This post has been a loooong time coming. I had a lot of… concerns about writing about this issue, but I really think I need to share my experience, so here it goes!
With 21 days left until our wedding, Mr. Bunny and his “buddies”, as he likes to call them, took off for his bachelor party. They spent Friday night at a campground in southern Ohio and then moseyed on down to Athens to spend the day in his old college town. From what I heard, it was a rollicking good time!
While Mr. Bunny was away, I took advantage of my privacy to work on his wedding gift.

I found Weddingbee sometime during the summer of 2008. A friend of mine was planning her wedding and had started her own wedding blog, linking several popular wedding blogs — including Weddingbee — in her side bar. I read posts here and there for months.
I have to be honest, after clicking over a couple of times, I was kind of scared. Everyone seemed so CHEERFUL and FRIENDLY. And at the time, I was struggling pretty deeply with anxiety and depression following the death of my grandfather and my sister’s move to California. Cheerful and friendly was a total turn off.
But then something funny happened … I started taking meds, and I started liking Weddingbee! I was astonished by Mrs. Avocado’s DIY chandelier. I was inspired by Mrs. Cherry Pie’s rustic nuptials and impressed with Mrs. Cookie’s gorgeous gown.
Soon enough, I didn’t remember what it was like before I loved every single bee!

Looking down at my left hand is making me sad today because there’s no pretty wedding band there! I feel as though I’ve been downgraded from wife to fiancee!

The reason I’m having to go without my wedding band for the time being is a little complicated.

I was going to save this post for later, but a tweet from Mrs. Peony this morning has prompted me to seize the day and share some of our wedding day deets!
I’d never seen the trend of having photobooths at weddings until I started reading wedding blogs, but I was immediately taken with the idea. I love getting my picture “drawn” at those dinky photobooths they have at Chuck E. Cheese, so what could be better than a wedding photobooth?
Of course, my first choice would have been to rent a booth, but with a $5,000 budget for the whole wedding, that was completely out of the question. My photographer didn’t offer a photobooth option, either, so I was out of luck for a booth like Mrs. Robin’s.
My tech skills aren’t the greatest, so I knew setting up a booth with a digital camera and printer would be a job for my dad and/or teenage brother. Unfortunately, my brother had some serious health issues come up in the months before the wedding that kept my family occupied from March until mid-May. Then preparations for his high school graduation were in full swing and, well, all the projects my family had promised to help with kinda fell by the wayside.
Faced with having to work on the fauxtobooth by myself, I decided to go the simplest route possible. Read more…

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming of the Bunny Bridal Countdown to bring you a PSA on makeup.
Because only Mrs. Bunny would interrupt her recaps to talk about makeup, right?
By now you probably know that I’m a proponent of what a good makeup brush can do for DIY makeup.
Specifically, I’m speaking of a nice, round, compact blush brush. I do most of my makeup application with my fingers, I admit. But there’s just no substitute for a good blush brush. They’re designed to glide over the apples of your cheeks and distribute a nice, even coat of powder up toward your temple.
Personally, I use the Mary Kay blush brush, but that’s only because I used to sell Mary Kay and had a couple brush sets left over. Read more…

When we last left our intrepid heroine, Miss Bunny was having a major meltdown over her seamstress’ prediction that her dress couldn’t be altered to fit.
The dress was much too tight. It fit fine when I bought it of course, but I’m the type that gains weight when I’m stressed out… and believe me, wedding planning stressed me out!
Then-Miss Yorkie, only a week away from her own wedding, offered to send her 30-day Shred DVD in an effort to help me lose a few pounds. The gesture was mostly symbolic, though. I used the DVD once — and nearly passed out. Yes, I am tremendously out of shape. Don’t make fun! It was very serious and demoralizing at the time!
My mother and I spent the weekend looking for a replacement, but the only one we found that would fit was this number from David’s Bridal. Unfortunately, it was way out of my price range. On top of that, I only liked it. I didn’t love it. Read more…

Once again, we’re back a month before the wedding — June 5, exactly four weeks before our wedding date! Because I was a newly chosen bee, I took advantage of the time I didn’t have to spend blogging in order to buckle down and get some things accomplished. First up: my dress.
I purchased my dress from Midwest chain Wendy’s Bridal on a whim. Read more…

Mr. Bunny and I are still without internet at our new place, so it’s been tough to find time to blog. We don’t have a TV, either. Except for our cell phones and constant drone of talk radio, we’re disconnected from the outside world from the moment we leave work for the day!
One upside to Stone Age living has been that it’s given us plenty of time to spend paying attention to each other and our relationship in the first few weeks of marriage. We didn’t live together before the wedding, so the past two weeks since the honeymoon were our introduction to what it’s going to be like from here on out.
Honestly, it’s awesome being married. We both LOVE coming home to each other every night, and because we’re each enjoying ourselves, we’re nice to each other (most of the time). It’s been a self-perpetuating state of wedded bliss thus far.
That’s not to say that we haven’t had some difficult moments — because we definitely have.

Hi, I’m Mrs. Bunny, formerly Miss Bunny. Remember me?
Thanks for all the well-wishes, positive thoughts and prayers you sent our way for our wedding and honeymoon.
Not everything went according to plan, but everything was absolutely perfect. I mean that with all my heart. It was everything I hoped it would be, and more. (That’s not to say that there aren’t some things I would do differently if I had it to do over again, but that’s another post!)
Instead of starting right in on my recaps, I’d like to take you back in time with me. As much as I’d love to show you the gorgeous photos from our wedding (and yes, I do have them already! Our photographer works at light speed!), there are still so many plans and back stories to share in order for you to understand what kind of miracle took place in order for our wedding to go as smoothly as it did. Please be patient! I promise we’ll get there!
In the meantime, I’ll leave you with one – just one – teaser photo from our wedding.

Right now I am sitting in my parents’ kitchen getting my hair done. You might be surprised to hear this, but I didn’t have any trouble sleeping last night (once I actually got into bed, of course). We’re actually doing this. We’re actually getting married today!
There were so many times when neither of us was sure this would actually happen. But you know what? With every doubt and every uncertainty, you were there standing by my side, holding my hand. And knowing that you’ll keep on being there that same way after we’re married is one of the many reasons why I’ll say ’I do,’ today.
I’m so glad I get to spend the rest of my life with you!
Love,
Miss Bunny
P.S. Thank you, hive, for being there for these final weeks as I stressed and planned and stressed some more! Weddingbee saw me through the whole engagement process. It wouldn’t have been the same without you!

Three days from now, Mr. Bunny and I will be married!
Life has been insane the past couple of days. Sunny Bunny brought her Australian boyfriend home and hosted the Bunny bachelorette Friday night. My family moved me out of my apartment and into our condo in about 3 hours flat on Saturday. Sunday night I took a break and chatted with the hive on Bee TV until my mother forced me to hammer out the rehearsal dinner guest list. And now I’m here at work, still plugging away on everything I need to get done so that I can go on our honeymoon next week!
When everything just seems too overwhelming and I feel like I’ll never get it all done, I close my eyes and imagine our wedding: the lovely details, the decorations I’ve been dreaming up for months, and most importantly (in fact, so important that it makes everything else seem completely insignificant), me and Mr. Bunny, standing in front of all our friends in family, promising to stick together through everything life throws our way.
Of course, images like these are extraordinarily helpful in getting me to that zen state:

I never thought I would have an outdoor wedding. I knew that the thought of rain would stress me out and that the logistics of planning an outdoor event – especially a summer one – would overwhelm me.
And yet … I couldn’t get the image of an outdoor wedding out of my head. Mr. Bunny and I didn’t have a church we called home at the time, and my parents’ church, for all its lovely architecture, has orange carpet from the 1970s. Not exactly in line with our color palette.
Somehow, I managed to convince myself that the possibility of rain was small in July and that all we really needed for an outdoor ceremony was chairs.
I could rent chairs, couldn’t I? That couldn’t possibly be very difficult.
Of course, that was before we had completely settled upon our budget. Renting chairs for 200 people for less than $400 was a little bit harder than I had anticipated—but only because my expectations were so high!
Visiting the websites of the rental businesses that our venue coordinator gave me showed that it could be done IF we were willing to get plastic and metal chairs. Read more…

After my makeupseriesran, I decided to purchase a couple of the popular products I’ve been hearing so much about — Dior Blackout waterproof mascara, the Nars Multiple in Orgasm, and a lipstain.
Sunday night at 8 p.m. EST I’ll be on BeeTV live to review the products, take questions and just hang out and chat.
