Gifting My Seven Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids are more than just close friends, they are actually family—no really, five out of seven of them are my first cousins, and the other two I have been friends with for 15+ years. So they have been “holding me down” for a long time. I knew I wanted something sentimental, but also something they could still use after the wedding.

I had two main ideas. It was to either to get them all a Pandora bracelet or a Tiffany bracelet. The main problem with that is half of them already had either one or both. So it would’ve been extremely wack to give someone something they already had just for the sake of my wedding. So I switched it up completely. Because their dresses came with a free jewelry set already, I skipped that and went another route.

My gifts were a mix of DIY and purchased items. After they were wrapped and put in pretty bags they turned out to be a hit. All the girls were crying at our rehearsal dinner saying it was too much, but I didn’t think it was enough. Do you guys remember that fab bridal shower they gave me? And my bachelorette party was awesome too. (I haven’t forgotten to share that with you.)

OK, well enough of my talking. Here’s everything I gave them…

Cute and Cost Effective Personalized Hangers

This project was a little tedious only because, surprisingly, those stickers are SUPER strong, so the placement of them had to be mapped out perfectly (easier done with odd-letter names). I still have little pieces of those stickers stuck to my now “craft tweezers.” The hangers were purchased from Bed Bath and Beyond, and the sticker letters were purchased from Jo-Ann Fabrics. I underestimated how many packs I would need and ended up having to make two more trips to pick some up. I used one roll of ribbon to add a cute little touch to match their dresses.

  • 2 packs of hangers – $8.99 each with two 20% off coupons, $14.38
  • 7 packs of glitter sticker letters – $2.50 (40% off entire purchase coupon from Jo-Ann), $17.50
  • 2 spools of ribbon, $4
  • Total cost: $34.88 or $5.13 per hanger

Personalized Wine Glasses

These were my favorite. I couldn’t get a super clear picture of them, but the decals were purchased through an AMAZING Etsy seller, Personalized Jewellz. Julie was INCREDIBLY sweet to work with and so fast! She even did a custom request for me (you will see below). I made a little “uh oh” with one of the decals, and she quickly rushed me out another. I added the small purple bling stones later on. The glasses were purchased from Bed Bath and Beyond (those 20% off coupons come in handy).

  • 2 packs of red wine glasses from Bed Bath & Beyond – $9.99 each with two 20% off coupons, $15.98
  • 9 decals (1 for me and 1 for Mama W), $44.00
  • 1 pack of purple rhinestone stick-ons, $3.00
  • Total Cost: for 9 glasses, $48.98 or $6.99 each

Simple Charm Bracelets

This was not planned, and was purchased the Thursday before the wedding. Like I said earlier, the jewelry the girls wore came with their dresses, so it wasn’t on the radar to purchase any more. But they didn’t have bracelets to wear, and I figured they could wear this one because of its simplicity, and the fact that it’s something that could be worn after. I ran into Jo-Ann Fabrics to purchase a unity candle and saw these on sale (and of course I had a coupon), and said why the heck not.

Total Cost: $17.50 or $2.50 each

Victoria’s Secret Kimono Robes

I fell victim to wanting the girls to get ready in an outfit I chose. I don’t care. I knew they would like them and wouldn’t mind. And heck, I’m pretty sure they would’ve been running around my mom’s house butt naked the morning of the wedding, so this was for sure an upgrade. Plus, they can wear them after. Bridesmaid S sent me a Snapchat of her wearing hers last week. I politely responded “Can you please send that to your little boyfriend?” Ahahaha.

Since purchasing these from Victoria’s Secret, the lilac color I purchased for the girls has sold out, but I did purchase a white one for myself.

Sneak preview of the ladies and me wearing the robes

I ended up paying $39.50 for each robe. But get this—you know how Victoria’s Secret gives those secret rewards cards all the time? I scored one for $50! That ish never happens to me. I always get $5 & $10 off—like that’s really gonna help me save, Vicky? So with free shipping and my $50 off I ended up getting these for a pretty good deal.

Total Cost: 8 robes $266.00 or $33.25 each

Monogrammed Tote Bags

The southern Florida girl in me came out, and I knew I had to have something monogrammed to give to the girls. Again, these are something that they would be able to use the day of the wedding and after. The monogram iron on decals were a custom order again from Etsy seller Personalized Jewellz. I was too lazy to look for the size I wanted, and just asked was it something she did? She replied yes, and it was on. They are simple iron-on decals that came sized at  4.5″ x 6″. They were actually pretty large once I got them ironed on.

  • Decals, $70.00 or $10 each
  • 2 packs of canvas bags plus 1 individual bag, $25.00 from Jo-Ann (no longer on the site)
  • Total Cost: $95.00 or $13.57 each

This is everything shown together (minus the robes plus one extra goodie on the side). Again, Jo-Ann and Hobby Lobby were the devil during my gift-buying trips. I found those little Bridesmaid cosmetic bags for $3.99 each. Inside I put little packs of tissues inside with their initials for $0.59 each. Needless to say, they all used the tissue the day of the wedding.

This is what the final product looked like all bagged up and ready to go for the rehearsal dinner.

Grand Total for Everythin: $495.00 or $70.00 for each bridesmaid

Not only was I pleased with the gifts, but the girls loved them too. Especially since it’s rather difficult to find personalized items because most of them don’t have your “everyday” names. Granted, none of them are named Bonequisha, they just aren’t common. Heck, it’s difficult to find my generic name (because of the damn “y” my mom threw in there).

Bridesmaid gifts, I learned, are tricky because you don’t want to be cheap, but you don’t want to break your wedding budget on something someone may or may not think about after.

What kind of gifts did you do? All purchased? DIY? I want to hear about them.

Next up, groomsmen and parent gifts.

That’s really sweet that your bridal party is comprised of women that you’ve known for so long. I’m so impressed you had the energy to DIY their gifts! And I love the robe. I don’t know why it took me so long to discover robes, but I’m all about them now!

What a sweet gift! I’ve been having a hard time deciding what to gift my ladies (and gents). It’s so hard to select a gift for the people that have been there through one of the most important times of your lives (and beyond that). How can you pick something when you want to get them ALLLL the things? It’s so hard. I love what you ended up choosing. Practical, yet so thoughtful.

Those are adorable! I love every item in the gift, and I especially love that you thought about each item and how your bridesmaid would use it both during the wedding and after. Perfect!
