Mr. Pinot Noir and I have been looking for unique ways to remember the people that will not be able to celebrate our wedding with us. We have chosen three ways to honor those who cannot be attendance.
I particularly wanted to honor my grandmothers (one passed away in 2005 and the other is too sick to travel to the wedding) and my uncle who passed away last summer. In their honor I will be adding photo charms to my wedding bouquet. This way they will be with me all day and then I will be able to save the charms as a keepsake (as I do not plan to save the bouquet). I talked to my florist and she thought this was a wonderful idea and doesn’t believe she will have any trouble incorporating them into the bouquet. I will use a photo of each of them from the day of their wedding.

On June 28th Chris Kattan and Sunshine Tutt (model) were wed at the Chateau Du Sureau near California’s Yosemite National Park. Their ecofriendly event included the following elements:
- Transportation to the site was a hybrid car
- Guests were provided with biodegradable heart-shaped rice after the vows
- Invitation and RSVP cards were made with wildflower paper to “represent all of the people we love,” according to the bride
- The menu was organic and local
- Distributed an environmentally friendly gift bag (reusable totes from My Bag Cares) stuffed with $1,505 worth of natural and organic health and beauty products! Read more…

My favorite movie between the ages of 10 and 13 was Dirty Dancing. I think I must have watched this movie over 200 times during this three year period. I thought Patrick Swayze was the most handsome man on earth and I loved their summer romance and forbidden love! Mr. Pinot Noir and I started dance lessons last night and all I could think was “Spaghetti Arms” and “Keep that Chin Up.” Read more…

Choosing our wedding invitations was a really difficult task. I wanted something that was eco-friendly, simple and affordable. To me, eco-friendly meant finding an invitation that was made of recycled or tree-free paper, used soy ink and was produced by a small business (or some combination of the three).

Let me start by saying that I love Mr. Pinot Noir so much and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him! He is good at so many things! When I look in the refrigerator and see nothing, Mr. PN pulls together the most delicious meal. When I’m scared to death to drive in bad weather, Mr. PN can take over and drive like a true professional!
That being said, one thing Mr. PN is not too good at is posing for nice “couple” pictures. You know what I’m talking about! The photo that your grandmother will frame, your parents will put on the refrigerator or you’ll bring to work to show all your coworkers. Mr. PN is much better at taking crazy, funny, not-looking-at-the-camera pictures. Read more…

Last month Mr. Pinot Noir and I traveled to Los Barriles, Mexico (on the southeastern tip of the Baha Peninsula) to celebrate FBIL (and Best Man) Pinot Noir’s wedding. This is the first wedding we have been to since our engagement. It was so interesting to attend a wedding now that I am planning my own. I’ve never been so interested in the order of the processional, the table display or the napkin colors!
The trip got me thinking about lots of wedding details that I needed to get going on including our invitations, wedding bands and music selections.
For now I will leave you with some wonderful pictures of a beautiful Mexican wedding.

The summer before we were engaged, Mr. Pinot Noir asked me what I thought of him wearing a kilt at the wedding. Wow! I did not see this coming. While I never really had a clear vision of what our wedding would look like, it definitely did not involve kilts! I always imagined he would wear something like this:

Mr. Pinot Noir and I occasionally talked about what my engagement ring might look like. We went to look at engagement rings together a couple of times during the first year we were dating, but I never told Mr. Pinot Noir about any specific design that I wanted. My only requirement was that it not be too big! I don’t wear a lot of jewelry and I wasn’t comfortable with the idea of having a large or flashy ring.

Mr. Pinot Noir and I just returned from a wonderful weekend in Northern Minnesota from a couple’s wedding shower that my sister-in-law hosted for us. The event was not your traditional wedding shower, but an informal outdoor BBQ at my parents’ home. Since we are having a destination wedding, our family friends and extended family will not be able to celebrate with us in California. The party was absolutely wonderful and it was so much fun to see family, friends and neighbors. I promise to post pictures soon!

Mr. Pinot Noir and I had been dating for more than four years when he finally popped the question. We were in the middle of moving from Washington, DC to New York City. It was our first official day living in NYC… It started off as a fairly uneventful day. We went for coffee, went to our new gym, and looked at a few apartments for sale in our new neighborhood. Then we decided to do something very “touristy New York” to celebrate our first day in the city. Mr. Pinot Noir suggested that we go ice skating at Rockefeller Center. Neither of us had gone ice skating in many, many years but we decided to give it a try!

Miss Pinot Noir here! First let me start off by saying I am so EXCITED to be a member of the hive. I’ve become a true Weddingbee addict in the last few months and I can’t wait to get to know everyone.
Mr. Pinot Noir and I are busy planning our wedding in Northern California. We will tie the knot in October 2008 while overlooking the beautiful Napa Valley. Just like Miss Green Tea, my Wedding Bee character is the perfect match for our wine country wedding.
Mr. Pinot Noir and I recently relocated to New York City from Washington, DC. I work at a non-profit providing health education for people living with cancer, and Mr. Pinot Noir does market research for a magazine. Our wedding will bring together our passions and unique personalities as we celebrate our love and our life together. I consider the environment in every wedding decision while Mr. Pinot Noir relishes in tradition and elegance. Needless to say I will not be walking down the aisle in a hemp dress and there will be no vegan eats at our luncheon reception. Follow along with me as I plan an eco-friendly and socially responsible wedding in disguise.
