One Man, One Wife, One Love Through Life: Ceremony Part I

As guests started arriving, they slowly made their way over to the south lawn. It’s a bit of a trek, but the weather was perfect, not too hot with an occasional breeze.

We kept the decor simple and placed a small table at the end of the aisle with a tray full of programs, and a frame advising our guests to sit where they please.

Remember all those “foofers” (AKA poms) I made? MOH Sassy’s husband ended up handing them out; however, I completely forgot to bring something nice to hold them in. Coordinator to the rescue! While the basket didn’t match the wooden tray, it was a lot better than a USPS box.

Sassy’s husband was also equipped with a basket of coloring books and crayons, which the parents loved as they kept their little ones entertained.

With all of our guests seated it was time to start the processional.

Mr. Macs and our reverend were up first. What is up with the ridiculous face? I think our groomsmen rubbed off on him from earlier.

Followed by Mac’s mother, his father and his wife, and my grandparents.*

I was really surprised by the red bow tie and cummerbund. I thought our colors were pretty clear given our invitations. His wife apologized profusely afterward for not making the connection. C’est la vie. I ended up changing it to a dark purple in Photoshop, though, before ordering prints.

With the family in place it was the groomsmen’s turn, followed by the bridesmaids.

Sadly, the heel caps didn’t help the ladies either. They kept telling themselves “Don’t fall, don’t fall” and unfortunately spent a lot of time looking at the ground in front of them.

All while Mr. Macs looked on, as he knew what came next…

*My grandfather’s niece provided my grandmother a little more stability up until they reached the aisle.

Up next, it’s my turn down the aisle!
