Last Saturday I attended the most beautiful, delectable, joyful shower ever! It was so much fun, and to my amazement, it was all for me! My mom’s dear friend (Auntie J) and my bridesmaids planned every perfectly pink detail.
When I walked in, my SIL greeted me with a smile and placed a flower in my hair. She did this for everyone who entered and collected recipe cards in a box for me to take home. You can see all the hair flowers below!
The girls ushered me into the kitchen to see the display of mini cheesecakes, cream puffs, cookies, and chocolate-covered strawberries. Auntie J placed a gorgeous corsage on my wrist. I loved it! Read more…

As I mentioned before, I had trouble deciding how to package our invitations. You’ll see in this post that each suite had a different belly band, and I used a variety of envelope colors. Ridiculous? Um yeah. But our invites looked so pretty bundled in silver and white; and so cheerful and spring-y in yellow and pink. It was like wrapping presents (I love wrapping presents!), and I had fun making each set a little different.
Now onto the eye-candy!
The hard part of the process was choosing the envelopes for each type of bellyband—I still wanted them to match! Read more…

Our invitations make me smile for three main reasons:
They have bunnies on them.
They are pink and white, my two favorite colors!
Other people made them. And they made them awesome!
I did not have to lift a finger to work on these until we received them in the mail—designed, printed, and cut to perfection. Here’s what arrived at our doorstep!
The main invitation, all dotted and swirled:
I asked for a variety of thick and thin swirls but never would’ve imagined them looking (and feeling!) this amazing.

Hello, all! Sorry for being ridiculously MIA lately. After our spontaneous move and all of the resulting craziness, Mr. Parfait’s work treated us to a much-needed vacation! We spent a week under the sun in Costa Rica and just flew in last night. When we walked into our condo, we suddenly remembered all that we had left behind. Namely, this:
The week before we left was extremely stressful and sprinkled with a few all-nighters. Our goal was to finish our invitations before we flew off, and it seemed like the closer we got to the finish line, the more obstacles appeared. To be honest, we really had the easy part—my cousin Julie designed every piece, The Aerialist Press printed them, and our families finalized the guest list. So what kept us up ’til the wee hours every night? Read more…

Just months ago, Mr. Parfait and I figured we would pass up on the whole wedding registry thing. We weren’t sure if our old-school Korean/Serbian families even knew about registries, and we didn’t have a place of our own to furnish anyway. Well, friends, all that has drastically changed.
I am a registry machine!
Heehee. You see, after being hounded by our relatives (who have apparently been to enough American-style weddings to know all about this stuff) and settling into our lovely-but-empty condo, we decided to set up registries at Macy’s and Crate and Barrel. It was slow-going at first, but after being in a few locations of each store and checking out the online process, I got totally hooked! Look how much fun we had at Macy’s recently:
We attended one of their registry event nights, so they had snacks and drinks prepared for us. Read more…

The mister and I knew we wanted to live in the heart of Chicago after we got married, so we decided to start looking around. On our first and only day of apartment-hunting, we came across THE perfect condo. Mr. Parfait made an offer. They accepted; he signed the papers; we started packing.
“Packing?!” you say? Yep, we decided to move in right away—it was way too beautiful and exciting to ignore until April. It was a two-week process from choosing the place to moving in. It’s been a whirlwind, and it’s not over yet!
Wanna see our new place? This is one of my favorite parts:

As mentioned in the title, moving was an adventure. The two of us took turns in ambulances and emergency rooms for injuries that were out of our control. Don’t worry—we’re doing just fine! Here’s the short version: Read more…

I tried to narrow down my floral inspiration pix. Really, I did! It’s just that… I have so many. And they’re all so beautiful.
My auntie called yesterday to schedule an appointment to talk about my wedding flowers, and she asked me to bring some pictures. I wonder how many qualifies as “some”… ‘cuz there’s a lot more where these came from! I’ve narrowed it down to the following photos.
For my bouquet, I would love a giant, yummy-smelling fluffball. Key word being fluffball.
We could add light hints of our wedding colors—pink, orange, and yellow: Read more…

I have special plans for our dessert table. Like most, it will be filled with yummy treats in bright colors and cute, bite-sized morsels. Unlike most, it will include goodies like this sweet, pillowy, candy-colored delight. Can you guess what it is?

Every Christmas since I was a little girl, I’ve made my parents and brother a collage of things I want (and definitely do not need). It started with My Little Ponies and Lisa Frank stationery and has progressed to this crazy thing you see below. I would stop, but they ask for it every year, and who am I to keep secrets?
(It’s slightly embarrassing how greedy I am. I’ll comfort myself in knowing this was two Christmases ago, and I’ve scaled it down since then. Kind of.)

A while back, the ladies at my dress shop said a veil designer was having a veil show at the shop, so I made an appointment to try on my dress with all different veils. My BFF, my Auntie J, and my brother’s family came with me, fully expecting a veil show. It was not a veil show.
Let me preface this by saying: I love my dress shop. It’s one of a kind and altogether lovely. It took me a long time to write this post, because I don’t want to write anything negative. In order to make this negative experience into a positive, I’ll tell you what I did in this situation, and what I should have done to make it a better situation.
I put on the sample of my beautiful dress, and the sweet shop owner introduced me to… well, let’s call her Ms. Veil. Ms. Veil was the veil designer, but she didn’t seem interested in veils. Instead, she was really adamant about me purchasing some of these:

The perfect words to describe our honeymoon. Post-wedding, we will be in Hawaii for 12 sunny, beachy, pretty days! My future in-laws, who also honeymooned in Hawaii, did a great job of convincing us to go. Here was their reasoning:
“It’s the perfect excuse to go! And you may never have another excuse.”
“Don’t you want to relax after all the wedding excitement?”
“We wanted to stay there. To live forever. We’re serious.”
As if I needed convincing—any vacation with water, sun, and sand works for me!
Mr. Parfait and I decided to spend half of our time in Maui and half in Oahu, to get a taste of more than one island. I chose a low-key, cost-effective resort for our days in Maui and left Oahu up to Mr. P.
Before you think I am the most self-controlled honeymoon-planner ever, please know that this was a strategic move in my “Yes to Turtle Bay!” campaign. Read more…

A sneaky peek at our invitation design! It’s just a little one. Don’t get too excited!
Mm mmm, swirls and dots and stuff…
As you can see, our entire invitation suite will be pink. I love it, and it’s cost-effective to have only one color since we opted for letterpress (squeeeee!). However, our other colors are grievously absent. I posted this inspiration board before, but just as a reminder, our complete palette includes bright yellow, pink, and orange: Read more…

My bridesmaids and I started our dress-search with some dreamy ideas about floor-length, flattering, altogether fabulous gowns. We went to a shop and tried on three hours’ worth of dresses. We pondered our choices for weeks, and I started to feel like we’d never come to a final decision. Just as time was running out, we made a last-minute trip to my bridal shop. We started another round of dress-up (and pass-the-dress), and much to our relief, everyone found The One for them! Which means I can finally show you The Look for my bridesmaids!
The Dresses: I wanted the girls to choose dresses they liked, within the “pink and floor-length” parameters. We ended up with four different styles in five shades of pink. I can totally see each lady’s personality in her dress—my BFFs loved the same strapless ruched dress, but my more outgoing bud chose a brighter hue, while my strawberry-blond bud tried on a million pink dresses before we found a shade that looked perfect against her skin tone and hair. My always-elegant SIL chose the goddess-like, one-shoulder gown in the middle. My future SIL is the youngest, and her dress actually looks the most innocent and sweet. The last dress is sassy and bright, exactly what Mr. P’s tomboyish SIL wanted for a night of dress-up! All of the colors look different in person, but this gives you a general idea:

My fantastically talented cousin, Julie, is designing all of our stationery, and she recently sent me some invitation designs. I was floored. They’re gorgeous, and I cannot wait to show you what I chose… but you’ll have to wait until after I send them out! I know, how cruel. In the meantime, I’ll give you some clues, so you have a notion of what they’ll be like.
She combined many of my stationery-related delights, including bold color:
