I know a lot of you are planning on going somewhere sunny and tropical for your honeymoon. Hawaii (If this is you, I hate you), Tahiti (If this is you I really, really hate you), Bora Bora (Same shit, hate you), Fiji (Can you stuff me in your suitcase?), etc…
The hubs and I have been talking about Costa Rica and Belize at the end of this year. Til then, as you know, we are taking a mini vacation in a few weeks to Puerto Rico (HO) which means bikini time! I love bikinis! Especially really cute ones! Every spring I search the web for new swimsuits. I have about 5 bikinis but I only wear 2 - one by J. Crew and another one by Onda de Mar (which is one of my FAVORITE swimsuit designers).
Ok so here are the 2 that I wear:

Here are the 3 that I don’t wear: (Citrus / Pursuit / Pan Dulce)
Here are 3 that Mr. Ladybug wears: (Abercrombie / Hollister / Ralph Lauren)

Hahaha ok I just threw Mr. Ladybug’s in cause I thought they were cute. The one at the bottom he bought on sale ALL BY HIMSELF. The reason I say ALL BY HIMSELF is because he picked out swimming trunks once ALL BY HIMSELF and they were ok. *coughfuglycough* Did I mention that I have a cold? That’s why I’m coughing. *coughitwashideouscough* Whoa nelly! Maybe I need some Robitussin?
Anyways it’s the beginning of a new summer which means I want a new swimsuit! La~ These are ones that I found that I thought were cute. I just ordered the 2nd one, Pretty Paisley. I’m still on the hunt for a great green print bikini so if you see one let me know! You know how I feel about GREEN!
Onda de Mar: Be Delicious

Onda de Mar: Pretty Paisley

Paper Source seems to carry a great collection of rubber stamps and most of them are under $10.

Hello!
I still have a lot of cylinder vases left. Let me know if you need any. You would have to come by and pick them up in Jersey City.
1. 10 1/4″(16 left) $3.00 each
2. 10″ (9 left) $4.00 each
3. 9″ (5 left) $2.50 each
4. 7 1/2″ (4 left) $1.50 each
5. 6″ (15 left) $2.00 each

I have a bunch of bridal magazines if someone wants them…for FREE! None of the pages were ripped out of any of them. I was going to throw them out but I thought maybe someone could use them. Local only and you would have to come to Jersey City to pick them up or I could meet you by the World Trade Center Path Station. If I can’t get rid of any of these maybe I’ll have a sidewalk sale?

I’ll even throw this in. This cost me $11.00. I didn’t even realize how much it was till the girl rang it through and there were like 13 people in line behind me.

Michelle Doll makes beautiful cakes. Just the fact that she used to work with Ron Ben-Israel is enough to convince me that she’s probably a perfectionist when it comes to the art of cake making.
Every petal, every jewel, every ribbon and decoration is hand made from sugar paste. Although they are edible, the sugar objects found on Michelle Doll cakes are tastier keepsakes and will last for years to come. With her background in graphic design and pastry arts, Michelle will match anything from your dress lace and jewelry to your favorite golf bag or shoe and have it taste as good as it looks.

You know you gotta throw in that “Ho” after saying Puerto Rico. It’s a must really.
As you know me and my hubs, we is po folks now after the wedding so we wanted to financially recover before going on our honeymoon. I really don’t recommend this. If you can afford it, go on it asap! Otherwise you will suffer…like I am. The hubby noticed that I’ve been stressed so he planned a mini vacation to hold us over till the honeymoon. Sweet huh? That’s why you’re my numero uno!
So July 12-16! I can’t wait! I love the beach! I love the sun, and the salty air, and the warm sand in between your toes, and the smell of coconuts in your tanning lotion… We really needed this. Thanks babe! I love you.

We had reader Ariel write to weddingbee about her wedding shoes. She wants to spend under $100, she would like them to be 2 inches, and she would also like a shoe that she can wear after the wedding.
Easy! I love researching shoes! What girl doesn’t love a nice pair of heels?

The peony stamps come in 3 different sizes, each ordered separately. Yes they were featured in Martha Stewart but I never got to see them. I actually found these stamps through a knottie bride that Miss Dragonfly featured a while back. You order the stamps by phone, but their site is Stamp Worx 2000. A lot of their stamps are featured on Martha Stewart.
The Thank You stamp I bought at Paper Presentation for almost $7. The ink pads you can get anywhere. I bought the shimmer pink one at A.C. Moore and the brown one at Paper Presentaton.
If you’re interested in ordering stamps from Stamp Worx, make sure you follow up with them. They can get them out to you pretty quickly. I think the guys that answers the phone is the actual owner - he sounds like an older gentleman. I was supposed to get them a few days after ordering them, but he forgot. When I called back a week later to see why I hadn’t received them, I had to replace the order because he didn’t remember me calling. He seemed nice though, so be nice. They have a really great collection.
Holy frozen monkey balls! Silverback gorillas to be specific. Our computer virus is still there, but for the past 2 days our internet was down? What the hell? It’s always something new every friggin week! *le sigh* I HAVE HAD IT UP TO HERE (I know you can’t see here but I’m holding my hand up pretty high) AND I AM probably not going to do anything about it cause I’m a lazy bitch. haha…
Anyways I have a treat for you ladies today. If you haven’t noticed, I have not posted up anything on thank you cards. That’s because I haven’t done them and it’s now been almost 2 months since the wedding. How late is too late? I have researched this question. My sister went to her friend’s wedding and got a thank you card 3 months later and she thought it was a little late.
I searched online and someone got married and hadn’t found the time to do thank you cards till a year later and was wondering if she should still send them out. HELLS YEAH HEIFER! These people took the time out and saved this date on their calendar to spend that special day with you. If you don’t send a thank you card and acknowledge your guests’ generosity, they will think that you’re an ingrate. Me, personally, I couldn’t care less if people didn’t send me a thank you card but you can be sure if I ever got into a tiff with the girl later on I will bring that shit up in a heart beat. I can picture it now:
The bride who never sent me a thank you card: I can’t believe you told my husband that I was pregnant! I told you I wanted it to be a surprise!!!
Me: OH YEAH?! Well YOU never sent me a thank you card!!!!!!!!!!!
I would totally win that one. Hands down!
Ok so the point is, no matter how late it is, just send it out…yes, yes even if it’s a year late!
I just bought my thank you card supplies and yes it’s another DIY! Woohoo! Someone give me a high five! Anyone? Anyone? Hello? ….or don’t. Whatever.
So I went to Paper Presentation on Tuesday with Anna and bought 100 plain folding cards and 100 plain envelopes (4bar, I think the color was Duchess Felt? Anna help me out here).
Here’s the plain card and then….

…Bam! I stamped the front with my medium sized peony stamp (With Flash)

Without Flash

Then I stamped it again with my small peony stamp.

Then I stamped it with a wam bam THANK YOU ma’am.

And last, I stamped the envelope with the medium peony stamp in chocolate ink.

Somebody spank me!!
Anyone? Anyone? Hello?
…or don’t. I’ll ask the hubs to.
Question to you gals, I know it’s not wedding protocol but is it really such a big deal if print the cards instead of writing them? I hate writing by hand! I mean do you think it’s that big of a deal to the guest? I haven’t followed everything by the book. I am not a protocol type of girl when it comes to certain things. After Mr. Ladybug and I got home from the wedding we threw out the top cake layer and said eff it. Who wants to eat cake a year old? We’ll just buy cupcakes or something. I can hear some of you gasping in horror. Hahaha… I can actually picture some of your faces and it’s making me laugh. Hahaha…
I know. I’m still posting up wedding photos. That’s because I haven’t shown you everything yet. So don’t get your panties in a bunch. God, I cannot wait to go on our honeymoon at the end of this year. I do think we need a vacation now though. The negotiating for that didn’t go very well.
Mr. Ladybug: I think my honey is in need of vacation. What do you think?
Me: *sigh* I think yes.
Mr. Ladybug: Wanna go to Puerto Rico?
Me: Yes! How many vacation days will you give up?
Mr. Ladybug: 2
Me: Then how many days can we go on our honeymoon?
Mr. Ladybug: 8!
Me: No deal!
Mr. Ladybug: Why does it HAVE to be 10?!
Me: Ok hun, this is not like one of our regular vacations. This is our HONEYMOON! We should have it be 10 days and I’m thinkin that’s the minimum.
Mr. Ladybug: Ok fine.
Hahaha….yes, I do need a vacation but not if it means shortening our honeymoon time. Oh hells no! We can always have vacations but our honeymoon is a once in a lifetime trip. Don’t you think? So till then I am willing to suffer for however many months.
Moving right along…Here are some photos that we took behind the Philadelphia Art Museum.
I forgot to mention the shoes that I wore at my wedding.
Guess
I got mine from Guess a while back - I’m talking last year. I bought these for my best friend’s wedding when I was one of the bridesmaids.
$64.98 (originally $90) / 4.25 inch heel
Bridal Party Shoes
Chinese Laundry
Wesley / $59.00 / 3 inch heel

Nine West
Accolia / $49.99 / 2.5 inch heels
I can’t for the life of me find a photo of my sister Hannah’s Banana Republic shoes. Her heel was actually a lot shorter than the other girls. Here’s a photo our photographer took.

Um, How cute is this? It would be nice to go with your future hubs and make these to wear on your wedding day. You can wear a necklace or bracelet with his fingerprint and he can wear cufflinks with your fingerprint. Such a cute idea.

While on our way to the wedding this past Saturday, I looked out of the passenger window and saw a nice florist shop. So I immediately whipped out my pen and my dry cleaning receipt (I had no paper!) to write down the website info that was printed on their awning.
As a bride, the first place I hit for my research is online baby. The web is a beautiful thing. The first thing that catches my eye is if a site looks dated - then I don’t even bother going through the rest of the site. Like if it’s a site that looks like it was created when the internet first came about. The second thing I look for is photos, photos, photos! The more photos the better I say! This site has beautiful arrangements. It’s worth checking out.
Some arrangements available for purchase online.
