Our first dance is a high priority for Mr Piglet. So much so, he wants to wake up at the butt crack of dawn, walk to the beach, and practice our moves… everyday. For the record, it didn’t happen this morning. But he did last Sunday (by himself), and practiced his steps for a solid half hour. WOW. My jaw dropped when he told me this. He’s really serious!
All this dancing talk prompted me to (finally) search for the perfect pair of dancing shoes to go with my beloved dress! In case you forgot, I am the third owner of this twice-loved dress. The length is a wee-bit long, but some higher heels should do the trick to bring it up a notch.
So that was the first requirement, the heel height. No wait. I lied. The first requirement was that the shoes were to be yellow and have rosettes! I love rosette adornments! and they must have an ankle strap! Basically, I wanted the same shoes as Weddingbee Pro, Chelsea Petaja.

My latest obsession is Photoscape. When posting pictures, I do my best to resize and touch-up photos to make me look better than I do in real life. Being the total amateur that I am with Photoshop, it takes me what seems like forever to do anything! With Photoscape, resizing and quick touch-ups are a cinch!
Within the Photoscape Editor, resizing can be done with two-clicks:
1) Click on the resize drop-down menu
2) Specify the pixel for the longer length. Voila! How easy and quick was that?! Read more…

Meet my birdies! They’re such hotties. Last week, I headed home to Virginia for my b-party festivities hosted by these lovely ladies. I should have known this was going to be the mother of all bridal showers based on the invitations I received weeks ago. But I had no idea… NO IDEA… how crazy and balls out they went.
I have such a hard time expressing in words how special these ladies are to me. Simply put, I love them and I really didn’t deserve all that they did for me that day. They did a phenomenal job with the Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed shower! So much thought was put into the celebration, with no detail overlooked. Read more…

Before getting engaged, (admittedly) I was one of those girls that perused the internet shamefully looking at pictures of weddings galore, thinking of ways to somehow incorporate those beautiful details into our wedding someday. But it was never the wedding gowns, or floral centerpieces that I swooned over… no siree…
It was all the beautiful paper products the brides (and grooms) created themselves! If you couldn’t tell already, I’ve delayed making decisions on reception decor, all things floral, ceremony details, etc., and channeled all my energy into the invitations for the past month. Way to go, Piglet! But DIYing invitations was near and dear to my heart, so the Mr let me be. I assured him I would handle those other details… later… and I guess later is now.
Anyhoot, I experienced my first lows of wedding planning during the invitation printing process, and also felt the ultimate high after hearing the compliments from our parents and a handful of guests on a job well done. Handful meaning 2 or 3, and that was enough for me!
And here they are folks! The invitation suite includes the ceremony/reception announcement, a trifold with information on wedding week activities and driving directions to the ceremony, and finally, the reply card. Pretty straightforward, yah? I can hear my family in Hawaii appending ‘yah’ to all of their sentences in their pigeon accent. I love it!

Mr Piglet and I hugged it out last night after finally finishing our wedding invitations! Seriously. I’m talking bear hug, two feet off the ground, ‘OMG we’re done’ kind of hug. What a relief to finally drop these in the mail. I have a new found respect for anyone who takes on this sort of DIY project. There are so many components, and if you lack attention to detail (*ahem*… ME), you’re bound to make some careless mistakes. For all you DIY invitation gals…
While the invitations are en route, I’d like to share the sources of inspiration for our invitation suite. And there were many. It was TOO hard to settle on one idea, so I used them all. The thought did cross my mind that our invitations may resemble a Crayola color explosion, but thankfully, they turned out A.O.K. Read more…

My roomie walked through the door with two shimmery envelopes in her hand. Yay, they’re here! I have been itching to see these bad boys ever since my mom called me the other day telling me how gorgeous the bridal shower/bachelorette party invitations were. All courtesy of my bridesmaid, Hojo. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… and again… and again, and again… girl got skills!
Here’s the envelope. My jaw dropped when I saw that she Zazzled the stamps. She used one of the pictures from our e-Photo session with Inhar. What a nice personal touch this adds! It makes me want to do them for our invitations. I know for me, this sort of personalized touch would warrant a place in my collection of invites I’ve held onto as keepsakes from friends’ weddings.

For him! I’ve been asking around for stylist recommendations so that I can trim my bangs once more before the big day. Selfish me. It never occurred to me that Mr Piglet had the same thoughts about his ‘do for our wedding. Not so much the bangs, but finding someone who can fade the sides and trim the top, while avoiding the cowlicks that have ensued as a result of so many of his past cuts.
So, what to do when in search of a good cut for my man? Turn to Yelp, of course! After a quick search, I came across Tel’s Barber Shop in Santa Monica. The reviews were stellar. They all raved about the family owned business run by Tel and his two sons. We wouldn’t have to worry about avoiding the one barber/stylist that does a sub-par job. Nope. They’re ALL good!

Happy Friday! Wedding planning is on pause as of late. Mr Piglet and I decided to take a road trip… across the country… to LA… forever. Yup, we arrived this past Monday after 4 days overloaded with quality 1-on-1 time with the Mister.

After much reluctance, I sized down my engagement ring. The ring, as-is, too often rested at the tip of my knuckle on the verge of falling off. It did once while we were vacationing, so Mr Piglet insisted we visit our ring master at Quest Jewelers, Huan, to size it down. Quest Jewelers is a family owned business run by Huan and his brothers. Do you have certain vendors that are used and abused within your circle of friends? Well, for my circle of friends, it’s Huan. Thinking about it, I can name three people this past year that have gone with Quest for their ring purchases. Huan worked with Mr Piglet to custom design a ring that satisfied all the Cs, plus the fourth and most important C according to Mr Piglet, cost.

Mr Piglet and I are on a mission to find a slim cut suit for his small, yet buff, frame. I will be the first to admit, I know absolutely nothing about suits - the terminology, styles, armhole positioning, etc. Nada. I care to know as much as he cared about the neckline, silhouette, and bodice of my dress, to be honest.
My two-cent contribution was that he consider other suit colors aside from tan. I have no qualms about tan suits. With our wedding being an all day event, I’m just worried he’ll spill something like our friend, Dr Ko, did last year. Hindsight is 20/20, and eating noodles with black bean sauce (jja jang myun) in between the ceremony and reception probably wasn’t such a hot idea.

‘Tis the season to get engaged! And Sunnie has a beautiful ring on her hand to prove it. As you’ve probably seen from past brides and bees (including yours truly), Filene’s Basement ROTB is all the rage. Sunnie and I are heading to Filene’s this Friday to try our luck at finding her dress. I’m not the aggressive type, so thankfully, we’re going after the morning stampede.
Check out the prep tips from the ever-so-lovely, Miss Latte, and please learn from my experience and resist the temptation to pig out on multiple dresses. Yesterday was my pathetic attempt to sway Sunnie into wearing one of them. Mission failed, but we did get some cute pictures of her trying on her first wedding dress! Congrats girlfriend!
Excuse the mess! Spring cleaning is well underway!

Helloooo Sunnie! This is Sunnie as Madonna last year on Halloween. She is my high school buddy, freshman/sophomore college roomie, and lifelong skin adviser. Her skin is flawless. I’ve seen her sans makeup, and her skin is like a baby’s tush. I hate her!
I’ve never really followed any sort of skin care regimen aside from washing my face and applying moisturizer. As of late, it’s becoming apparent that I need some sort of skin intervention. The crows’ feet around the eyes, and happy wrinkles lining my mouth are becoming more evident. I’m more prone to breakouts. And it’s definitely not wedding related considering I haven’t done squat in the past month. My skin is dry and flaky… and the list goes on.
Sunnie wrote me an email this past week detailing her nightly de-facing steps, and I’ve decided to give it a shot, considering her routine is 6 more steps than what I normally do.

Meet the Lady Piglets … handsome bunch, don’t cha think? While all of the groomsmen are geographically scattered, the majority of my ladies (minus Canada) are still at our home base. When deciding on bridal attire, I loved the idea of different dress styles for each girl, in the same color, with flowy material. David’s Bridal seemed like the logical choice with the plethora of style options in their collection. AND, I fell in love with one dress from the get go for my MOH, otherwise known as Sister Pig.
Meet Sissy, my best friend (unfortunately she refuses to reciprocate this title for me), confidant, and our model for this session.
Dress #1. It’s fun, flirty, forgiving, and simply fabulous! Since the back wall is painted yellow, the color is a bit skewed. So, I posted the model picture alongside sis. You’re welcome Sissy! Read more…

I fell victim to the bang craze (multiple times) over the past couple of years. I was that girl who brought in a picture of Reese Witherspoon’s bangs, and told my stylist to fix mine to look like hers. The picture below is evidence that twisting and cutting sections of your bangs doesn’t look so hot. But lately, I’ve been itchin’ to pull out the scissors once again. I’ve resisted so far, but my hair is the longest it has ever been, and it is disgusting.
I know I want to wear my hair up with side swept bangs (professionally cut) for the big day, but I’m having a hard time picturing it since I’ve never really glammed up my hair in an updo. For my own peace of mind, I decided to book a trial session, even if it is only 2 days before the wedding. In the meantime, I toyed around with the InStyle Hollywood Hair Virtual Makeover to get a feel for different styles on my face shape… like these bangs… Read more…

I have ADD-ish tendencies. For instance, I have four postings in draft status, all partially written. Co-workers often complain about my inability to stick to one subject, and claim they’ve felt symptoms of vertigo when I present virtual meetings and alt-tab between five windows at lightning speed.
Wedding planning is no exception. I wish I could tackle tasks in a chronological order, but there’s no rhyme or reason as to what I’ll dedicate my time to. This weekend, I decided to think about our guestbook. I’m a huge fan of Polaroid guestbooks and wish trees (much like Mrs. Lemon’s), so my initial thought was to create wish cards with a place for guests to slap their photos.
When I first saw the PoGo, my ADD kicked in and I began thinking about sticker pictures and how much I love them! I wish I could say that the sticker pictures below are from back in the day when we were teenyboppers; but no, they are from last year. This is why I indulged in my PoGo purchase without thinking through how we would set up this gadget for use by our guests.
