Bridal Party Portraits in Quarry
All of these photos are thanks to the one and only Amilia, of Amilia Photography.
Caution, everyone. There’s a picture-heavy post ahead.
After all of our guests had left to enjoy a cocktail hour on the patio back at Graystone Quarry, it was time to head back to finish up some of our wedding-party pictures. At the time, it seemed a bit excessive because we had already spent about 20 minutes doing first-look pictures and another 15 minutes taking bridal-party portraits before the ceremony. However, I completely trusted our photographer. Amilia loves to use natural outdoor light, and describes the time just before sunset as a particularly lovely time to take photos outside. Since it was much cooler and everyone was a little more relaxed than we had been before the ceremony, she took advantage of it to get some group shots of the guys…
…and all the brothers together, too.
Next, we did some group shots of my girls and me.
Then we got our crew back together for some final fun pictures.
Mr. Blue Moon got his time in the spotlight as well and was much less nervous about it than I was. Seriously, he’s a natural, and I know his work in public health is his passion…but I think modeling menswear could definitely be a fallback if he ever needed one.
And as our wedding party headed back via golf cart to the Hillside Pavilion to join our guests for cocktail hour, we snuck in our last round of couple photos. It was actually very nice to spend some more quiet time with Mr. Blue Moon before hitting up our reception. That first hour or so of being married really felt extraordinary.
Bottom line: I am not at all sad that we spent time both before and after the ceremony taking photos with our bridal party, and with each other. It allowed us to capture some of the emotions we were feeling both before and after the wedding. It also gave all of us some quiet time to relax before starting the biggest party we’ve ever hosted. From the sweetest speeches we’ve ever heard to some fancy dance-floor moves, it’s all coming up!
