Snowy Inspiration

So Champ has been pretty “whatever” about the whole wedding planning process, but when it came to our first wedding day meeting he was adamant that we wait until the ceremony to see each other. I’ve seen several different opinions on this subject, and I was willing to go either way. On one hand, we could get some wonderful photo opportunities if we met before the wedding, but on the other hand I know Champ really loves the element of surprise and this would be no exception.

Unfortunately most of the inspirational photos I’ve collected along the way have been taken during the daytime and our wedding ceremony doesn’t even start until after 6. Luckily, my cousin who is also a BM has spent some time as a wedding photographer, and she happens to be the one who took our STD photo at my brother’s wedding. So Champ and I have decided that instead of jetting out right away for our honeymoon (location unbeknownst to me until departure!) we’ll stick around for some photos with the best natural backdrop we could ask for… the Rocky Mountains!

Because we’ll have the time to experiment with our surroundings, I’ve collected some of my favorite winter wedding photos for inspiration. Have any to add? Please share!

Great collection. Nice to see one of Brody’s shots listed. You have to check out photographer Sean Caytons work. He has this one incredible shot of a couple all dressed up in a tux and dress on skis. But you’ll have to email him as it is no longer on his site. It would complete this collection.

Best wishes for a great wedding, i hope you have a beautiful blizard o your wedding day!

p.s. I just about froze my fingers off shooting that ceremony in the storm:)

I’ve never seen so many mormon brides featured in one post 🙂 I can tell because of all of the sleeves, LOL. And because all of those photogs you named are my some of my all-time favorite photogs (seriously, Utah has a lot of talent). You guys are going to have such amazing photos!

Hi Ms. Champagne! Thanks for finding our pictures. I love the pictures that my wife took out on the lake. Those pictures with the sunset are actually taken on the top of the frozen lake. The bridesmaids’ shoes had open tops so their feet were just freezing! The bride had really cute snow boots on so her feet did just fine.

Aren’t the snow angel pictures just perfect? Do you think that you could convince your fiance to do that?

Just so you know, one of the links is wrong. One of the Shandro Photo links on your page takes the readers to axel photography and Grazier Photography’s link takes you to our page. It’s a small detail and I really appreciate that you take the time to link to all of your sources.

We are shooting a wedding on Valentine’s day this year. The couple is a lot of fun so we are really looking forward to it. I hope that you have a great time at your winter wedding!
