Once upon a time in July, we were debating between having long or round tables at our wedding. I loved long tables, but I had a lot of people telling me they wouldn’t look right, they require too many centerpieces, people’s knees would touch, and on and on the reasons went. So I wrote a post about it and asked your opinion. I’m so glad you all encouraged me to follow my heart and go with what I wanted.
Here is what our reception area looked like with the long tables:
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how they worked out. The family style dining experience encouraged our guests to talk with people around them and to just relax. You can’t really tell from the picture, but no one was cramped. Each guest had enough space, but was still close enough to everyone around them to have multiple conversations. Nice and cozy.
This is a picture of a wedding there with round tables. Still looks great. I would have been in a state of absolute bliss no matter what tables we had that day, but I’m glad we went with what we wanted. They didn’t cost us more. I didn’t hear of any guests knocking knees. And we got the look we were going for. Mission accomplished.
Do you have a strong preference for table shape? Why?
