Splitting Hairs

I’m experiencing a bit of hair indecision. (Confession time! I haven’t had a hair trial yet. I booked my hairstylist without meeting her!) Don’t worry—I will have a hair trial, eventually. But because I haven’t tried any of the hairstyles below, I’m not sure which is best for my gown, hair flower, and personal style. So, I’m looking to you ladies for recommendations and advice! You can weigh in at the end of the post.

Detailed, interwoven updos

Pros: Texture (!); lots of visual interest; matches rosette details on my gown

Cons: Seemingly time intensive; would lose some structure as the night goes on; where to put hair flower?

Loose updos

Pros: Softer, romantic look; beauty is in the imperfection; will look good as the night wears on and the bun loosens

Cons: No set spot for hair flower

Tighter, knotted buns

Pros: obvious spots for hair flower; simpler style

Cons: If the bun falls apart, the whole style goes with it; bun size may compete with similarly sized hair flower

Hive, which way would you go with my gown and hair flower?

Option 1: Detailed, interwoven updos

Option 2: Loose updos

Option 3: Tighter, knotted buns

I had a “loose” updo for my wedding and my stylist sprayed the shite out of my hair and it didn’t move. I danced like crazy and it didn’t fall. If you really want the texture, go with the loose one and seriously, they’ll shellac it to your head and then secure it with millions of bobby pins.

Loose updo! Your stylist will find the perfect way to place your hair flower.

They are all so pretty! I think ultimately pick a couple of your favourites and talk with your stylist about what will work well with your hair type and with what you want to put in your hair.

I love the loose updo. I think it would compliment your dress beautifully AND I really actually think a flower would settle in nicely!

Eek! That first photo is by my photographer!! 🙂

As for your hair, I agree with @Miss Gazelle and your stylist will have the best insight on what’s best.

Personally, I’m always drawn to the loose updos 🙂
