Action shot of joking about how awkward this is
The Beatles song was a compromise, but it worked out great.
Then it was time to jam. Robert worked his magic and got some great photos in a dark-ass room, and Rachel played a nice mix of different eras and genres—but heavy on the late ’90s classics, naturally. #middleschooldances
Yes, that’s a bride drinking a Bud Heavy. #class
There is so much happening in this photo. I love it.
The best man has a “Billy Jean” routine. It was almost like seeing MJ himself.
The night flew by, and when Rachel played “Kiss from a Rose” (our agreed-upon signal), Ben and I knew our departure was imminent. I danced with my oldest friends to the song that was my very favorite in sixth grade, trying to take it all in.

And then it was time. In lieu of a fancy exit, Ben and I had requested that the last song be—what else—Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You.”

This moment is one of my very favorite memories of our wedding. Everyone who was still there—even my colleagues—got on the dance floor. I never thought I’d see the day! About halfway through the song, our DJ announced us as Mr. and Mrs. one last time, we gave a big wave to the room, and ran out to our waiting Town Car.
And that was that! The wedding was over, and our marriage had officially begun…but I’m not quite finished with you yet, bees! Brunch, thanking our guests, and an island honeymoon—next time on Sixpence recaps.
