PRO and help us wish her a very warm welcome! ![]()
What do baby animals have to do with weddings? Probably nothing. But they’re cute and isn’t that reason enough?
Please say hello to the latest batch of Weddingbee characters, piglet, mouse, duckling, joey, kitten, hamster, bunny, chick, and lamb!

We’re thinking about doing a generation of dog breeds, so we omitted puppy this time around. And wouldn’t joey be adorable for someone marrying a guy named Joe? Which one is your favorite?
We’re accepting applications for August 2009 brides, so apply to be a bee today!
PS - We’ve updated our Happy New Year post with some more Bee news, the biggest of which is that Mrs. Butterscotch gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on New Year’s Eve! Congratulations Butterscotches — we couldn’t be more excited and happy for you! ![]()
Recently, some blog comments have been showing up as from “Anonymous” even though the commenter is signed into Weddingbee! ![]()
Comments from these users are still showing up as signed in on the boards, so it sounds like only the blog comments are affected (and only for some users). This bug started a few weeks ago and we’re a bit stumped.
Our apologies to BeachbrideT, Sezzy, flbeachbride, LT1982, gabbydancer, mrshoneybun and Newport Nuptials… and any other affected users!
If this has happened to you, could you answer the following questions in the comment area below?
The problem with “anonymous” comments started a few weeks ago, and we’d love to get to the bottom of it. Please help if you can. Thanks guys!

2008 was a crazy, cool, wonderful, year for Weddingbee thanks to our superfantabulous readers, and our talentedawesomeblogariffic Bees. The hive celebrated so many milestones in 2008… won’t you join me in reminiscing?

A bottle of Veuve Clicquot that the sweet Mrs. Lovebird gave me for my birthday. New Year’s Eve! was the perfect occasion to open it!
Due to overwhelming popularity, we’re going to continue this ring shot series!

Elizabeth shot this with her Canon SD750. She planned her wedding in less than 4 months, and is getting married on January 24th!
