I didn’t just sew, paint, cut, hot glue, and assemble. I did this:
I baked tons and tons of cupcakes, cake-balls and mini cupcakes. To be exact:

I know, it sounds crazy! But after reading Mrs. Sprinkle’s adventures baking her own vegan cupcakes, I though it could actually be fun! So I talked to her and she gave me a few thoughts about when to make them! Even though I was a little intimidated by the idea, I proceeded to plan and BAKE! I LOVE baking!

… That was what everyone was asking me the week before the wedding. Yeah, I knew I needed to finish my dress.
As I shared before, because of my little boobilicious problem, I decided to tear my dress apart and make it a little more comfortable. After all, I was planning on dancing until sunrise.

While brainstorming with my FIL about what we should do with the top of the door on our outdoor chapel, he came up with the idea of hanging a window right above the French doors. I loved the idea!! He suggested that maybe we could paint the window and keep it in my office as a keepsake of the day. He really got me with that one!
I asked one of MIL’s friends that is a great glass artist to paint it for me, and she was very very happy to help us. But sadly she got really sick so I came up with a backup plan—I made a template and painted our window with MARKERS!
Unfortunately it’s not everlasting because we tested the markers on a piece of glass, and after 2 days in direct sunlight it faded to the point that you would never even know that the marker was there. Read more…

As I shared earlier on in our planning, I had a hard time with boutonnieres because Mr. Poodle told me over the phone that he didn’t want flowers at all.
So, I researched for inspiration and found some cute clover ideas (He asked me to incorporate clovers into our wedding to honor to his Irish background). After a while I was sold on the idea of making fabric clovers for the guys, so I got all my supplies and before I got to work I told Mr. Poodle how hard find inspiration for bouts that didn’t have any flowers. He laughed and told me he was just kidding and he would wear whatever I wanted! — What? Umm, Yeah I guess it was harder for me to figure out when he was teasing me over the phone.
So here they are: The Poodles’ non-floral boutonnieres. To make them I used green satin fabric, a few sticks and some tiny pine cones that one of my MIL’s friends found while walking around the lake. Read more…

When I was still in Chile I finished 2 (my MOH’s and sister’s) of the 4 dresses for the bridesmaids, so with half the work done I didn’t feel so pressured with this particular task, but with only 2 weeks until the wedding, I realized I should have started way earlier!!
By this time I wasn’t even done with my wedding dress transformation and I was starting to worry. So, I called my bridesmaids so we could do a super fast dressmaking session.
I started drawing patterns for the 2 different tops, and the girls tried them on. After they approved I cut the fabric and started assembling them.

My first idea for the sign on the main road to the ranch was kind of different from what we ended up doing. The idea was to have us holding balloons so our guests could see the road from far away, and then including little poodle-shaped balloons directing guests where to go from there.
I ended up liking what we came up with better than my original idea!
For this project I had help all the way from Switzerland from my favorite cousin, Hector! He wanted to help me in some way, so I asked him to draw Mr. Poodle and me for our Save the Dates, but due to bad timing we ended up not being able to use the sketch and instead just included a picture of our legal ceremony. A long time ago I showed you all the beginnings of our cake toppers: wire, clay and lots of love! but I actually HAD to finish them! Since back them we still didn’t know exactly what we were going to end up wearing, I waited until the week before the wedding to finish them, with the help of one of my MIL’s friends. I used fabric from my dress to finish the bride and painted Mr. Poodle’s character.
Our idea for the cake topper was for the bride to be up on the top of the cake holding a rope, while Mr. Poodle would be climbing up on the side. Now, without further does, the pics!

Even though you will not see these projects in our wedding recaps, I thought I should mention them because we did spend LOTS of time on them.
First: the lost project. Sometimes when prepping for your wedding you lose track of some of the details, especially if you do a ton of DIY. So the day after our wedding I found this in a bag:

I have to say that the last 3 days I felt higher levels of stress than I’ve ever experienced in my life, and I don’t think we could have done it without all of the help from our family and friends. They didn’t just help us build our own chapel, they went above and beyond that. Read more…

Things have being pretty busy at the Poodle house, and not only here, but our venue (Mr. Poodle’s grandparents’ ranch) is also experiencing a lot of transformation into our dream ceremony and reception site.

Well this post is no different; even my MIL got to drive the loader around to help pave the grounds to make a beautiful aisle with rock paths on the sides.

After the earthquake in Chile, my MOH told me that she was not going to be able to make it back to California for our wedding and that made me very sad. I would have loved it if my very best friend was by my side on my wedding day, especially because she was as excited as I was to be here, but she ran into some problems that will not allow her to travel, so I got over it. I planned to have my sister by my side, even though my MOH would always be my MOH in my heart.
I was very proud of myself because I was handling it well. Things were not going to be the way I envisioned them, but it was going to be OK anyway.
That was, until today.
Today I woke up and headed to the computer, because today was my mom and sister’s interview at the USA Embassy in Chile for their Tourist Visa. They were seeking a Visa for one week in order to visit us and attend our wedding.
I waited patiently until my sister finally logged on to Skype. I asked her how it all went, and let her know that we’d been praying for them and collecting all the papers they needed for their visa.

Previously I showed you what all of my flowers look like. By that time, I had also finished all of my BM bouquets and the tossing bouquet (I am keeping the one you’re about to see). But there was still a lot of details to complete on my bouquet, because I wanted the bottom to look like this!
I looove burlap! In my room in Chile I had tons of things made of burlap. I love the rustic feel and the soft brown texture, so to me, burlap was the very first idea that came to my mind when I was thinking about how to make the bottom of my bouquet. I am not going to lie, for this particular project I haven’t being as involved as I would like to be. Do you know why?
Because Mr. Poodle, my FIL and lots of their friends like big machines way more than I do! And that doesn’t mean I don’t like them! But most of the time we are at Mr. Poodle’s grandparents’ ranch, I have a box of wedding crafts so the girls can help me with them, while the boys play out in the field!
