Okay, so our programs don’t actually contain the program for our Ceremony, but whatever. Our ceremony is going to be pretty short, and since there are no readings or hymns, I found it hard to write a ceremony program that was more than a couple lines long, so I just left it out altogether. But I still wanted to recognize our bridal party, let guests know about how our Thai Water Ceremony was going to work, and to also thank those that deserved thanking, so I created “programs” anyway.
Here’s the step by step:
First, I created all the files in MS Word, and printed them out on cardstock, and cut them out. I was originally going to sew our programs, but then I got really scared of sewing all of a sudden and changed my mind, however I had already purchased the thread that I was going to use, so not wanting to waste it, I wrapped it around a folded card to give the outside of the program a tiny bit of color.
Then, I secured the thread with glue dots and positioned the “main portion” of the program to the top half of the folded card.
I’ve always adored fan programs, but people always complain that there is not enough room on them to say what you want to say, so I made a sort of “modified fan” with my three insert cards. Using glue dots, I secured the back part of the fan (The “Thank You” card) onto the folded card.
Then, using an eyelet, secured the other two cards (Bridal Party, Thai Water Ceremony) onto the program.
So when you open them, the programs look like this:
The bottom portion of the cards fan out like this:
Thats basically it!
