Howdy folks!! Sorry to keep you waiting for these next recaps. Mr. D and I just moved into our first post-wedding place and are still unpacking and trying to figure out where the heck everything is!! Things have finally settled down, so I have for you today the post about myself and my ladies getting pretty. I will say now, as a disclaimer, I don’t remember a whole lot from this part of the day. I think that the flutters were working their way into my belly and I was concentrating on getting through the morning without any stress or worry. Because of this, there are not any pictures of my bridesmaids getting dressed, nor are there any of Mr. D and the groomsmen! So, without further ado, here is how my morning went:
I awoke the next morning by MOH A and BM S softly shaking me awake, which I was surprised at because these ladies like to usually jump in bed yelling and laughing. Typically they don’t care if Mr. D is also in there or not, so to not have him in bed you would think that kind of waking would be guaranteed. However, they were gentle with the bride and I was shocked to find that I had managed to sleep the entire night—midnight to 7:30 am.
The morning was not exactly peaceful, though. I found out later that one of my bridesmaids had been washing her hair and her spray tan had started to run in streaks down her back. While I was peacefully sleeping, MOH A and BM S were dealing with a (almost) hysterical bridesmaid. They managed to fix her up, wake me up, and we all began to get up and ready to head to our hair appointments. Myself and BM J were the first ones up for our appointment and since the hair place was literally right across the street, we headed over while I sent MOH A on the hunt a Dr. Pepper for me. They were also kind enough to bring me a bagel with blueberry cream cheese.
I had my hair and makeup done while chit-chatting with the ladies in the salon and my bridesmaids—who were taking turns flitting in and out of the place.

BM S and I needed to hit up the reception hall to bring the cupcakes for the cupcake tower, and then we headed over to the church to make our time. You see, the men had been instructed to be there at noon, and the rest of the wedding party (us, moms, grandmas, etc.) had been instructed to be there at one. Before I went in, BM S went in to make sure that the men were out of the way and that there would be no crossing of the paths between myself and Mr. D. I got squirreled away in a different room, and, before I knew it, our photographer was there and it was time for me to get dressed.

My dress hanging up, just waiting to be put on (Those are some bright colors in the church, but I loved them! So springy!)
I had not one, but two different pairs of wedding shoes.

I’m trying to figure out what is going on back there”¦
Turns out my bra was being stubborn and was not staying in place, despite being assured by the saleswoman that sold it to me that it would.
Naturally it made sense for them to then attack it from the front
I was super amused by how lady-like this appeared.
Luckily that problem quickly fixed itself (at least for the time-being) and it was time to get the final touches on—like my shoes.
”¦and the veil that the beautiful Mrs. Raccoon loaned me”¦
MOH A was kind enough to fix the necklace that I borrowed from her”¦
And, attach a bracelet that my grandmother had given me. It actually belonged first to my great-grandmother, who passed away when I was young (but I do have some memories of her), so it was nice to have a piece of the family with me.
And before I knew it:
I was a bride.
Next up: Some glimpses at the menfolk and an exchange of some special items.
