I thought you might like to join me on a little tour of my favourite place in the world—Sydney, Australia. I have honestly travelled a lot—if you follow me on 4Square you have seen that. However, I am still biased and will shout from the rooftops that Sydney is the best city in the world.

…when you are having fun right? Boy oh boy what a fun year this has been! This time last year, I was already missing Mr. Teaspoon as it had been more than 12 hours since we had last spoken, and that never happens. My mum and bridesmaids wouldn’t even let me text him.
Mind you, that doesn’t really matter now because I have had the most amazing year, our wedding day was blow our socks off awesome and more than we could both have ever dreamed of. Even this morning as we went for a morning walk, it is a similar day to one year ago. It is beautiful and sunny, but with a little crispness of the start of Spring in the air.
From tomorrow, we are no longer newlyweds and I couldn’t care less. Every day with my husband is a new adventure, each more incredible than the last. They say the first year is the hardest, if this is the hardest—I seriously cannot wait for the years to come!

Oh hive, like so many bees before me, I have been dreading writing this post. It has been such an amazing opportunity for me to share our wedding journey with this community! I have been blogging here for almost six months and it has been such a great experience and I have absolutely loved every minute of it. So, I’m going to make this farewell a band-aid experience—do it quickly and it will only hurt for a second… well, that’s what I will tell myself anyway.

These vendors went above and beyond anything we would have expected.
Fine Invitations (Paper goods)- Including invitation package, programs and our place cards. We were so happy with all of our paper goods and they were incredibly flexible. We may have procrastinated a little with our program and in the end they stayed back and Mr. Teaspoon collected them the evening before the wedding.

You have had the big day, you are a MRS and all the stress and jobs and projects leading up to the wedding are finally over, right? Wrong!
Here are a few things that you might want to consider when budgeting your wedding and also things to think about whether or not you want to do after you get carried over the threshold into your blissful wedded life.
Dry-cleaning your dress: We were on the ball with this one, because we had asked around and so we were able to budget in the exorbitant $600!!! it cost to dry-clean and box my dress. I was still hemming and hawing about whether or not to sell my dress, but regardless I had to have it dry-cleaned so I dropped it in as soon as we returned home from our honeymoon and now it is sitting pretty in its beautiful box in our second room (because it is too big to go in a cupboard!).

Our fabulous paper products supplier, Fine Invitations, did an amazing job with our place cards. They really incorporated our squiggles into the reception.
Even our cake had squiggles! Although, I expected them to be a lot more of an impact on the cake, being the same colour as the ribbon but in hindsight—whatever.

It was almost time for all the formalities to be over…it was time for our first dance! About a week before the wedding, Mr Teaspoon realised that whilst he could carry a rhythm and get by with a dance, I honestly could not. Actually, I was woeful… I couldn’t even follow along while he led. I blame going to an all-girls’ school. So, we had a lesson and I was able to learn a lot in 45 minutes. Well, let’s be honest, enough to allow us to get through our two-and-a-half minutes before our bridal party and parents joined us on the dance floor!

After our entrance into our beautiful reception venue, we sat down and enjoyed a lovely entree (appetiser for the North Americans) and for me, only my second meal of the day. Oh boy, did I scoff it down. After that, I just wanted to keep chatting with our guests. However, Mr T reminded me that everyone else probably hadn’t inhaled their meal yet, so I should probably wait for a minute.
Regardless, it was then time for our first speech from my dad, who was incredibly nervous about speaking in front of 106 people! Before the wedding he mentioned that he had found a great idea—that he just had to pretend everyone was in their underwear. Real original, Dad. Anyway, I suggested that he should just tell everyone how nervous he was and that he was imagining them all in their underwear…then go back to that every time he got nervous again.

After we joined our guests for cocktail hour, we walked about two metres outside the reception room and waited for our introduction. First up was groomsman O and bridesmaid M:
Then the best man and maid of honour—they apparently got a ’pose at the top of the stairs’ memo. You might have also noted that my MOH did a little switcheroo with her dress and went with the evening look, for ease of dancing!

After we took our golf course photos, we sneaked into the reception and grabbed a quick bite to eat and some pep-up from a Diet Coke. My girls were ready for the small wardrobe change to bustle my dress and swap out the veil for my hair flower. Then, we waltzed into our cocktail hour to see our guests!

When we arrived at the golf course, Mr Teaspoon and I were totally over photos and just wanted to join our guests at cocktail hour, but our photographer wanted us to get some shots on the course. I did get a little grumpy when I saw of all our guests inside and I wasn’t allowed to go in. Not to worry, I cheered up immensely when we got in the golf buggies! It was all hands on deck across the gravel in the carpark. I walked about two steps and I swear half the train of my dress ripped. The girls freaked out, and jumped on board. In the end, I have inspected my dress post-wedding and there doesn’t seem to be a single rip that I can find.

We headed over to the other side of the beautiful harbourside suburb of Lavender Bay in Sydney to take the last of our photos before we headed to our reception location. I am so glad we did, as these photos are beautiful and definitely some of our favourites! By this point, we were getting much more used to the photographers snapping 2000 pictures of us and were just enjoying our blissful wedding day. Before we got to the Jetty, we stopped in the middle of the park and played with the light. Well, truth be told, our photographer told us to stop, so we did…and we kissed and hugged a lot.

After our family pictures, we jumped into the cars and headed straight down to Lavender Bay, a harbourside park with many different photo opportunities, many with the Harbour Bridge in the background. We started off on the gravel in front of a massive brick wall. I love that Mr Teaspoon’s little brother is kicking the ground in this photo like, “are we done yet?”
Mr Teaspoon soon became the expert dress carrier. We headed down onto the tiny little beach to get my beloved sand photo.

I think if our photographer had a tape recorder on our wedding day, it would have said, “Boys, hands in pockets,” in every photo…especially for the family photos! We all lined up outside the church for a big group shot from the balcony on the level above.
My mum had taken with her a bag of flower petals and handed them out to a few people, so we did a little rose petal photo. I was a little excited! Read more…

Never in my life have I hugged pretty much everyone that I know in a matter of half an hour! I actually really enjoyed this part of the day. Apart from every single person telling me I looked beautiful, that they loved my dress and that the Top Gun theme was Amazeballs…this was the first time I got to say hello to many of our guests and albeit brief, it was lovely.
I started out with little bro’s girlfriend. At this point I was still wanting to look pretty and carry my bouquet. That was ditched rather swiftly.
My Grandad walked out of the church, wandered over to give me a hug, and I swear all I did was say, “Hi Grandad!” and he began to cry tears.
