This was by far the most nervewracking part of the day for me. All I wanted to do was get down the end of that aisle and see Mr Teaspoon. I’m getting jittery even now just writing about it. We arrived in the beautiful sunshine outside the school that held the chapel. Yes, I look like a giant ball of tulle. My smile here is a little, “Let me get out of the car, I want to get married already!”
I made sure that Papa Teaspoon had my trusty hanky just in case. In hindsight, giving it to dad was a poor decision; I should have given it to Mr Teaspoon so he could have it in his jacket for me. I guess you will have to wait and see if I needed it or not. Read more…

Everyone knows this…well, everyone knows at least most of it, and I was very keen to include these elements into our day…all of them!
Something old
My engagement ring: this is the oldest thing that I was wearing. However, this portion of the day is meant to be something from my family. Not to worry, I know you all want to see another picture of Gladis.

Our beautiful morning included a very relaxing time with the hair and makeup artists and a nice cup of tea. The photographers arrived right on time, with my special card from Mr Teaspoon. He had to make me tear up right after my makeup lady, Mandy, had left. Yes, this is my “trying not to cry so I don’t ruin the false eyelashes” face.
The champers was on ice, ready for celebrating. Read more…

OK so it should really be “the boys get dressed and then undressed again.” The problem with our family homes being about a 40 minute drive from one another is that it meant that the photographer arrived at Mr Teaspoon’s at 10:30 AM before our 2PM ceremony!
That morning, the boys discussed the latest selection of the Wallabies team for the upcoming Rugby World Cup:
Luckily they didn’t have to be dressed. Considering some of the photos I saw, it gave me a little indication of what they were up to the previous night, care of Best Man: Read more…

As you saw from my last single girl post, I woke up bright and early on the morning of our wedding. My mum, Bridesmaid M, and I headed down for a nice stroll to the beach in the crisp morning air (Maid of Honour A is definitely not a morning person!). We also had another friend join us for the walk: my parents’ next door neighbour’s dog, Lawson. He loves going for walks, especially when he has a few friends to join him. It still didn’t feel like our wedding day; it was starting to feel a little like my birthday or Christmas though…we were getting there!

After the amazing first part of our honeymoon in Maui, we flew back to Honolulu which is where we had to fly home from. We stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki right on the beach and had a beautiful view over Diamond Head and across the town and out onto the ocean.
It was quite the change of pace going from being in an incredibly secluded resort to the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. To say the least, we wanted to high-tail it right back to Maui quick smart.

Wow! Our honeymoon was the most amazing holiday we have ever been on! We could have gone anywhere and it still would have been fun! It was a great time to spend together, being freshly married, calling each other husband and wife, and saying “Mr and Mrs Teaspoon,” followed by a fit of giggle (usually by me!)! Just enjoying the time together after the incredible high of the wedding and relaxing together after that excitement prevented both of us from sleeping!

That is our bridal party, of course! We had two bridesmaids and two groomsmen to thank in anticipation of their support, friendship, and assistance with going to the bathroom (just the bridesmaids for that one!). Luckilly, I didn’t actually end up needing help with going to the bathroom that day; thanks to Mrs Cola’s lovely picture I was able to successfully navigate that issue alone!
Now, onto the point at hand: the Teaspoons had decided early on what we intended to give the boys, after we had seen it as a very handy gift at a wedding about a year before our wedding.
We had them engraved and the boys had fun with their scotch in them on the wedding day! So did some of our other guests—but that’s a post for another day (or not).

Today is our one month anniversary and I am quite possibly the worst wife ever. I am precisely 17,683 km away from my husband (that’s 10,987 miles for the imperial players). I actually used this website to work out that I am actually not that far from the furthest possible point I could possibly be away from him.
If I dug a really deep hole from Sydney, Australia, this is where I would end up:
Yep, that would be just off the coast of Portugal. Next to that is Spain, where I am currently spending our one month anniversary. Read more…

I was sitting in Adelaide Airport and Googled something along the lines of “How do you know if your boyfriend is going to propose?”—because Google has the answer to everything, of course! Originally I didn’t really get into the blog because I wasn’t engaged yet, so I wasn’t really very excited about guestbooks and engagement pictures and things, but I really got into reading the boards, namely the waiting, fitness, and general chit-chat boards. The longer I lurked on the boards the more I started to read the blogs; after all, they are the first thing you see when you log in! I started to enjoy reading the likes of Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Mrs. Cardigan, Mrs. Jellyfish, and Mrs. Trail Mix and had really started to ignore the boards and focus more on devouring every inch of the blog. Soon, as you know it—I was engaged!! So the very next day I cracked open Blogger and got started!
My Application Story
I originally applied right to the day of eight months before our wedding. I put hours of time and effort into my application, rewriting and revising. I even printed it out and got out the red pen. Unfortunately during this time I probably put less effort into my blogging, so—rejection.

I am already debating whether or not to sell my wedding dress. I know a lot of bees before me have contemplated selling their wedding dresses (such as Mrs. Fro Yo and Mrs. Cowboy Boot). I don’t intend on wearing it again, and I am personally a huge fan of the eBay recycling system when I no longer have an interest in clothes. So why not my dress? Let’s weigh up the pros and cons for selling the dress:
Pros:
Additional cash we could use to buy air conditioning or something much more useful than a dress I can’t wear?
No dress taking up vast amounts of space in the ever dwindling space of our apartment.

Warning: this may not be suitable for work, as there are some photos of some plastic and papier-mâché male body parts.
Otherwise known as a bachelorette in some parts of the world, down here we call it a hens’ night, apparently for some unknown reason? I’m guessing it is due to all the plucking around all us women do, but honestly who knows?
Anyway, after the posh and delicate afternoon tea, the sun went down and the frivolity increased! The PG rating of the night went out the door and the six-foot “big bob” ended up in the toilet to startle the first person who walked into the bathroom—here he is in the spare room while we were getting ready:

While we wait for our professional shots to come back from the photographer, there are still a few details that I would like to share with you that I didn’t have the chance to do before the wedding.
Our wedding bands! So, you saw my inspiration. Now we are finally sporting these little beauties every day. Although Mr Teaspoon did have to hide mine until our wedding day, because I just wanted to wear it!
They are exactly what we wanted—a simple band for Mr Teaspoon and a blingy ring for me. Of course, I had to break out the camera and give them a little photo shoot!

Wow, what an amazing day! I cannot believe we are married and all the preparation for the wedding came to fruition to give us the most perfect day we could ever have imagined! Everything was beautiful, the weather was better than we could’ve imagined, our ceremony was beautiful, we danced the night away, and best of all, we are Mr and Mrs Teaspoon!
Now, before we head off on our honeymoon, I just want to share a teaser shot with you all. Of course, I also have a few bits and pieces I want to share with you while we wait for our professional shots. Time tended to get away from us in the last few days before the wedding! Read more…
