Bamboo for Two: Cocktail Hour

After our group pictures, our guests went inside for cocktail hour, while we hid upstairs. We had an array of wines and beers for people, as well as a mixed berry prosecco martini, which was delicious!

I am so happy that some people actually used the striped straws that I bought.

Along with the drinks, we had passed hors d’oeuvres.

I really love going through these pictures and seeing different groups of people mixing and interacting with each other. It’s just so great to see all of our different circles coming together.

About halfway through the cocktail hour, PBear and I made our grand entrance. We didn’t want to do a huge entrance, so we didn’t have the bridal party involved, but it was really nice to have an entrance. (You can see I changed to my flats before this.)

I just remember walking into the room and seeing everyone’s smiling faces, and it was lovely.

I have yet to see any of the pictures people were taking, though…

Then PBear gave a quick speech welcoming everyone and thanking them for being there. He talked about how a wedding is about making a commitment in front of a community and that everyone there was our community. Furthermore, we wouldn’t be here without their support and that the reception was for them. It was really sweet. Good job, PBear.

Then we got swarmed with people.

I’m pretty sure I’m telling this adorable couple that they have to get married next.

Soon, though, our cocktail hour was winding down, and we were moving slowly to the adjoining room for the reception. Because I love you guys, I will show the most ridiculous picture of me ever. This is apparently how I tried to get PBear’s attention that we were moving over to the main room.

It didn’t work BTW.
