Erm… Happy Belated New Year! I really wanted to finish up all my recap posts before 2008, but alas, I failed! So, how about I finish them up in 2009 instead?!
We had a few unplanned moments on our wedding day, but none was as fun as this one — our DJ brought along equipment for karaoke! At first, our guests were a little hesitant to participate, but after offering up the table centerpieces a prizes, people started coming to the mic.

After all the toasting, Robert pulled us aside for quick mini side session. We had not had the opportunity to take pictures of just to the two of us, and after seeing these, I’m so glad we were able to squeeze it in!

Luckily, after I had gotten cake down my dress, it was time to change into a new one–my qipao! My qipao was my 3rd outfit of the night (I wore my white wedding gown and qua before). Right after I got changed, we had our parent dances. Since I’m not one to be the center of attention, we opted to have our father-daughter and mother-son dances at the same time.

Eek! It’s been so long since my last post! I have about a billion reasons why I haven’t posted, but I’ll spare you from all my lame excuses… it’s back to the re-cap for me!
After our 2nd tea ceremony and impromptu formals in my qua, it was time to switch gears and entertain our guests a little! Since our cocktail hour was in a separate room from our banquet room, we hired a lion dance troupe to perform a dance for our guests and help make the transition from cocktail hour to dinner. Lion dances are traditionally performed during New Year celebrations because they are thought to bring prosperity and good luck for the upcoming year. However, sometimes lion dances are also performed at new business openings and weddings because of the thought that it brings good fortune. Read more…

After our ceremony and formal pictures at the church, we were off to our reception venue where I prepared for our 2nd tea ceremony.
