Apple-y Ever After: Morning at Last

We woke up the morning of August 26th fairly early. There was a lot to do! Mr. CA and I walked down to Madison Park to grab coffee and take out cash to tip vendors. It was a lovely morning, we were the only ones that seemed to be up and about, and I felt very relaxed and happy. I was getting married! So surreal. It was like in those Disney movies when the sun is out, the birds are chirping, and the princess is dancing around singing to the wildlife. Except I was in jeans and a T-shirt, I hadn’t washed my hair that morning, and the only wildlife around was an old, grouchy raccoon that most certainly could not talk. And I’m not a princess. Whatever.

We got home, we stuffed our cash into envelopes, I took a shower, and then I headed over to the Seattle Tennis Club. Time to get ready!

I ended up getting to the Club super early. I had told the ladies to be there around 11:30, since they would all be in charge of their own hair and makeup and I imagined they would want time to either go somewhere or just do it themselves. I can’t remember what time I got there, but I think it was around 10:00 AM. There wasn’t really anyone around when I arrived, just some old people in their workout clothes wandering around the Club, so I settled into the changing room and tried to relax, double- and triple-checking to make sure I had everything (like the ring!). It was sort of nice, being there by myself before everything got super hectic.

The ladies (and gentlemen, I am told) began to arrive, and we had lunch served to both the bridesmaids and groomsmen in their respective rooms. The ladies all hung out for a while and chatted, and when my lovely soon-to-be-auntie arrived, the bridal prep started!

Someone tried to get me to eat some fruit (probably my mom). It didn’t really happen—I wasn’t hungry at all that morning.

My mother-in-law. Isn’t she the cutest??

I wore a robe that was gifted to me at a “lingerie” shower. It is SO comfortable. I love it.

Me: keep the food away from my dress!

Team effort

The ladies arrived all dolled up and ready to go! As I was getting my hair and makeup done, they changed into their dresses.

Vogue. Or, falling asleep. Either one.

Nothing too exciting—just lots of chatting and eating and drinking champagne. I think my sister practiced her MOH speech, and I tried not to stress about keeping us on schedule. As Auntie was finishing up my makeup, Sarah arrived to start with pictures, and I was getting closer and closer to saying “I do.”

Did you have some time to yourself the morning of your wedding? Were you able to eat more than a bite of pineapple?

I can not get over how much your blonde bridesmaid (first on the left) looks like a school friend of mine. The BM dresses and your hair and makeup are lovely. I’m not married yet but I’m definitely maing time to have my last unwed breakfast on my own.

I know it’s weird an overly sentimental but I really want a last breakfast in my own because once I’m married I’ll be eating breakfast with Mr Bee every day and then when we have kids there won’t be time for me to slip away for breakfast on my own.

So yeah, I just want a fruit salad with whipped cream, half a slice of french toast with syrup, lightly cooked bacon and fried eggs with a runny yolk and a glass of ice cold passion fruit juice. Not too much to ask…right?

@BridieBea: that sounds like an awesome breakfast! But don’t worry… you may still get breakfast on your own in the future. I have it on my own all the time because I get up after Mr. FC is gone and my mother has hers by herself because she always got up before all her 9 children and husband. She always really enjoyed being alone and reading her newspaper and enjoying her bagels. 🙂

CA, I’m so happy you are posting recaps finally! I have been waiting to see how your wedding turned out ever since I was applying to be a blogger. 😀

@BridieBea: Awww! But just remember, you can (and should!) definitely eat breakfast alone sometimes! I generally eat breakfast at my desk in my office. Haha!

@Mrs. Funnel Cake: You are so sweet!
