Centerpiece Idea

April 24th, 2006 @ 1:31 pm by Mrs. Ladybug

Mr. Ladybug brought home some of the left over flowers from our 2nd reception on Saturday so I decided to fool around with them a little and also took my bouquet apart as well. So purty.

I have a lot of cylinder vases left over and I know that some of you ladies were interested in buying my veil as well. I’ll be posting up a sale list of all the items I’m trying to get rid of as soon as I get all my shit together. Til then enjoy these lovely photos.

Oh and also before I forget, thank you EVERYONE for your warm wishes and just really sweet comments you guys have been leaving. I thank you all for the helpful advice and just being there for me anytime I had a question or just needed to vent.

I find it a huge compliment when I post an idea or something that I’m using and I see comments like “Thanks for the idea! I’m using it!” It encourages me to come up with more.

Love yas,
Ladybug

2nd Reception

April 24th, 2006 @ 12:02 pm by Mrs. Ladybug

We had our 2nd reception at Kum Gang San last night. The food was pretty good even though I didn’t get to eat that much. Mr. Ladybug’s mom looked really happy. Of course I started to cry again. There was one point where she was speaking on the mic and she was telling me words of wisdom and to not fight and just to love each other, etc… Then she turned to Mr. Ladybug and said things like try to be more understanding and patient and blah blah blah but it was the way she was looking at him that made me start to cry. Stupid tears! Why don’t you stay in the back like I told you to! I would say the night was pretty successful considering the fact that his mom was smiling a lot.

Afterwards we went drinking with some of our friends and then called it a night at around 1.

Anyways, as I told you before I procrastinated and booked my hair and makeup on Friday. I know! Bad Ladybug! Bad! So Saturday was pouring and then Mr. Ladybug dropped me off for my 2pm appointment. Let me just say this place is AWESOME! Not only did they try to fit me in even though they were fully booked, when I walked in first thing I see is a guy drinking a bottle of beer. I get approached by Aida who’s holding a platter of chocolate covered pretzels. Then she comes around a 2nd time with a platter of chocolate covered strawberries, grapes, and cherries. They had a platter of assorted bagels and spreads and then asked if I wanted something to drink. The choices I was offered were beer, wine, tea, or coffee.

So I sit and wait a little while flipping through a magazine and eating my chocolate covered friends. Everyone there was so nice and not kiss-assey nice but truly nice. I came wearing a long sleeve t-shirt so Aida was worried that I would ruin my hair later after I got home to change so they let me borrow a long robe which I have to return later this week. After waiting a short while Nicole started me on my makeup. They use only Bed Head makeup, which I never used, but Nicole did a great job.

Afterwards I waited a little bit and Davida (duhveeda) did my hair. She’s the owner of the salon, her mother runs the front desk, and her brother is also one of the stylists. So since I went with most of my hair down for the wedding in Philly I decided to try an updo for this one. I loved it.

It actually looks different later cause Nicole touched me up and changed my lipstick color and added false lashes. Photos of that to come later.

Ok so here’s where the story gets funny…

While I was up in the bridal suite before the wedding, Mr. Ladybug runs in and goes, “Hun! You wanna kiss at the end of the ceremony?”

“I’d like to. I think it’d be cute.”

So my mofo went downstairs and told the minister that we wanted to smooch. At a traditional Korean wedding you just bow to each other and that’s it. At the end of the ceremony he told us to bow and then it was over! WTF man? Where’s my smooch?! So Mr. Ladybug looks all confused, I’m trying to play it cool and whispering to him that it’s ok, and I see his mom trying to make eye contact with the minister while tapping her mouth.

ceremony5

By then it was too late. You see above how we’re walking down the aisle in the photo above?! That’s because the ceremony ended. Lil Hannah insisted that she escort us down.

We go down the aisle, get to the end and start to turn left to go through the double doors (this was all practiced during rehearsal) then I hear the minister asking us to come back?! I turn around my entire bridal is not there, all our guests are still standing by their seats just looking back at us.

dumdum5

WTF? and hun why you be steppin on my dress yo? I love Mr. Ladybug’s face in this. It’s like “I’m sorry, Como say what?”
So Mr. Ladybug and I walk backwards ’til we hit the aisle and then l lean back to look down the aisle and I see the minister beckoning us to come back. What in tarnation is going on?!

dumdum6

We get to the front and then the minister mentions that we wanted to kiss and he forgot to put it in the ceremony.

COULD THERE HAVE BEEN ANY MORE PRESSURE HAD IT BEEN A NORMAL WEDDING KISS?!

dumdum7

Da Kiss

I actually like it that it got messed up. A nice cute flava added in. So now it’s really over!

To All..

April 22nd, 2006 @ 1:37 am by Mrs. Ladybug

I forgot to mention to you ladies that I actually have a 2nd reception (that’s right you heard me) tomorrow in Queens. This is the day for Mr. Ladybug’s mom to shine. This is her party for her friends.

For you ladies who are planning on doing a Korean style wedding I’ll give you a review of the place. I gotta wear my dress again but I’m also wearing a reception dress. The dress is um…well I cannot put it into words. I will show you instead. Then you can rip on me and point fingers and talk behind me back. I figure this day isn’t for me. I had my day so whatever his mom wants goes.

I also booked a last minute appointment for hair and makeup today at Davida Salon & Day Spa. I spoke with an Aida on the phone and even though they’re really booked tomorrow she was very accomodating and sooooooooo nice. So nice that if I were a lesbian and she were a lesbian, I would marry her and think up of some way to mother her babies.

Photos for that to come later as well. Let me know if anyone needs help. I have A LOT of time now.

Ciao Bellas for now…I have another busy day tomorrow.

In A Secluded Alley…

April 20th, 2006 @ 9:30 am by Mrs. Ladybug

Til this day I still have no idea where we were when we took these but it was beautiful. It was like a secluded alley for rich folks. Works for me! The photos get funnier in the middle. I was hoping a cop would walk by and pretend that he was arresting us but it didn’t happen. I love these photos. We were all just being ourselves and just joking around.

My Sister’s Toast

April 19th, 2006 @ 9:43 am by Mrs. Ladybug

:Hannah & Susan:

hannah and susan

My poem for susan and ohps is below.

Some things you should know…

I really look up to sister number 2
Everything she did, I’d want to do
Susan, can I borrow your red stirrup pants?
Can you show me how to do that Erasure dance?
Can you show me how to talk to guys,
Instead of hitting them and making them cry?
And wow, how you artfully put toothpaste on your face
For the pimples that you wished to erase.

But if ever I tried to rebel against the queen,
How she suddenly to me would become mean,
I popped the head off her fake Cabbage Patch
She threw my own doll’s head at me yelling, “Catch!”

We fought a lot when we were little
Our mother was often in the middle
Trying to break up the fight
Sometimes using all her might
Punches, scratches, bites and bruises,
To each other we were abusive
But that is always what you will get,
With one bathroom, five girls, what did you expect?

I recall when young Susan ran from our dad
He said, “Bab bahlree moguhrah or you’ll make me mad!”
She said, “Make me!” and from the table she sprang
Next thing we knew he was spanking her goon-deng
Thank God it wasn’t me receiving that bruisin’
But without her rebellion, she wouldn’t be Susan.

Did you know the following about my sister, Susan Lee?
She does not like incense or potpourri.
She does not drink water ever, only soda and juice.
If you are late, she will accept no lame excuse.
Same size feet since the 5th grade.
She guilt cleans the house if my mother she disobeyed.
She does not like to be made fun of her height.
And taking her sisters’ things is her undivided right!

She fell in love with Andrew who was a bit of a F.O.B.
But it was her heart that he finally robbed.

He knows idioms like the back of his head.
He pluralizes everything he saids.
He dreams himself a fighter in the UFC
Fighting in front of you and me.
He hits the golf ball down the line
And turns bright pink when he drinks wine.
Those are not dimples but dents in his face
From when he fell down during a chase
And for the next 50 years Susan he will support
It’s too late now you can’t abort!

So now we welcome you Choong Ohps into our fam
Thank you for taking Susan off of our hands
My family and I embrace you with open arms
And welcome you to our crazy farm.

So now that I have wasted your time
With this really crappy rhyme
Thank you for all coming family and friends
It was nice to see you again!
And no matter what is your gender,
Don’t forget to tip the bartender.

Let me just say the bartenders friggin loved her. Both of them came up to me after the party and says “Hey which one was it that said that thing about the bartender in her toast?” I said, “Oh, hahaha that was my sister.” They said, “We fuckin love her!”
