Today’s wiki is the Registry Checklist. Most major retailers give you a registry checklist upon starting a registry, but often times there are hundreds of items on these lists, and most lists seem overly-extensive. When you built your registry, what were the most important pieces that you added? Married brides: what items did you register for that you found to be the most practical to you in your home today? Were you surprised by any gifts you received that seemed impractical, but turned out to be extremely useful in your home?
There are even lots of couples that don’t have use for typical housewares, but would still like to register for gifts at alternative stores. What are some atypical registry items, and where can couples register for them?
Add your tips and suggestions for brides that are currently going through the registry process in the Registry Checklist wiki:

I was browsing all the options for the wiki of the day, and the Dessert Reception wiki really piqued my interest! Mr. Penguin and I have never attended a dessert reception, but the idea sounds lovely! When I close my eyes, I imagine huge colorful displays of cakes and desserts, and maybe even a big candy buffet in coordinating wedding colors! There are so many great ideas out there for desert receptions, but where to begin? Hopefully, at the weddingbee wiki!
Some of the trickiest parts of planning a dessert reception are the wording of the invitations, and the appropriate time and place for one. If you’ve hosted a dessert reception, we’d love for you to share with us your invitation wording! In addition, what kinds of desserts can you serve? What are some fun drinks and treats to complement the desserts? What is an appropriate venue for a dessert reception? Share your ideas with us in the dessert reception wiki:

Today’s wiki is Reading. I remember searching for readings for Mr. Penguin’s and my ceremony, and it took me quite a while to find ones to fit our style and personalities. I traded long lists of readings with other engaged readers, but always wished that there was a one stop resource on the web. By contributing to the wiki, we can make it happen!
What readings will you have at your ceremony? Have you heard a great passage that maybe didn’t fit your wedding, but you’d like to share it with others? If you’ve come across a great excerpt from a book, quote, or resource for readings, add it to the wiki!

Today’s wiki is Guest List. For Mr. Penguin and me, this was probably the worst and most stressful part of planning our wedding. We both have large families, and while all were from out of town (or out of country), many expressed their interest in coming, meaning that we had to find a way to cram our huge extensive family list in with our friend list. Luckily, our parents were very kind, keeping their friend lists low, so we were able to invite almost everyone we wanted to while staying within our tight 125 head count maximum.
It seems like lots of brides need help in narrowing down their guest lists, and you can help! What is your advice for helping to narrow down the guest list? Did you find any particular words of advice helpful to you when planning yours out? What is some of the known etiquette when it comes to guests? What online tools have you found helpful when planning out your list? Add your tips and advice to the wiki:

Today’s wiki is Couples Shower. Rather than the traditional bridal shower that only allows female guests, a couples shower is typically attended by both male and female guests and gives an engaged couple the opportunity to share in the excitement of a shower. Because couples showers aren’t very common, anyone that has had or has been to a couples shower can help out in contributing to the wiki!
What are some great themes for a couples shower? How do you plan a shower that appeals to both men and women? How do couples showers differ from bridal showers? What should guests expect when they attend couples showers? Do you know of any good games you could play at a couples shower? Share your knowledge in the wiki:
