A Foxy Fête: Pretty Women

With all the bridesladies’ hair done and with my champagne in hand, it was finally time for Breezy B to get to work on my hair. The day really started to pick up at this point, and before I knew it, Laura and Alicia from Exclamation Imagery showed up ready to get their photo on. Such perfect timing! Alicia headed over to check out where the boys were just starting to reconvene and get ready, and I settled into my chair as Breeze got to work and Laura documented.

About a half hour into my updo, I realized that I was starting to feel rather peckish. Everyone and their mother goes on about the importance of actually eating on your wedding day—and believe you me, I ate my fair share of eggs and potatoes that morning, but apparently not nearly enough. I came prepared with several Kashi granola bars, but before I got the chance to open one and is if on cue, Jamie showed up with a delectable spread of fruits and cheeses (oh yes, and OJ and champagne)!

So…yeah, I indulged.

One of the things I remember about this moment was that my mom made an appearance after returning from her nail appointment, looked at my delicious spread, and jokingly commented, “Well that’s not fair. I didn’t get quite as nice of a plate as you did!”

“Well…no, Mom. Because I’m the bride.”

I think that was the only time I actually uttered that phrase that day, and I have to admit, it was kind of fun. 😉 I claimed my title and wore it proudly! (And yes, I shared my grub!)

In the meantime, my ladies were busy prettying themselves up and getting their things together so they could all change into their dresses in the bridal suite when it was time.

Officiant Em worked her makeup skills on MOH Copper!

Why, hello, silky matching robes.

Love this one of Brideslady M!

Bridesladies M and Bunny Love were even sweet enough to do a last-minute steam on my dress before I slipped it on—thanks to M for hooking me up with that one!

And then, with a few last-minute touches, my hair was done and I was well on my way to becoming a bride!

You might have noticed that my laptop makes a lot of appearances in these photos. No, I wasn’t blogging (gasp!), but pretty much the entire time I was getting my hair done, I was also fiddling with the software for our faux-to booth—which I promise I’ll share a ton about soon!! (OK, I also may have been seeing if my last post as a Miss had gone up yet, too.) (Oh, and playing “Call Me Maybe” for the hundredth time that morning.)

With everyone’s hair and makeup done and with a few minutes to spare before it was officially “go time,” it seemed like an incredibly opportune time for champagne and a photo shoot…two of my most favorite things ever.

Don’t Brideslady Bunny Love and MOH Blondie look like such rock stars here?!

I’m obsessed with this series of pictures—those damn balloons were way more trouble than they were worth!

One thing I loved about the room we turned into the bridal suite was that it had a decent sized porch that I ended up spending most of my morning on and around. It also had a staircase leading to the upstairs porch, which happened to be right outside of my mom and step-dad’s room. Laura initially had a fun idea to take a picture of the girls and me on the steps, but logistics and MOH Copper’s slight fear of heights made it a bit difficult—so we decided to use the upper porch instead. Precarious situations all around!

She was seriously such a trooper, though…she stayed well away from the balcony until the second Laura took the pictures—and seriously, you would never know!

We must have been having more fun than I realized, because all of a sudden we had about zero time until the first look (according to the timeline, at least!). As slow as the day had gone by earlier and as much as I tried my hardest to soak it all in, I couldn’t believe it was already time to get dressed. I’m a huge lover of the little things, and while I was obviously excited to see Foxy and finally become his wife…a part of me was sad that the morning was almost over. I don’t get nearly enough girl time with these ladies—and never with them all in one place—and I just wanted it to last forever!

One of my most favorite pictures!

Alas, my dress was calling my name from the other room…stay tuned!

I love your ribbon headband – haven’t been able to find one that perfect size. Do you mind me asking where you were able to find that beauty?
