Welp, like Miss Cotton Candy’s, our wedding invitations are late, late, late. Just how late they are depends on what you consider the Must-Send-Them-Out deadline, but I’ve also been getting some Facebook questioning, so I figure I must be tardy. Our wedding is seven weeks from Saturday. They’ll probably go out by then, so it’s not TOO bad, but our RSVP deadline is June 1. Oh, well.
Anywho, while I finish these suckers up, I thought I should start talking about the road that led to them. I have been absolutely obsessed with wedding stationery since before I got engaged, so I can’t even tell you how many inspiration photos I have saved on my computer. It’s a lot.
Before I knew that I was going to tackle the stationery on my own, I wanted these:

I loved the colors, and thought digital printing seemed like a great option. I really didn’t care about letterpress and didn’t understand why anyone would pay so much for something that limited your color options.
I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to write this post. Worst blogger ever. I’ll be better once I get these damn invitations out, I promise! (And then I can post about the invitations—wahoo!)
Anywho, two weeks ago, Mr. Panther and I had the pleasure of attending an awesome, awesome party at bridesmaid Jess’s house. The fact that this party was for US only added to its awesomeness. Remember this post, featuring a frigging amazing fringey invitation in a kraft paper envelope? Well, if you thought the invitation was incredible (I did!), wait until you see the party itself.

Bridesmaids Jess and Mary Alice, my two craft-spirations, worked their butts off to make the prettiest decorations and yummiest food I have ever seen/tasted. Seriously, it’s like they climbed inside our brains, pulled out all our favorite things and hung them from the rafters. Look at this!

Our wedding is a little more than two months away (HOLY SHIT), and I can’t wait to marry Mr. Panther. I mean, I’ll be honest—a great deal of that is because I am so sick of all the pressure and just want this wedding to be DONE—but also, I love this man and I’m ready to start our lives together as a married couple.
Mr. Panther and I have a great relationship. Sure, we fight and scream and threaten to kill each other from time to time, but that’s normal, right? Right?! Regardless, our relationship is solid. I’ve never had a moment of doubt. I knew from the first time I kissed Mr. Panther that I wanted to spend my life with him, and that has never changed. Mr. Panther feels that way now, but he wasn’t always as certain as I was.
When Mr. Panther and I met, I was 19 and he was 20. Just babies.

THINGS. ARE. HAPPENING.
I don’t know how it happened, but the Panther wedding is now 11 weeks away and, uh, I’m not ready. I have so much more to do! Last weekend, I finally squeezed in my first dress fitting. It was…uneventful. In fact, it was scary how easy it was. It makes me nervous when things are too easy.

Hey, y’all! I know you already thought I was crazy for deciding to move into a new place three months before the wedding, but guess what! I’m even crazier than you thought!
Yesterday, we brought home our latest bundle of love—a puppy!

Her name is Macy, and the shelter said she’s a Sheltie/Cavalier King Charles spaniel mix. When we asked our vet what he thought, he shrugged and said, “Sure, maybe!” So really, she could be anything.

You guys, I have the best bridesmaids. While my MOH Alisa is hard at work up north planning my bachelorette and BM Leah is booking plane flights to fly all over the country to see us (from her current home in Texas), BMs Jess and Mary Alice are here in Atlanta whipping up these beauties:

I don’t have many wedding updates because I haven’t had time to work on any projects, so will you guys settle for a post about online shopping for bridal event outfits? Please? OK, good—here goes!
Following in the Panther wedding tradition of booking things waaaay in advance, my mom booked the bridal shower location last summer, even though it’s not until this June. And of course, I bought a dress immediately. Surprise, surprise!
I didn’t go into Anthropologie planning to buy a dress—in fact, I very rarely buy clothes at Anthro. I find that I always look too short in their clothing, which is weird, because I’ve seen ladies shorter than me really rock it! But anyway, I was in there with BM J-Dawg (who loves her some Anthro and looks good in everything she tries on), and I spotted what seemed like the perfect bridal shower dress.

Dress via Anthropologie
It was a whitish shade, not too dressy but not too casual, feminine and floral. Exactly what you’d expect the bride to wear for a brunch shower, right? Plus, it fit like a dream. It was on the longer side, but I figured this ensured that no one would see up my dress while I was opening gifts. I ignored the fact that it was, well, not at all my style.

… That’s the wedding train, which just keeps on coming, even though I would really like it to slow down for a minute!
Hive, I’ve been such a bad blogger, and I’m so sorry. I can’t complain about being super busy, because I’m the one who decided to move three months before the wedding, but I have to say, it’s been NUTS! This past weekend, we did the official move, and now we’re working on settling into our new place. My wedding dress and shoes were among the last items to make the trip over in my car—I just couldn’t bear to put them in the moving truck!

Whew. It’s officially spring, you guys, and so far, spring is CRAZY for the Panthers.
We’re moving into our new place on Saturday, so we spent this past weekend painting a few rooms in the new house. I love color, so I’m excited about it, but man, was it a lot of work. All that work resulted in my hands looking like this the night before we went shopping for wedding bands:

YIKES! I don’t normally have totally dainty hands, but they do NOT usually look like five purple sausages sticking out of a smushed tomato.
Mr. Panther’s hands were all jacked up, too, but we had to get the ring shopping over with.

Hey, guess what!
I got another wedding accessory! (Well, actually, I got three, because I couldn’t tell which one I liked best on the internet, but I’m returning two of them, so …)
Can you tell what they are?

It’s sequined, zippered lingerie to wear under my dress!
Ugh. You guys, I thought when we finally found Mr. Panther’s suit, the groom apparel dilemmas would be over. But of course, I was wrong. Wrong, wrong again.
Mr. Panther still needs shoes. And I thought that would be easy. He just needs something stylish, formal and streamlined. Ideally, a black leather wingtip oxford with a slightly squared toe. NBD, right?
These are the shoes shown with the Theory suit on the Bloomingdale’s website:

One would think, since they’re on the Bloomingdale’s site, that Bloomingdale’s sells these shoes. This, unfortunately, is not the case.
Guys, I feel like I’ve been a bad bee lately, and I’m very sorry. I’ve only been posting once a week at best, and that’s not enough! I have an explanation, but it’s not an excuse.
See, it all started a few weeks ago, when I fell in love. Falling in love with someone other than your future husband can really screw with the wedding planning process!
Don’t worry—it wasn’t with another human. It was with a puppy named Chickie:

Yesterday, hive, the heavens parted, the angels sang, the sun shone … Mr. Panther finally got a wedding suit! Hallelujah!

Let me back up a moment to explain how we got here. As I explained in my last suit-related post, the store where I got my gown said they could order a slim-fit Hugo Boss tux and give us a discount on it. Unfortunately, the tux they had in their catalog (the “Stars/Glamour“) was slightly different from the Hugo Boss tux that Mr. Panther had tried on and loved (the “Aikin/Hollo“). The manager said she could try to get the Aikin/Hollo and that she’d call us after she’d spoken to Hugo Boss. For the next month, I heard nothing from her.

I wonder if I should try Kanye’s Workout Plan.
I’ve been fairly active my whole life, but I go through some periods that are better than others. When I was 13, I started joining my parents at the gym. Just like them, I did a half hour of cardio and a half hour of weights. Ah, if only I’d kept that up.
I continued visiting the gym throughout high school, but when I got to college, I very quickly learned that the Freshman 15 was not a myth. I was too busy partying and eating pizza for every meal to exercise, and before I knew it, I was the heaviest I’d ever been.
I can’t believe I’m about to complain about Atlanta winters (it was 62 degrees today! in February!), but man, this one feels like it has just stretched on foreeeeever. This is my third one since moving from Boston, and I feel like each one has gotten progressively longer. I am so ready to get outside! I’m also desperate for a doggie to share the fresh air with, but Mr. Panther says NO, so I’ll just have to strap Josie and Bela into their harnesses and hope for the best. Anyway, that’s a topic for a different post.
Since full-on, straight-up springtime is still at least a few weeks away, the best I can do for now is daydream about our honeymoon. Mr. Panther and I actually booked it back in August! We planned to use frequent flyer miles, and our travel agent said “the sooner, the better,” so we just went ahead and did it. Our agent is going to be watching for sales until July to make sure we get the best deal possible. P.S. - Did you guys know that travel agents are FREE?! From what I hear, they can’t always get you a lower rate, but they can harass the hell out of your resort to make sure you get the exact room you want, and they’re on-call all the time in case your flight is delayed or something. Very useful services like that are generally not free. I like when they are.
