Wolfpack in Vegas

Good news! We survived!”¦Barely!

My BFFs and I just spent a whirlwind three days/nights in Sin City for my bachelorette party. It simultaneously feels like we were there for two minutes or two weeks—we kept referring to the city as a “time vortex.” Casinos, lights, music, general decadence—add a three hour time difference and the fact that it’s completely acceptable (encouraged, even) to drink at any hour of the day”¦it was definitely a crazy experience. We kept joking that we would fly back home and it would somehow be January.

We had a super early flight on Thursday morning and arrived well before our rooms were ready, so we killed some time walking around, shopping, and playing beer pong in a bar (normal?)”¦

Had to take this picture. These (Gray) Wolf slot machines were everywhere!

That night, we went to Tao, the nightclub in the Venetian. Not gonna lie, it was pretty cool to go somewhere I’d read about in gossip magazines”¦so fun. I didn’t even want to pause to take any pictures (bad blogger).

Getting ready to head out. I promise I put on shoes eventually.

Friday morning, we made our way to Hash House a Go Go for what has to be one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I’ve never had a worse case of menu anxiety in my life (“menu anxiety” = the very real fear that you will order incorrectly at a restaurant). I went with a Man Versus Food favorite:

Andy’s sage fried chicken w/ fresh spinach, hardwood smoked bacon, market tomato, griddled mozzarella, chipotle cream and scrambled eggs. Hubba hubba.

I also ordered a Snickers flapjack for good measure. It was amazing and I said more than a few times that if we had just gone to that restaurant for my bachelorette party, I would have been happy.

That night, we ate a delicious meal at Pink Taco (food is a theme, apparently) and got a bottle at Moon, one of two similar clubs at the top of the Palms. The other is Ghostbar, famous for the hole in the outdoor deck where you can see straight down 55 stories to the ground. Slightly freaky, but amazing views.

The whole gang, night two.

The view from Ghostbar.

The above photo is an example of my attire for the weekend”¦yes, those are gold spikes. For some reason I used the trip as a pseudo-costume party and wore clothes I would NEVER have previously considered”¦it was actually pretty fun (and hilarious). Seriously, hard metal gold spiked boobs. Yet, in some places I felt UNDER dressed.

On Saturday, we walked around through the casinos and saw most of the Strip before heading to Marquee (in the Cosmopolitan).

It’s hard to tell here, but they had a library themed room”¦it was tough, but I managed to find a literary reference in the middle of the Strip!

We’d heard a lot of hype about the place—which was totally warranted. At one point during the DJ set, SNOW fell in the middle of the club. What?! Knowing we had an 8:00am flight the next morning”¦made the stupid strategic move to just stay awake all night. Well”¦almost.

I’m ashamed, but I feel like we’re all friends here. Right?

If I had any advice for bees visiting Vegas, it’s this: social media! My friends and I tweeted and Instagrammed with a simple #Vegas hashtag and got a lot of club promoters in contact with us, offering free admission, drinks, and bottles at clubs all over the city. It was certainly sort of creepy, but it’s their job, and we easily saved thousands of dollars by taking their offers. All in all, it was an excellent trip and I was so appreciative of my pals for committing to such a big bachelorette party—and a few NSFWB (not safe for Weddingbee) surprises along the way! ;0

When I went to Vegas last December with one of my BFFs, we encountered the same thing when I innocently Tweeted with the Vegas hastag. We were also super creeped out, especially because some of the people didn’t have their respective club(s) names in their handle so it was like “oh. . .JoeThaDrinkaMan wants us to go to Tao and he’ll get us bottle service. . .?” Lol. We used it twice, though, and it totally paid off – so glad you guys discovered it as well!

Also, I f’ing LOVE the picture of you on the floor. As someone who has been to Vegas multiple times (I have family there), I’d say that’s definitely the mark of a successful trip!
