Whew, now that I have that out of my system, I have more news.

I went to college in the great no man’s land that is the District of Columbia at the most politically active school in the nation and have gads of friends that majored in political science or criminal justice or both. This means that I have lots of friends, also known as invited guests, who work for the government in one way or the other. Um, Miss Bacon, this post is about the coolness of being on a TV show. Right, so here’s the deal: government employees with any kind of security clearance aren’t able to be filmed. That means that many of my nearest and dearest could be fired if they end up on the show, and they love my lots, but that’s not really a risk worth taking.

So the options are: be a part of Four Weddings or having my friends at the most important day of my life. No contest, the friends will always win. They are the ones that have been at my side through everything, the highs and the lows, the very best memories and the very worst ones. So with that, the Baconator and I decided to pull out of the show, and have promised that we’ll save money to take a great trip next year. I’m not going to lie and say that I wasn’t bummed out by the situation, but I know that I would have been distraught if I had chosen 15 minutes of fame over the people I love.

How would you have handled the situation? Do you think we made the right choice?

Great decision…though I’m sure it’s dissapointing. I was at a wedding with a similar group of people and I’m just imagining how difficult it would’ve been to NOT film some higher up in the Department of Defense in the middle of the dance floor wearing a sombrero…

What an awfully choice to have to make. I do think you made the right decision, after all how do you pick being on a reality tv show over friends. But it’s still too bad you couldn’t have worked something out where it was possible to not have them filmed at all or even blurred out on tv.
