Cranberry Centerpieces

We’ve all seen wedding centerpieces filled with apples, lemons, limes even marshmallows! If you’re having a winter wedding, what about using cranberries? They’re a season appropriate festive touch to a holiday affair.

Cranberry filled centerpiece from Thanksgiving 2003.

Oceanspray has a ton of ideas on how to incorporate cranberries into a party – from decor, to cocktail recipes (cosmos, flirtinis and more oh my!), to food recipes (for favors). You could have an entire cranberry themed wedding!

We used cranberries in our fall theme decor. Filled up hurricanes with one tall candle and dozens of cranberries – a very nice touch!

I just talked to my florist last night…I plan to use cranberries and small red “crabapples” in my cocktail hour centerpieces and cranberries in the bottom of hurricanes with pilar candles on the tables at cocktail hour!

Oh, how fun! So fall, so CHRISTMAS! I love it! 😀 Not something you’re used to seeing, either, which I love! 🙂 I adore those roses!

They aren’t in season for very long, so be sure to research buying them at the appropriate times, but I think they are great!

My wedding is Saturday and we are hanging cranberry strings above the head table with rose buds at the bottom. So pretty 🙂

I’m trying to use cylinder vases filled with cranberries in water, with a floating candle on top, but the cranberries are floating. Any ideas on how to get the cranberries to stay at the bottom of the vase?

Cranberries float…that’s they way they grow. I found that out the hard way, and tried every method I could think of to get them to stay down in our cylinder vases. Our centerpiece idea was similar to yours. I even tried freezing them. Your best bet would be to use fake cranberries…you can get them from your local crafts store or search online.
