Sole Searching: A Hobbling Dilemma

I have searched, searched, and searched everywhere for the perfect pair of shoes to go with my amazing dress. I was getting incredibly frustrated because it seemed like the perfect pair of shoes that I had been envisioning in my dreams was not actually a shoe that existed in the real world.

I have bought 10? 20? different pairs of shoes, looking for that illusive perfect shoe, a pretty blue shoe. And I’ve never really found any that I’ve really loved—well, that is, until now, maybe. I think I might have found a shoe that is so close to being perfect, yet so far.

The shoe is very reminiscent of another favorite shoe of mine, Badgley Mischka’s Randee, a gorgeous shoe that never came in blue, unfortunately.

What am I talking about? Badgley Mischka’s Cissy.

But this is the selling view:

It’s actually funny. I had seen the shoe in pink in Macy’s a while back and had thought, Oh, if only it came in blue, that would be the perfect shoe. Wandering around the interwebs recently, I stumbled across it in blue. I impulsively bought it thinking, well, I could always return it when it doesn’t look the same way in person.

The beginning and end of my career as a shoe model

Hive, I think I’m in love. It’s such a pretty, pretty shoe. Yet, I am hesitating, bees, and I need someone to talk some sense into my head. In fact, I put together a pros and cons list.

  • The shoes are absolutely gorgeous. I love the color, I love the flower detailing, I love everything about how they look.
  • I have not found a single other shoe that I have loved as much as this one, and I’m afraid I’m running out of time. I just haven’t really seen any other shoes that speak to me like these do.

  • They are insanely uncomfortable.
  • They are insanely expensive (but not completely-out-of-my-budget expensive…just double-what-I’ve-ever-spent-on-a-pair-of-shoes expensive).

So someone talk some sense into me. Should I just bite the bullet on this one? Is it worth it? Should I keep looking? Anyone know how to make them more comfortable or the best way to break them in?

Don’t do it! I had really comfy shoes and though they were great for the first 5 hours or so, my feet were killing by the end of the night b/c you don’t sit down basically the entire wedding:

I am going through same dilemma with badgley mishka. My shoe is Gia. I ended up buying a second shoe to change into but i am gonna suck it up and wear them. They are my wedding vision so i havent seen anything that i liked just as much. I found a few links about breaking in shoes and they have helped. Also try going to a cobbler to see if shoe can be stretched.

Don’t do it. You can find some comfortable T-strap sandals in the color you love, and attach fabric flowers. There are a million fabric flower tutorials on the Internet. Save your money and your feet!

I have to go with the majority here…as pretty as they are, I’d return the shoes. I wore uncomfortable shoes and ended up going barefoot for the reception.

OMG I just bought a pair of Badgley Miskas and am having the same dilemma. I think I’m just going to bite the bullet and get some inserts to make them a little more comfortable. At first I was a little put off by the price as these are by far the most expensive shoes I will ever own but they are for your wedding which will hopefully be once in a lifetime. It helps though if you can justify wearing them again after the wedding. That’s why I decided to go for silver heels instead of blue even though I thought the pop of color would be prettier.

Girl, I was really about to be the biggest pro-splurge voice ever. I am ALL about splurging for the wedding, because it is only one day and you don’t ever want to regret it. That having been said, if they’re uncomfortable, please please please please don’t do it to yourself. Uncomfortable shoes can really ruin your entire day, demeanor, everything. I vote keep searching (*wince* I’m sorry, Miss Panda, I know that’s not what you want to hear) and if you find some that are a little pricey but COMFORTABLE, then splurge away!

@Miss Panda: What if you got these in white and then dyed them?
