Now that we’ve explained how StumbleUpon works, we thought we’d talk a bit about other popular social media platforms.
Most of you probably have a Facebook account, so please be sure to join Weddingbee’s fan page! To share any of Weddingbee’s posts with your Facebook friends, click on the little
under the post, log into your account, and send the article off to friends or post it on your wall.
Kirsty is similar to StumbleUpon in that it helps you share your favorite finds on the web, except that most of the users are women. You’ll need to sign up for a membership, then if you’re the first to add a post, you leave a short teaser description to describe your find. If someone else has already done that, you’ll simply be adding a vote to the count and helping generate more excitement for that post! To share a Weddingbee post on Kirtsy, click on the little
under the post.

We’ll be sharing Weddingbee posts that we think are Stumble/Facebook/Kirtsy worthy in the coming weeks. Hopefully that brings more visibility to some of our best posts!
What social media platforms do you use regularly?
We’re fascinated by how social media like Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, and Kirtsy help people recommend and discover cool internet content (like Weddingbee!
). So over the next couple of months, we’re going to be experimenting with these mediums to help some of our best blog posts gain visibility on the web. We’re pretty new to all of this stuff, so we’ll be sharing what we learn as we go along. Hopefully we can help you utilize social media to promote your own blog posts and businesses!
When one of our posts gets “stumbled” by a lot of people, we often see a big increase in visitors, so we’ll start by explaining how StumbleUpon works.
Let’s say that you’ve just finished reading Miss Gloss’ fabulous DIY save the date post, and you want to share it with the world. Head to stumbleupon.com to register for an account, then head back to Weddingbee and click the
icon under a particular post to “stumble” it. Clicking the icon will take you to this page:

From there, just click on the THUMBS UP button, add a review of the post if you’d like, and you’ve just told the world that you think this post is great!

We’re launching this new feature to utilize social media sites like Stumble Upon and Kirtsy to attract new readers to Weddingbee! Mrs. Pineapple actually found Weddingbee through Stumble Upon, and of course she eventually become one of our bloggers.
Stumble Upon is a really cool way to discover the best blog posts, pictures, videos and more on the web based on member recommendations and reviews. You can browse by categories like diy – if you click that link, you’ll see that Mrs. Green Tea’s recent DIY thread LED light post was stumbled!
I thought Miss Deviled Egg’s recent DIY cake post was awesome, and discovered that someone had stumbled it! If you’d like to help us with this new Social Bee feature and get the word out about Weddingbee, please stumble and review Miss Deviled Egg’s post! To start stumbling, simply create and account and install the Stumble Upon toolbar!
