Beautiful Brows

I don’t know about any of you, but I happen to be guilty of the affliction that is overplucking your eyebrows. As witnessed by my engagement photos, at that period in time, I was wayyyy overplucking. Since, I’ve been trying to “grow them out” so that I can get them reshaped and re-done before the wedding.

My attempts to grow them out have completely been foiled by my OCD inability to just let them be – it looks so messy/dirty! O.O I’m sure some of you can identify with me? Or am I just crazy by myself? silly04

Anywhoo, now that there’s an actual eyebrow guru in town, maybe I’ll muster up the strength to resist the urge to pluck.

i’ve seen similar techniques used by Anastasia – a brow expert that was on Oprah awhile back…

oooh i fixed my brows using this technique too! i totally know what you mean about being ocd, i am myself 😉 but maybe instead of growing them out, as you grow them out only pluck those that are outside of what you need? that’s how i did it but it took me a good couple months to do it!

i have the opposite problem – i’m too lazy to pluck them hahahaha…. i would def go to someone great to get them professionally shaped at least once. once you spend all that money, hopefully you’ll be more reluctant to overpluck, and all you have to do is maintain the shape. 🙂

I have heard really great things about eliza. But I have to warn you. When going to eliza or one of her specialists to get your brows groomed, you have to have full or somewhat full brows to really see a difference.

I am a compulsive eyebrow tweezer also, and about a 2 years ago I grew them out as much as I could for about a month and went to eliza’s eyes in the city. The one on fifth avenue. I had an appointment with one of her specialists because it was impossible to get an appointment with her. My specialist examined my eyebrows, tweezed a few hairs here and there and did some trimming. After about 3 minutes I was told sternly to not lay a finger on them for a month and come back so that she could REALLY shape them. I paid $75 after tip and looked in the mirror hoping to see somewhat of a difference. I was so disappointed..haha.

I shape them myself now, since I have training and a license in esthetics. But if I had somewhat of a unshaped brow with a good amount of hair, I would def suggest getting pro help. And she is supposed to be the best.

I just checked my Daily Candy and was thinking about checking her out. My friend actually told me to be very careful about my eyebrows! Ha ha. If you decide to check her out, please let me know.

Wedding planning has really got me hating HAIR! I need to let my hair grow out, watch my eyebrow plucking, get laser on my underarms, etc…

Laser is awesome! Huge success, best money I ever spent on myself. It takes a long time to be “done” but even preliminary treatments make a notable difference.
