Made in the Shade: Second Location Pictures

We had plenty of time before we needed to be at the reception venue, so we drove around in the party bus and enjoyed the high of newly wedded bliss.  Mr. Ball Cap and I did want to try and capture a few outdoor shots (we were hoping for snow—as you well know by now!), so we scouted a few locations prior to the big day.

We wanted a location that was on the way to the reception venue and that would offer a fun backdrop. A local restaurant, Teibel’s, has huge evergreens surrounding their property and, during the holidays, they cover them in lights. It was perfect! Well, almost.

By the time we made it there, the temperature had begun to drop and the wind was gusting. Not exactly ideal conditions for outdoor pics. Since you only live once, Mr. BC and I went for it. Our photographer ran out and set up his equipment and got one of the groomsmen to hang on to the light so it wouldn’t blow over. We got the OK and ran out of the bus, me clutching my veil to my head.

Even though we weren’t able to have the whole party involved, it was still a fun time that resulted in some memorable shots.

Some of the lights look like hearts!

Who says you can’t go ugly on your wedding day?!

I really wanted one of those pictures where the bride and groom are kissing under her veil. Given the size of mine, this shouldn’t have been a problem. I wasn’t exactly counting on the crazy wind factor!

We struggled a bit getting it over both of our heads and not snagging it on my bouquet.

Wish we were turned in more toward the camera, but we got one!

I like this one except we aren’t looking in the same direction!

Funky lighting

At this point, I was f-f-f-f-freezing and Mr. BC said his face was hurting from smiling so much! We rushed back to the bus, and we were off to the reception venue.

Are you planning on going to a second location for photos?

Haha, I love that you and the mister got goofy for some pictures! We always tend to make silly faces in candid shots too, nice to bring that personality into the wedding too! 🙂

I got the Virginia dress too!! Now tell me, did you have issues with the blusher on the veil being too heavy? I feel like mine was plastered to my face when i tried it on. Did it get better with your hair done? I saw you didnt have a tiara or anything, which i bought thinking it would bring the veil off my face…
