On Tuesday, the Mister and I had our Anniversary Photo Session with NY photographer, Chris Chen. Because of all the rain and gloom that had descended on the Northeast of late, we chose an indoor location for our shoot — the beautiful Liberty Hotel.

I’m not sure I can top the Mister’s awesome gift to me, however, here it goes…

For our paper anniversary, I stuck to the theme and bought The Mister 1 share of Disney Stock from FrameAStock.com. FrameAStock.com allows you to purchase a single share of stock and an actual stock certificate that can be framed as a gift.

I had the one share of Disney framed along with a little plaque that read, “Happy 1st Anniversary. Thanks for all the magical memories, and may there be many more to come!” I think he really liked it!

When thinking of gifts to give each other for our anniversary, we both tried to stick to the traditional 1st year gift theme of paper (anniversary gifts by year).

Before I tell you what Mr. T’s gift to me was, I should explain that it is usually very hard for him to buy gifts for me. I think I have some sort of ESP that only applies to Mr. Toucan. I always guess what my gifts are. This time, I had absolutely no idea until about 30 seconds beforehand.

Sometime during the 3rd inning of the Red Sox/Texas Rangers game on Sunday (also, tickets are paper!), all of the sudden the Mister grabbed my camera, gave it to my friend, and said, “Take a picture of us.”

This was weird because, we already had taken about 10 pictures of us earlier in the game. It got more weird when Jess kept taking pictures. Like about 10 in a row.

I think our first anniversary was probably a little different from most, in a sense that we spent all day celebrating it with family and friends!

We started our day by going back to our reception venue, Jin Asia Cuisine Restaurant, for a dim sum brunch with my parents and sisters. It was somewhat surreal being there. The last time we were there, we were introduced as a new Mr. and Mrs.!

(Random Note: Despite being with the Mister for almost 8 years now, I still forget how tall he is until I see pictures like these!)

After stuffing ourselves at brunch, we had the good fortune of being invited to see the Sox play at Fenway!

Yesterday, Mr. Toucan and I celebrated our first anniversary. It’s hard to believe that one year has gone by! Since there are still so many married ladies buzzing around in the hive, I’ll be putting together a short little series of posts of how we celebrated our one year, and will share our paper anniversary presents! But first, let’s take a look back…

We decided to go through our wedding pictures and reminisce, and we each picked out one picture from our day to share with you.

While this might not be the *best* picture, it’s definitely one of my most favorite pictures. It’s the best feeling in the world to love someone so much, and to know that they love you that much back. You can see the love on Mr. Toucan’s face. He looks at me like this every day.

Just when you thought you got rid of me after I finished my recap last week, here I am posting again! But it is for good reason–I have more photos to share!

Back in November during Thanksgiving weekend, Mr. Toucan and I had another photo session with our wedding photographer, Robert Mirani. We squeezed into our wedding attire (though it might not have been the best idea right after 2 Thanksgiving dinners!), and took a “self-guided tour” around the Wellesley College Student Center.
