Before I show you pictures, I want to give you a list of the order we had people walk down the aisle. I know when I was planning our ceremony, I spent a lot of time thinking about what the most logical way to get everyone down the aisle would be. Here we go:
Bride’s Mom and Step-Dad
Groom and his Mom and Grandmother
Groom’s Dad/Best Man and Step-Mom
Groomsman and both MOHs
Groomsman and Bridesmaid
Groomsman and Bridesmaid
Groomsman and Bridesmaid
Bride and Father
I hope this helps for all the brides currently planning their ceremonies! OK, lets really get this thing started. And now for some very cheesy ’90s music: Read more…

It was time to take some photos with all the people that love us and were there to celebrate our special day with us.
Let’s start with my awesome bridesmaids! And more specifically, my two lovely maids of honor!
We started off with a simple stand-in-a-line photo and it’s a great pic of all the ladies’ different dresses. Read more…

Where did I leave off? Oh right, we were dressed and ready to head towards our first look!
Our photographer sent his assistant to position Mr. P under the arbor at our ceremony site with his back turned to wait for my arrival. God, he looked sexy in that tux!
And I may have been sneaking a peek. I hadn’t seen him all day. I was very excited to be reunited and get this day started! Read more…

It was finally time for my beautiful bridesmaids to put on their dresses and for me to become a bride! This part of the day is definitely told better by pictures, so here we go! (This is a super heavy picture post.)

We opted not to have a wedding planner or even a day-of coordinator from the beginning. We knew we’d be able to do it ourselves, with the help of family and friends, and didn’t want to spend the money.
Setting up was a bit of a challenge since it was still pretty windy outside and we weren’t completely sure it was done raining for the day. But everyone quickly banded together and got things done.

The morning of the wedding I woke feeling at peace with the world. I know most brides wake up excited or wake up nervous. I felt neither of those emotions—just peaceful. I don’t know if it had really sank in yet that I was getting married that day. This is where the day starts to become a blur.
I hopped in the shower and then my sister and I finished organizing everything that needed to be moved to the venue. We waited for the rest of the girls to arrive so we could head to the salon to get our hair and makeup done.
My awesome Co-MOH, Leesa, offered to pick up breakfast tacos (yep that’s right, two days in a row!) for everyone and she brought the fixings for mimosas, too!

We were only one day away from the big one at this point. What better way to start the day off than with some delicious breakfast tacos?

The week leading up to the wedding was actually pretty relaxing. I had it in my head that I’d have all the last minute details already taken care of by the time my mom arrived the Saturday before the wedding (except for the cake, of course). I’m here to tell you that is not how it worked at all. Yes, I had most things taken care of, but the inevitable small things popped up. Still, all was handled or delegated and everything was finished.
The day my mom arrived, my sister/Co-MOH, Sarah, my mom and I even had time to squeeze in a visit to Scare for a Cure’s Zombie Wasteland. Seriously, guys, if you’re ever in Austin around Halloween you have to check this out!

Simply put, I heart my photographer big time. I know I’ve shown y’all some of his amazing work with our engagement shoot and my boudoir shoot, but I swear, he just keeps getting better and better. I’ve been waiting to post this until I got my recaps back. Well, I’ve got them (which means recaps are a comin’), and they are fabulous!

I chopped my hair all off. I followed bees and hive members of the past by participating the Post Wedding Chop.
If you recall, I did consider cutting my hair off before we even got to our wedding day. But wedding day ’do indecisiveness changed my mind at the time. However, as soon as we returned from our honeymoon, I was off to the salon to get a new ’do.
I absolutely love it. You see, I’m a serial hair cutter. Every year I grow my hair long (usually to about the middle of the my back) and then cut it up to my chin. I’ve been doing this ever since middle school. The problem is that usually I hate my haircut (and miss my long hair) for the first week or so afterward. That was not the case this time. I sprung for a slightly more expensive salon and, voila! Cute hair!

I’m gonna be a wife by 6 PM today. Holy crap, that’s weird.
It’s 11:45 PM right now. I just got home from the rehearsal dinner which was awesome! I (ahem) just have to finish the wedding cake before I go to bed. God…why did I save it ’til the last minute? I was organized, I swear. This week just flew by.
I’m so ready to be married. When we were practicing tonight, Mr. P kept sneaking little smiles at me. I think he’s ready too.
I know I haven’t had a whole lot of time with the hive, but I want to thank everyone for showing me their support and love in the short time I have been around. Thank you for sharing your honest opinions with me and inspiring me to make my wedding the best that it could possibly be. I appreciate it more than you know. And to the bees, I love y’all. Thanks for making me want to be a bee. I’m so glad I got this experience. Read more…

So we’re now two days away from gettin’ hitched. TWO freakin’ days! And I’m here to tell you that when people say the last week before the wedding is crazy, it really is. It’s not a lie. It cannot be overcome. At least I couldn’t do it.
I don’t mind the craziness. I actually thrive on chaos. But I did think this week would be a breeze. I’ve been checking things off my to do list since last August in hopes that this final week would be cake. Literally. I wanted to only have the cakes to worry about this week.
Yeeeaaahhh…not so much. So what exactly have I been doing all week? Running to eight million stores (some more than once), baking cakes, buying presents for ushers and parents, decorating cakes, cleaning, going out to dinner with family that has arrived early, oh, and trying not to go insane.
This week has been packed with weird wedding dreams, fear that it’s going to rain on our wedding day (currently there’s a 40% chance) and only one slight breakdown after a batch of icing didn’t work out. Read more…
