I want to take a moment to thank all of you for the support, advice, and help you have given me. As you all are aware, planning a wedding can be stressful. You all have helped to make planning my wedding, dare I say, less stressful and fun.

I have been in the kitchen for the majority of the morning baking goodies for Christmas. As I was making Oreo truffles, I thought of all you bees.
Truffles I made for sister Spring Roll’s bridal shower
I couldn’t stop thinking of what a wonderful favor or treat for a candy buffet the truffles would make. Wouldn’t they be so cute in a truffle box, tied with a ribbon?

As previously stated, making our wedding favors was extremely rewarding. However, it was very time consuming. The project that took the longest? The key chain Rubik’s cubes. There were several times when I wanted to throw the cubes in the trash, or at least across the room. In the end, I am so happy that I didn’t do that, and finished the cubes.
For all you brave bees, I present you with a tutorial on how I made the cubes. Read more…

Today is a very special day. It’s National Maple Syrup Day, but more importantly, I met Mr. Spring Roll four years ago today.
One of our first photos together; January 2005
As Mrs. Cupcake would say, today is our “meetiversary”. It still amazes me how a simple, “Do I know you?“* will soon result in, “I do.” Read more…

Making our wedding favors meant so much to me, and turned out to be extremely rewarding. I hope that you too will consider making your own favors. As promised, I present you with my DIY Eiffel Tower soap tutorial.

I have been anxiously awaiting this day for well over a month. Today I finished our DIY wedding favors.
It wasn’t easy, but it was worth every one of the 3,888 peeled stickers, 3,240 hole punched dots, and 216 tied bows that Mom Spring Roll and I completed. Read more…

After much consideration and helpful advice, Mr. Spring Roll and I decided to forgo our registry.
You see, we created a registry for guests who requested our registry information, not because we wanted one. We have everything we could possibly need, so we registered for stuff that we didn’t need, a measly fifteen items total. Not only was the registry unnecessary, but when we heard of the terrible return policy, we decided it wasn’t worth the stress.
Mr. Spring Roll and I don’t expect gifts from our guests. However, if they want to give us something, we would really appreciate money for our honeymoon. In giving us money, our guests would be allowing us to enjoy our honeymoon to the fullest. The problem? According to Wedaholic, it is not polite to directly ask for money. Read more…

If you haven’t noticed, Mr. Spring Roll is never without a hat on his head.
Our wedding day will be no exception. I met, know, and love Mr. Spring Roll with a hat on his head, and that is how he feels most comfortable. Read more…

This post was supposed to be an exciting post, explaining that we booked our ceremony musician. Much to my dismay, that is not the case. After a couple of weeks of trying to set up a meeting with a violinist, we finally scheduled one for earlier this week. Although I had strep and wanted nothing more than to lay around in my pajamas, I decided it was best to keep our meeting. Mr. Spring Roll and I anxiously awaited the arrival of the violinist. Fifteen minutes passed, and we thought she may be running late. Sixty minutes passed, still no violinist, call, or e-mail. We were stood up.
This is my first big vendor let down, and it hit me hard. Read more…

You’ve seen the gifts for the guys, now it’s time to see the gifts for the girls. I was a little apprehensive to post the gifts for the girls, as they read this site. Sister Spring Roll and FSIL Spring Roll, now is the time to stop looking; you don’t want to ruin the surprise, do you?

I have an embarrassing confession to make: I had never heard of calligraphy until a few months ago. Sure, I knew some people had beautiful handwriting, but I never knew it was such a skilled form of art. I fully appreciate the attention to detail and aesthetic value.

Mr. Spring Roll and I have booked our caterer and have selected the entrees we will offer our guests, but we have one little problem: we don’t have dinnerware or flatware for our guests. You see, our caterer doesn’t provide dinnerware or flatware. I am having a hard time choosing which dinnerware and flatware to provide, as each of our options have their pros and cons.
Our first option is to rent dinnerware and flatware from a local rental company. At 40 cents a plate, and 30 cents per flatware piece, it is a good deal. The con? We would have to clean nearly 75 plates and 225 pieces of flatware. Additionally, if any items are damaged or lost, we would have to pay full price for the item (we are allowing children at our wedding, so there is potential for damage).

Mr. Spring Roll and I are paying for the majority of our wedding; therefore, we have learned to be very practical. While I would love to have real peonies, dahlias, and hydrangea in my bouquet and at each table, I can’t justify spending hundreds of dollars on flowers. Our practical solution? Artificial flowers. From my bouquet to the centerpieces, all of the flowers at our wedding will be artificial.
If done well, artificial flowers look just as beautiful as real flowers. Take a look at these beautiful crepe peonies, and paper poppy pomanders.

Mr. Spring Roll and I never put much thought into registering for gifts. Initially, we were not going to register at all, as we were secretly hoping that if people were generous enough to give us gifts, that they would be monetary gifts to help with our honeymoon expenses (eating, sightseeing, etc.). However, the past few weeks my mom has been inundated with family and friends asking her where we are registered. Mr. Spring Roll and I decided to register at—where else but my favorite store—Target.
