Planning our wedding has been a bit stressful. However, as crazy as it may seem, it has also kept me sane. I love crafting and having a project to work on. No matter how big or small the project may be, it is relaxing and rewarding to me. Today, my project was small; I made ‘reserved’ signs for wedding chairs that immediate family will be seated in.
Below you will find a tutorial on how I made the signs.

After searching and searching for a wedding cake topper, we never found anything that we could picture being on top of our cake. The traditional bride and groom toppers look nothing like Mr. Spring Roll and I, and although cute, animal toppers aren’t for me. I could have opted for no topper, however, a cake without a topper is incomplete in my eyes. After several weeks of contemplating, we decided to go with a monogram cake topper.
I ordered a 5 inch (based on the website recommendation for a top layer of 6 inches) ’W’ in Scriptina font from Wedding Cuts for $32.85. Additionally, I purchased one box of orange and pink peel-and-stick rhinestones for around $4 at Jo-Ann. Using a pair of tweezers, I peeled off the adhesive from each rhinestone and placed them on one by one, alternating between the colors.

For several months I have been searching for the perfect first dance song. Most articles and websites list the same songs over and over again. While beautiful, the songs did not give me the “oh my gosh this is the song” feeling . I quickly became discouraged and gave up my search for the perfect song. Within a few days, not one, but two songs randomly graced my ears.

Earlier this month, Sister Spring Roll shot our engagement photos. Despite the fact that it was 92 degrees of hot and humid Florida heat, sister Spring Roll managed to get a few great shots. We started out by taking photos behind my house.
(I love that Izzy and Gabby are walking along with us)

Mr. Spring Roll is a lot like the delicious hors d’oeuvre. While Mr. Spring Roll may appear hard on the outside (big and tall with tattoos), he is full of goodness on the inside. If I were asked to make a list of my favorite things about Mr. Spring Roll, I would be writing until my hand fell off.
Here are 10 of my favorite things about Mr. Spring Roll:

According to The Knot, “In the days when roads were unpaved, wedding guests would arrive at the church and track in dirt or mud from the streets. It didn’t seem right for the bride to drag the hem of her dress in the mud, so the aisle runner was first used to protect her gown.”
We are going to have an aisle runner, not necessarily to protect my dress from mud, but because I adore them. Today, I spent a few tedious hours painting a monogram onto our aisle runner.
Below you will find a tutorial on how I made my aisle runner. Read more…

I have long, bland, pin straight hair. It won’t hold a long loose curl for the life of me, and is bumpy if I try to put it up. Thanks to Florida’s heat and humidity, I rarely wear my hair down. It usually resides in a side pony tail or sloppy side bun. Both of which I do not want to wear on our wedding day.

You know those bags that coffee typically comes in, where you roll the top edge of the bag over and fold the two tabs inward to create a secure fold? Last week I found out that they have a name: tin tie! I ordered 100 tin tie bags for our guests to fill candy buffet sweets into. Of course I could not leave the bags plain, so I dressed them up in simple DIY style.

Before Mr. Spring Roll proposed to me, I would browse engagement rings and dream of his proposal. I dreamt of some neat proposals, such as him getting a tattoo reading “will you marry me?”, and of our Shih Tzu having a ring attached to her collar. Okay, but back to browsing. I found the most gorgeous engagement ring ever. It was simple, elegant, and brilliant.

After changing our color palette several (hundred) times, we have chosen a final palette of bright orange, pinks, and white. I, like many future brides, love pink and white. I was never a big fan of orange, but I just love how the colors look together.

It was a cold night in Troy, North Carolina on December 17, 2006; Jason and I were visiting his sister, brother-in-law, and their two Shih Tzus Simon and Autumn. I was laying on the couch curled up with a very pregnant Autumn, feeling the puppies move around inside of her belly. Suddenly, I felt Autumn contracting, so we rushed her over to her “delivery area”.
Several hours later, Autumn delivered three beautiful babies; sadly, one puppy did not make it.
Four months later Jason’s sister, Melissa, asked if Jason and I would like one of the puppies. The next week, Jason, carrying a big pink dog carrier, was on a flight to pick up our little girl. She is the biggest blessing in my life, I love her more than words can describe, and can’t imagine my wedding day without her.
Our number one requirement when searching for a venue was that she would be able to attend, to be our “flower dog”. Upon telling people that we will not be having a flower girl, but a flower dog, we have received various reactions, many of which claim us nuts.

Hello Hive! I am so thrilled and blessed to become one of the newest bees. A couple of months ago I stumbled upon Weddingbee and have been a devoted stalker since. I can’t wait to share the planning of our wedding with you all. I hope to inspire, engage, and entertain all of you.
About me: I reside in sunny Florida and may be the only Floridian who has never had a tan. I love all stereotypical girly things such as baking, sewing, and decorating. I am blessed to share my life with Mr. Spring Roll and our two Shih Tzus, Isabella and Gabriella.
About the Spring Rolls: Mr. Spring Roll and I met nearly four years ago at a local club. He kept staring at me and when he finally came over, he used the cheesy pick-up line, “Do I know you?” Needless to say, the pick-up line worked. Fast forward to May 2008. During our final dinner on a Bahamian cruise, Mr. Spring Roll had our waiter place a light blue box tied with a white ribbon next to me. Read more…
