Party Presents: Groomsmen

When it came to gifting the groomsmen, I gave Sparky free rein. I certainly gave him a few suggestions, but ultimately I left the decision up to him.

There were a couple ideas that I contributed and they had to do with the guys’ day-of clothing.

The first thing was their bow tie. I knew I wanted them to have royal blue bow ties, so Sparky and I gifted them to the guys.

The other part of their day-of wear that we purchased for them were their socks.

You see, I saw photos like this and was smitten. Sparky also happens to like argyle socks, so we knew that we had to get some for our guys.

From there, Sparky was on his own to decide what he wanted to get as the guys’ actual gifts.

In the end, I suggested Sparky look at watches since he is a watch guy (also a shoe guy, fancy sock guy, and a bow tie opinion-having guy) and he took that idea and ran with it.

For Waffle, Taco, and Bagel, Sparky chose this watch:

Sparky decided to get a slightly different watch for Best Man Biscuits (his brother):

Sparky wanted to get the guys something else as well, but couldn’t find anything he really wanted to gift them. For a while he tossed around the idea of getting them fancy pocket squares and had the idea to go to a shop in London during his layover on his South Africa work trip. Unfortunately, because of flight delays he didn’t end up with enough time to leave the airport and go in search of them. I assured him that the watches, socks, and bow ties would be plenty.

These gifts really do feel very Sparky driven, and I’m happy with what he ended up picking.

Who picked out your groomsmen gifts and what did you give them?

I think these were great gifts! I love the idea of the fancy pocket squares straight from a quaint shop in London, too. 🙂

    Love the socks!

I wish FI liked the idea of choosing traditional groomsmen gifts. I would be all over that pocket square. Especially from London, oooh fancy!

But unfortunately, our groomsmen don’t get much opportunity to wear formal attire. So, non traditional gifts it is.

I think we are going with a hand picked 6 pack of craft beers and maybe a nice travel cooler and a cool beer key.

The ubiquitous sock shot; love it! Lucky you for having a guy that’s interested in the details (I do not!)!

Our guys are all weapons enthusiasts and FI works in the industry so we’re gifting them some tie made out of fancy gun-lovers-would-only-know-what-the-hell-it-is material and I found some tie clips on Etsy that are little M4 Carbines. Score. I’d like to do something else, especially given all that I’m giving my ladies. I think a bottle of righteous scotch would probably fit the bill.

Great gifts. I love the socks idea. My husband picked his gifts out, but I coached him so to speak. He gifted his groomsmen socks, custom and personalized beer steins, shot glasses (for the day of) and a few misc items.

@MrsCVsomeday: @pixiestix6089: We were both pretty bummed that he didn’t manage to get them!
@jessc4343: I think most guys would love a bottle of righteous scotch!
    @daniellekira: I definitely gave hints, that’s for sure. 🙂

Love the blue bow ties! I considered having them for our wedding, but couldn’t really find any pictures to help me visualize it so we ended up with classic black.
I can’t wait to see how they turned out!
