After our brief stopover in Germany, we headed to Prague for four days. Prague is a really magical place, in my opinion. It’s a really beautiful city—in fact, I think it kind of looks like a fairytale came true.
Do you see all the blue sky in these pictures? After a week and a half with grey skies and rain, we finally got to see the sky in Prague, and I went a little bit picture happy because of it.
The first day at Prague, we went on what I call the “Towers Tour” of Prague. We climbed almost every single tower that exists in Prague and looked out at the amazing sights. It really makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
The next day we went to the Prague Castle, which is the largest ancient castle in the world. The place is huge, and way way way up on top of the hill, but I think it’s worth the climb. St. Vitus’s Cathedral is a really beautiful place. PBear and I really enjoyed the stained glass windows, which are just stunning.
Old Prague isn’t that big of a place, and so it was really nice to be able to explore a lot of the smaller parks and locations. I really liked seeing all of the random peacocks that ruled the place. They just lounged around in the sun—that is the life. Also, one of the gardens has this gigantic creepy stalactite wall with hidden animals inside. We had a lot of fun trying to find all of the animals there.
Unfortunately, our honeymoon was coming to an end. To celebrate our last day, we booked a jazz cruise along the Vltava River. It was a really beautiful way to end the trip. We circled around the river a few times while watching the sunset and enjoying a great live band. It was really cool the see Prague transform into a twinkle of lights.
Did you do something special to end your honeymoon trip?
