The Makings Of Our Happily Ever After…

After 2 years of blogging, 5 months of editing, 582 pictures uploaded, and 188 pages later, it’s finally here! I give you my pride and joy – my wedding planning journal.

I wanted the book to have a beginning and an “end”, so there is a pattern with how I started the book and ended it. On the inner flap, I wrote a little bio about myself with my photo.

On the back inner flap, I wrote a little dedication to Mr. Snow Pea using both our photos.

On the first page of our engagement, I used the quote from “our” movie When Harry Met Sally.

On the back page, with our wedding photo.

On the cover page is a little note about why I started the journal and my induction into weddingbee.

Followed by a photo of me looking away alluding to what’s to come.

Again, the last page is a photo of us.

Here are some examples of the pages in the book. Some of these photos might be familiar to you if you’ve been following along on weddingbee.

I included all the drafts of my wedding gown sketches.

The night I met Mrs. Bee at weddingbee’s first anniversary party along with bride Carrie who Mrs. Onion featured. Coincidently, I also went to high school with her.

The cake tasting-face stabbing.

Step-by-Step photos and instructions of my DIY projects.

This is my favorite. Since I created the Bridesmaid newsletter myself, I was able to save a high resolution JPG file of it and uploaded the image as a full bleed. I laid it out so as you flip through the book, you can flip through the newsletter as it was meant to be seen.

I ended the book with my final journal entries from the rehearsal and the night before the wedding.

Right up to the point where I was getting ready on the wedding day, but not married quite yet!

WE’RE MARRIED! Thanks to Mrs. Bee’s photo!

This was more than a labor of love. I decided to blog for weddingbee, so I could help other brides out there like me – those who were also planning mostly alone, on a budget or loved DIY projects. I just wanted to thank you readers for following along all this time and I hope you’ve enjoyed it because it has certainly been memorable for me.

Now, what do I do with myself? A wedding recap book…I don’t think so!

    Hi Lisa,
I’m glad you enjoyed it. I actually never got around to blogging about the programs but I will…Just not sure when. I will try to do that soon! What do you need help with? Is there anything in particular?

Hi Snow Pea, thanks for getting back to me. I am really struggling with the formatting of the document. I am unable to download templates because I’m on a Mac (which also makes creating water bottle labels almost impossible) and am struggling to find an easy way to duplicate your beautiful layout. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I am amazed by all the DIY projects you took on. I am a freelance writer so I have the time, but none of the skills. Thanks again!
