Iowanna Marry You: Strike A Pose

Now that we were husband and wife (hip-hip-HOORAY!), it was time for us take the fun pictures we had been looking forward to. First, there was one quick order of business:

I wanted to make sure that my dress was already bustled when we left because I knew that we would be heading straight from pictures to the reception. I had my childhood best friend and her mom come to my final fitting to learn how to bustle my dress, and they were more than happy to! I really admire how they were so eager to do it, considering I had a 14 point bustle that was kind of a pain to do. I am so thankful for them though, because they were quick and efficient!

Once that was done, we all loaded up into our respective cars (we carpooled to the reception, but our reception site offered transportation from the reception site back to the hotel, it was great!), and headed out to a location that Jenn, our photographer, had picked out.

When we got there, Jenn got immediately to work, getting some individual pictures of Mr. D and I:

I got these sweet shades for $2.50 each from Target. I was pretty impressed with them.

A quick shot of our shoes, by this point I had changed out of my four-inch ceremony heels and into my comfy Toms!

And naturally we had to recreate one of our favorite engagement shots in our wedding clothes!

Once we got those quick bride and groom ones (we had something else planned for later) out of the way, we moved onto the photos with the wedding party:

I love how the wedding party stands out from the red brick. Plus, how Iowa is a barn? I loved it!

The guys really wanted a jumping pictures, but the girls”¦well, not so much. So Jenn totally played on that and had us just stand and let them jump. The results were pretty funny!

I already shared a photo very similar to this one on my first post back as a Mrs., but I also love this one! We are getting this one on a large canvas and are putting it in our living room!

Once we were done as a group, it was time for Mr. D and I to get our goof on with our individual sides of the wedding party. Mr. D went first with the groomsmen extraordinaire:

Then it was my turn with my lovely ladies:

(For those of you wondering, yes—this is a total “Bridesmaids” reference here. This is now hanging in my bedroom in a collage.

Once we had our group pictures completed, we were almost ready to head to the reception. There was just one more thing to do.

All photos are from An Unforgettable Memory Photography.

UP NEXT: The wedding party gets their solo time with the Doilies.
