Earlier this year I mentioned how I wanted to renew our vows on our 5 year anniversary.  I don’t think the 5 year renewal will happen, but hopefully we can aim for the 10 year.

I often think about the type of wedding we’d have if we could do it again.  We had a classic Manhattan loft wedding, and it was beautiful and fun and great.  But an outdoor, much more casual, even rustic wedding is better suited to both our personalities.  I’d love to do something like a big ol’ barbecue. 

What type of wedding are you having, and if you could do it again (even if it’s an imaginary wedding), how would you do it differently?

Mrs. Bee posted last year about whether or not she would remarry, if I was no longer buzzing around. Between you and me, I hope the answer is yes… I think she’s happier with a Mr. Bee around (although if she called him Mr. Bee, I might turn in my grave!).

When we asked the hive if you’d remarry, 50% of people said that yes, 15% said no, and 34% said maybe.

So know we know what you all would do if your partner died. But what about the flip side… if you died, would you want your partner to remarry?

Mrs. Butterscotch blogged this morning about how in the mornings, she wants to “just want to stay in bed all snuggled up and warm next to him.”

A commenter on the post cracked me when she agreed: “It is so hard leaving in the morning. Plus, he’s the source of all the heat and I hate to be cold.”

Haha! I am also the “source of all the heat”. However, Mrs. Bee tells me that I am *too* hot. So I’ll have to work on that one.

How hot is your partner?

Mister Bee here. Mrs. Bee is traveling, so I’m jotting down a Reader Buzz that we discussed earlier on the phone.

Mrs. Bee and I often talk about the “honeymoon phase”… that time in a relationship when you are wildly in love. You gaze into each others’ eyes adoringly, plan romantic dates and getaways, and in general simultaneously inspire and sicken all of your close friends.

Then over time, that honeymoon love “matures”… and becomes a different type of love. A more mature, deeper love. Or so they say.

I actually don’t believe in love maturing… I believe that honeymoon love can last for a lifetime. Maybe not as intensely as it was in the beginning, but it can still be awfully intense.

I often hear brides say that their wedding day was perfect, and they wouldn’t have changed a single thing.  Call me a pessimist (because I am one! )… although our wedding was wonderful, there were definitely things I would have done differently.  Maybe it’s all just a matter of perspective.

But I’m really interested in hearing what our married readers have to say!

Mr. Bee here. Mrs. Bee is out buying cat food (and isn’t feeling so well), so she asked me to write a Reader Buzz.

Mrs. Bee and I were talking this morning about our three biggest incompatibilities. Not our three biggest differences - but the three things that create the biggest issues for us day to day. After much brainstorming and debate, here is our joint list:

Every day over instant message, Mrs. Bee asks me “wup” - our code for, “what’s ur plan?” Especially on weekends, she likes to know exactly what my plan is for the day… or as she put it, “Exactly what you hope to accomplish today, and when you plan to accomplish it”. I will often awake on Saturday to see a piece of paper that says, “Saturday’s Plan” on it, with a list of her errands and things she hopes to accomplish that day.

Miss Lollipop linked to a metafilter thread earlier today that asked, “Do you regret having spent all of that money and energy on your big, splash-out wedding?

Commenter aoedorothee wanted to hear weddingbee readers’ responses, so I’ll start!

I don’t regret any of the time that I put into planning our wedding (approx 6 months), because going through the process helped me a great deal in launching weddingbee.  Being one of the first of my friends to get married, I really had no idea what I was doing back then… but now I live, eat, breathe, drink weddings.   If I could do it again, sure there are things I would have done differently, spent less on, etc.  But overall, I don’t really have regrets about our wedding. 

For those of you that are already married - do you regret the time and money you invested into your wedding?

Commenter Red had a good point about how most brides exceeded their initial budgets in our Real Reader Budgets post earlier today.  So we’d like to know how much your budget has changed from your initial estimate, to what it is now (mid or post planning).

Father’s Day is right around the corner, bringing with it the usual challenge of finding something special for your father.  But for those of you who are engaged, Sunday also presents a great opportunity to do something thoughtful for your future father-in-law, too.

However, it can be tricky enough to think of something for your own dad.  So what do you think?  Will you be giving your FFIL a present?  If so, what?
