Gettin’ Pretty, Take Two

H’OK, guys! Remember a couple of months back when I did a DIY makeup trial? Well, after reading everyone’s helpful comments and suggestions as to ways I could improve on my look, I’m back with an update!

Just as a refresher, here’s what I originally came up with:

Since my last trial, my skin has lightened to the color it’ll most likely be for the wedding (fall and winter months turn me pretty pale!), and I also ran out and bought a couple of new products: one was black liquid liner by Maybelline, and the other was some long-lasting coral-colored lipstick, also by Maybelline. The only things missing from my most recent trial are my falsies (so just imagine my lashes being just a bit more lush and dramatic than pictured) and a bit of brow filler. OK, enough talking! Here’s the new (and improved?) Miss A:

IDK why I’m not smiling here. I look so sad! Anyway, this photo is in natural light.

So, what do you guys think of the changes? Were they for the better? For the worse? Just different? Anything else you all recommend I try to improve on my look before the big day? We’re 68 days out now”¦invites going out this week! EEK!! 🙂

Well, both of the photos are very different lighting so it’s a little hard to compare… I think they will look great on pro photography!

I think the first one is nice and natural, but if you want to play up the drama a bit for the wedding you should! It will look great in photos, especially the eye makeup with falsies like you want. Rock those red lips with a smile lady!

Like the others say, just watch the blending of the foundation into your neck. You can do the neck and décolleté area if you need to with foundation to match it more.

You’re an absolutely beautiful girl but I have to say… I’m a pro MUA and I can tell form this picture that your foundation color is wrong for your skin. It’s too pink =/ You definitely want your foundation to match your neck.

You have such a lovely face. Black eyeliner is great but I would soften if by blending with eye shadow on the upper and lower lids . Use a darker shadow in the crease of your eye and along the rim of your top eyelashes. Then use a light color on the lid. Blue eyes look lovely with purples, pinks, deep or midnight blue,rust,copper,peach..depending on if you like warm or cool colors. Play with different eyeliner colors deep purple would make your eyes pop and also browns. I prefer warmer tones on you, but follow what you LIKE. You are very pretty..

I love the way the blue shirt makes your blue eyes really pop. I definately would consider a blue stone jewerly whether it be earrings or a necklace! Beautiful job!

I love this. I am a make-up artist and do a lot of Bridal Make-up. I think this is beautiful, and will give you that soft feminine “bridal” look that you see in pictures. I think what people don’t realize about bridal make-up is that you will loose quite a bit of the “made-up” look in your pictures. I think the face, blush, lips and eye shadow are absolutely perfect. I would however, add a touch more liner on the top lash line for definition. I hope this helps!
