When my oldest sister, Sarah, got married she made all the sisters bridesmaids. After the wedding was over, the next day we went to my father’s grave and left all 5 bouquets. It was kind of like a “Dad, wished you were there. It would have been awesome but we thought of you” type of deal.
When Esther, sister #4, got married she also went to visit my dad and left her bouquet there.
On Sunday, Mr. Ladybug went with me for the first time so that I could leave my father my bouquet. I could tell he felt a little awkward like he didn’t know if he should say something so he looked at my father’s grave stone, waved, and said “Hello!”
I did a little prayer outloud and then I started crying in the middle of it and Mr. Ladybug took over the rest of the prayer while holding me since I was sobbing like a little bitch. The sweet thing about this was that he doesn’t even pray. Thanks hun. This is why I love you.
I miss you appa. I wish you could have met Mr. Ladybug. You would’ve liked him a lot.
Wish you were there. I was thinking of you.
After Mr. Ladybug and I got engaged, the first thing I took care of was the bridesmaid gifts and OF COURSE I was going to have to color coordinate them to go with my color scheme cause I’m a crazy bitch like that. Here’s what I got them:
- A green tank top from Old Navy
- Green floral boxers from American Eagle
- A little notebook from Barnes & Noble
- A brown beaded shrug to wear the day of from Abercrombie (just in case it got cold)
- Pink pressed powder blush called Dandelion from Benefit
- A green & brown tote from Old Navy
- Flip Flops from Abercrombie to wear the day of just in case their heels started to hurt their feet.
- The Bridal Party set from Philosphy
I put all the gifts in a white box, lined the inside with pink tissue paper, wrapped it with left over paper and ribbon from the centerpiece project and put them in the tote and voila! I didn’t want to give it to them during the rehearsal dinner so I gave it to them before we went to bed in the hotel room. They loved it.
Because of the texture of the paper that we chose, Mr. Ladybug and I actually went to my work place at midnight to use the laser printer and didn’t get done till 3:30am on Thursday morning. I’ll post up our program later after I’m done taking photos of it.
Our Menu
Yes, Mr Ladybug’s “slave name” is Andrew.
Our Place Cards
One of the things that I did for the placecards for the flower girls was print photos of their favorite characters on the card. So Hannah had a photos of Cinderella next to hers and Josie had Blue (Blue’s Clues).
Our Table Numbers
I didn’t go with the flower idea I originally wanted to go with so yes, I decided to just go with table numbers to save time. But I incorporated Jane’s design she used for the invitations onto a few of them.

Our Itinerary
We did not follow this one bit. By 4pm I was like “FUCK the itinerary!” 4pm was when I actually got to the nail salon. (Click to enlarge)
Hi Ladies!
Ya missed me hooches? You don’t have to lie. I know you did. Stupids.
So Saturday Mr. Ladybug and I got hitched! Yay! The weather couldn’t have been more beautiful. I created an itinerary for our bridal party but I don’t think we followed anything on it. I loved our bridal party. Everyone was so funny and I just had such an awesome time being with them. Our photographers rocked. My makeup artist did an awesome job on my hair and face. Our maitre’d was so gangster I loved it. Our DJ played a lot of hip hop. Mr. Ladybug tried to break dance at one point…don’t ask. The flower girls were sooo friggin cute. Our friends all looked beautiful. It all really went by so fast and before you know it, it was over.
Pinky, Anna, and Hannah’s toasts were awesome. Pinky’s was short and sweet. Anna’s, I’ll get into Anna’s. Hannah wrote a poem with a slideshow behind her and she closed it with a little reminder to tip the bartenders in her rhyme. I think all the bartenders wanted to marry her.
I cried twice that day. First time was when I saw Mr. Ladybug for the first time in his tux. Everyone was down there with us. I mean the guys were standing behind him but I only remember seeing him all dressed up and he was looking at me in a way where I knew he thought I looked beautiful. I just lost it after that. Second time I cried was when Anna did her toast. We kept looking at each other and I just started bawling. Stupid bitch. Ruin my makeup. Minus 50 points for Slytherin biotch!
Mr. Ladybug recently was going through my wedding file and he came upon my wedding dress receipt. He was peesed but then he thought it’s already too late so what can he do? So during our after party we were by ourselves for a moment and he goes “If you could change one thing about today what would you change?” I was thinking for a good minute and asked him what he would change and he said “Nothing. I thought it was perfect.” Then I said “I know I went over budget on the dress but did I look pretty today?” He answered back “Omigod hun, I thought you looked gorgeous baby.”
AWWWWWWWWWWWWW! That’s right punk better recognize! Psych. I love him.
I’ll be posting up a couple of entries this week about highlights and details about the day. Hopefully I’ll get photos sent to me by our friends. I’ll also be posting my vendor reviews.
For starters, here are some polaroids that Mr. Ladybug and I took for our guest book with my vintage backdrop.
