Remember this reader email from a couple of days ago?
I secretly set my fiance’s internet browser homepage to weddingbee.com and after discovering the switch from yahoo sports to weddingbee, he’s actually kept it! HA~ He may become your most unexpectedly loyal reader yet!
She wrote back with this:
Oh, and Mr. Gump was thrilled to see himself anonymously referenced on weddingbee! He was afraid that you would reference him by name, post his home address, his picture, then call all of his basketball buddies and ruin his life. His exact words were: “Babe, when a man’s name is Googled, he never wants to see ‘weddingbee’ anywhere on the results page…”
Puhahaha… Don’t worry Mr. Gump - we kept you anonymous and I think we actually have a decent number of male readers!
Hi Mrs. Bee!
I wanted to share with you (and the Weddingbee community) some free things VistaPrint is offering. I’ve actually never ordered anything from them before but I was perusing the site and it seems some of the free things they offer are a pretty good deal! You can get 140 return address labels, an address stamp, a notepad, note cards, folded cards, even Christmas cards! They also have a wedding / engagement section of designs you can apply to your address labels and cards. Hopefully some people will find this useful.
Here is the link to some of the free products that expires Oct. 31. If you click on “Specials” at the top toolbar, there are more free products offered.

I just wanted to share this in case it might be helpful to others. It was inspired by weddingbee.
My mom, aunts, and some of my good friends live far away. I was trying to think of a way to incorporate their input into the wedding without driving me crazy (specifically my mom and aunts). I got a list of the aunts and friends I know who are very interested in my wedding. I wrote them a very nice e-mail asking that they be part of the “wedding research club.” Every week, I send them out either an update or a question that I ask their opinion on. Like, what color envelopes I should use, what photo I should use, which is their favorite centerpiece. I always have some idea about what I want, but I like to hear their opinions (even if I don’t always agree).
The response has been wonderful. One aunt prints out the options and takes them to my grandmother and gets her opinion. Another aunt has started “collecting funds” from family members for the wedding. I get a check for about $100 every month. My girlfriends who live near by have offered to help put together invites and build centerpieces. Almost everyone has offered some great suggestions. It’s like having a mini “weddingbee” listserve specifically for my wedding. It has also been helpful in keeping people excited about the wedding and feeling like they have a part in it.
I should say, I never ask open ended questions. I always list about three options and see which one they like better. I’m a little controlling and I feel this helps me give them an idea of what I want but still have their input.Bethany

Dear Weddingbee,
As a design student, I really enjoy reading Weddingbee for ideas and just plain enjoyment, even if my own wedding is still far away in the future.
So if I could have the honor, here is a (small) contribution of a site I chanced upon.

I know that you are always featuring new ideas and vendors on your website so I thought I’d share. I’m not sure how I stumbled upon this website - maybe you guys even featured it.
I did my save the dates as post cards from overnightprints. They turned out great - exactly how they were presented online. The color was perfect and they were a great alternative for a really, really, cheap price.
I ordered 100 4 X 6 cards and with shipping, they were 30 dollars.
Love your website!

Dear Weddingbee,
I have been reading your blog since shortly after I got engaged 4 months ago and really love it. As a New York bride, I find so many of your postings really apply to me. However, as a Jewish bride from a pretty religious family, I have had an additional set of challenges in trying to find ways to combine our religious practices with a modern twist, a DIY personality and a budget.
My wedding is next Sunday and I finally found the time to take pictures of some of my DIY projects. I really wanted to share them with you and your readers, hope you enjoy!
The invitation: I did all the art, wax stamping and glued all the ribbons. Originally I was only going to have the English card but my father requested that I add the Hebrew for my very religious relatives. In the end, I liked it better with the Hebrew - it created a wonderful “suite” of cards that wrapped up so nicely under the ribbon.

Thought some folks would be interested in the new partnership between Martha and Kodak EasyShare (formerly Ofoto)…great photo cards. I think they’d be adorable for holiday-timed STD cards, or for holiday cards featuring wedding pics of the happy new couple!

I actually gained around 25 pounds between high school and my wedding… I lost a bit before the wedding but not too much. Then after the wedding, I gained another 5-10 pounds. I made it my goal to go back to my high school weight, so after the wedding (and all the pressure was over) I joined Weight Watchers.
I love it because you can literally eat whatever you want, it’s just about following the rules and keeping track of your points. And it’s a very gradual process - it’s not a diet.. it becomes a lifestyle. I lose around 1-2 pounds a week (except the weeks of my period) so it’s VERY gradual but the results are very real.
I’ve lost 25 pounds so far over a period of about 7 months, and I’ve dropped from between a size 10-12 to between 6-8. For someone who has never lost weight without gaining it back within a month, this is a huge achievement for me. I highly recommend Weight Watchers for anyone with a personality like mine - likes to indulge once in a while, uses food as comfort, and likes to keep track of things with lists.
Ed note: You may remember Jasmine (the author of this blog) from her honeymoon cruise posts and her RSVP Scrapbook cards that we’ve featured in the past.

After I got engaged, my friend Emily and I looked at invitations I liked and bounced ideas around. We weighed different options but in the end Paul and I trusted Emily, so we pretty much gave her free reign. We knew she would amaze us as she is so creative, and we knew she would put her heart into making us happy.
When I finally received the proof, I was floored. Emily had fulfilled my wishes and more. She blended everything I wanted and added some neat touches of her own to truly make our invitations personal, memorable, and unbelievably gorgeous! Everyone raved about how unique and personal they were, and how they had never seen an invitation quite like it. My boss’s wife said she was planning on saving it as a template to use for her own daughter’s wedding… her daughter just started kindergarten this September! Needless to say my invites were a huge hit and it was all due to Emily’s vision, creativity, hard work, and love.
