On a Pre-Wedding Meltdown…

Oh hive, last Saturday was so much fun. While talking about our November timeline Mr. Toadstool took out his cell phone’s calendar and started counting the times he’ll be able to come before the wedding, and I started counting the weeks till the big day—six.

Six weeks! That’s a hand and an extra finger! I started numbering the things I still have left to do, minor things, big things, important things, all kinds of things. Next thing I know Mr. Toadstool started hugging me while I sobbed, a desperate, I-can-barely-breathe kind of sob.

So I think I might have gotten a bit overwhelmed by the proximity of all this. Being honest, I’ve been working on this wedding for the past 14 months; whenever I saw something I wanted to do I could always say “I’ll do that later” (procrastination at its finest!), but now there’s no later. I have paper flowers to make, invitations to deliver (and print, who am I kidding), centerpieces to assemble, bottles to cut, makeup trial, hair trial, engagement session (oh, wait till you hear that one), and a bridal shower to get through.

A part of me is sad the planning process will be over; I’ve had so much fun during this time that I really don’t want it to end. I’m nervous about the wedding, I’m anxious about things coming together the way I want to (something I doubt), and I’m scared the wedding will go by too fast and all this will be over sooner than I expect it.

I’ve been planning for this day for too long—it’s hard to let it go.

Did you panick before the wedding? Did/do you have a hard time letting the planning go?

There were definitely days I started to feel overwhelmed, but it will all get done and will work out in the end! Also, if someone offers to help, don’t be afraid to take it!

The reality checks suck. But you’ll get through, and ultimately, you’ll figure out what items are more important and which ones you can let go of. At six weeks, I had yet to select a makeup and hair stylist and all bridal accessories, not to mention a million more favors to make, and some other small things. I definitely freaked out, but then jumped on it. And totally take help when it’s offered!

I don’t think I ever had a breakdown, but right before the rehearsal I was alone in my car for maybe 15 minutes and found myself incredibly sad that it would all be over in 36ish hours. All the planning and that’s all I had left. It was SO fun (even if incredibly stressful at times) but I still miss it sometimes (it’s only been 3 weeks, haha) but now I’m kinda bored!

Oh it will be very, very weird after the wedding. I think I’m going to sit down and wonder, um… what am I going to do with myself now? Everything has been so gogogogogogo, for so long, I’m definitely going to need a new project after the wedding

Aww I had a random pre-wedding meltdown too. I can’t even tell you why, I just felt upset one day and burst into tears. Glad Mr. Toadstood was there to cheer you up!! Don’t stress yourself out too much – it’s just like studying for a big exam. What won’t get done, won’t get done, but hopefully you will happily married to Mr. T at the end of this experience 🙂 that’s the goal right?

I had a pre-wedding meltdown on exactly day 51 before the wedding. I’m now 34 days until the big day and lucky havent had anymore. I dont even really know why I had it, it just kinda came and everything that was bothering me for the past 4 months came crashing out. My soon to be hubby just kinda stood their with his mouth open like where did that come from. I’m really worried about how my emotions will be the day of and what am I going to do with my time when its all over.
