Normally, I procrastinate like a pro. But for some reason, I’ve completely turned that around when it comes to wedding stuff. I have this obsessive need to finish things as soon as humanly possible. It’s probably anxiety—the thought of hitting the wedding day without everything done is terrifying to me—and also lots and lots of excitement. So what this all means is that I’ve already done a lot. And we have lots of catching up to do!
The first priority for Mr. Panther and me was our venue. We really, really wanted to get married on Cape Cod. We both spent our childhood summers there, and my family still has a cottage in Wellfleet, where my aunt had her wedding a couple years ago. Unfortunately, when we looked into the logistics, it became very clear that it just wasn’t a good idea. The Cape is packed in the summer, and most of the hotels jack up their rates and insist on two- or three-night miminum stays. The traffic is nuts. The venues are pricey. It just wasn’t going to happen. I shed a few tears, and we forced ourselves to move on.
Goodbye, Cape Cod wedding! *sob*

I have to admit it: my “How I Met Mr. Panther” story is really not very romantic. And because a large portion of our first encounters were during nights of college shenanigans, it’s also not very detailed. Honestly, it’s all a little fuzzy. But it all worked out, right?
One winter day during my freshman year of college at Northeastern in Boston, I had a really nasty cold. My aunt and uncle had come up to visit me and their son/my cousin, who was in his sophomore year at Berklee, and the plan was to stop by his dorm to pick him up. I looked so gross and was really hoping we wouldn’t run into any of his friends—I was in a relationship at the time, but still didn’t want to meet cute musician boys while looking like Rudolph.
Unfortunately, several of them showed up. I kept my head down and prayed none of them would look at me. I vaguely remember being introduced to a couple guys, but I was too horrified at my appearance to store any of them in my memory. Apparently, this was the first time I met Mr. Panther.

So, I was going to kick things off with a “How-Mr. Panther-and-I-Met” story, but as I was writing it, I realized it was really long and a little bit boring. I’ll still get to it eventually—these things are important, after all—but I thought it would be cooler to start with something a little more fun. How about our color palette? Woooooo!
YOU GUYS! I’m a bee! This is insanity. I’ve been stalking following Weddingbee since before I got engaged in March, and have been counting the days until I could apply. I can’t believe I actually got accepted! Dreams do come true, people.
My little Josie-cat doesn’t usually like to wear her bee costume or her bee hat, but she agreed to put on both for this very special occasion.
