Dear weddingbee,
I recently tried to sell my designer wedding dress, veil, accessories, etc. on ebay with no success! Is there a place or website you could recommend that is the best place to try to sell your once gently used wedding items? I know there are several sites out there, but not sure which one is the best.
Thanks again!

Hello Weddingbee!
I journeyed over to Union Square last week for the infamous Running of the Brides!! And thankfully, I did find a beautiful gown for a bargain price!!
But now I’m stuck with details that bridal salons would normally take care of, such as cleaning, pressing, and alterations. I have some scuff marks on the gown and some of the embroidery has come undone on the bodice. I was wondering how brides-to-be have taken care of such issues with gowns purchased @ sample sales and etc. I do not want to get it professionally cleaned b/c I think it will be quite pricey at about $200+. Would spot cleaning work?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Bees!
I am working on the wording for our invitations and my parents have brought up a valid question for which I need some advice. My fiance is Peruvian, and as such, his full name includes his mother’s maiden name as his surname (Jose Antonio Silva Pasapera). My new last name, however, will only be Silva. My parents are concerned that if our guests (most of whom are unfamiliar with the latin surname tradition) decide to personalize gifts for us, they will mistakenly think our last name will be Pasapera. How do you recommend making our guests aware of this without depending solely on word of mouth?
Thanks in advance!
Katie
I have a question for the hive. What’s a graceful way of offering entree selections on the RSVP, so that a number is entered for each type of entree and the total is one entree per guest attending? I’m afraid that if I use blank lines with each selection that they would place checks on the lines rather than write numbers, or they would write numbers but the total will not match the number of people attending. All I could come up with is this:
*Entree selection:
Number of Chicken Entrees _______
Number of Fish Entrees _______
Number of Vegetarian Entrees _______
Number of **Kids Meals _______
*Total number of entrees should match Number Attending
**Children 12 years of age or under
Is this okay?

Hi,
I’m seeking advice on how to approach a specific money matter with my fiance. Here’s the situation.
Money has never been an issue between my fiance and I. Everything up until now has been separate, but now that we have shared expenses, I’m encountering an issue. Between the two of us, I’m the only one who has money saved up. I’ve been saving up money since my first job about 13 years ago. He’s spent every last penny of his and then some. I didn’t want to wait another 10+ years for him to save up money so we can get married, and because of that I’m forking out all the money to pay for the wedding.
Ideally, the expenses should be split between the two of us, but because of his lack of funds, it’s not. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for me to request that I be “reimbursed” by keeping the monetary gifts we receive to cover what I spent on the wedding, and the excess (if there is any) should then be deposited into our joint account. I want to know if other people think this is reasonable. I know gifts are meant for the both of us, but so should expenses. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is this a reasonable request? If it is, what is a good way to approach it?
Thanks.

Dear Weddingbee,
I was hoping for a few cute ideas for women with short hair. All the hair ideas I see in magazines are for long hair. I have chin length hair, and don’t plan on growing it out just for the wedding. It wouldn’t be me.
So I was hoping that maybe you, the other bees, or readers have run across anything.
Sincerely,
Maggie
Dear WeddingBee,
I have been searching for a wedding dress to wear to my destination wedding in August. Since we are getting married on the beach, I want an ivory, knee-length dress but I am having such a hard time finding a dress like that. The dresses that are short don’t seem fancy enough to make me feel like a bride. I know something must be out there, but I need your (and your readers’) help in leading me towards my desired wedding gown.
My ideal cost for such a dress would be under $600. I know many brides are considering beach-side weddings, so any advice given may help others who don’t want to be weighed down by their wedding dresses!
Thanks!
Cindy
Hi,
I am planning to go “DIY” for my hair. I have similar hair to Minnie Driver’s (when it’s curly), but shorter. I’d like to have big, natural curls on my wedding day and pull it back in a loose “bun” of some sort, without having the top too flat (my face is oval). I would love some advice on how to achieve this. I have no idea how to use hot rollers or what product would work best in achieving a combination of sizes of loose curls. I bought some hot rollers to give it a try, but I looked like Shirley Temple - and not in a good way! My attempt at using different size curling irons was a disaster! I’m getting married on Maui, so I’m not sure if I can straighten my hair in the tropical temperature in case I need to do this to achieve smoother looking curls.
Based on a long history of unfortunate haircuts & styles, I know now that it takes someone who specializes (not just knows how to work with) in curly hair. I’d really prefer to do it myself to avoid any wedding-day disasters. There are a limited number of stylists available that I have seen deal with my type of hair. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Ana
Hi Mrs. Bee!
My fiancÆ’© and I are getting married in NYC at a church on the Upper East Side, and our plan all along was to head over to Central Park after the church to take photos with us and the wedding party. Unfortunately, we just learned that (a) you need a permit to take photos in Central Park (b) the permit costs $100, and (c) they only let you stay for 30 minutes!
I was wondering if you could start a discussion about this on WeddingBee. I’d like to know what other brides’ experiences have been like if they’ve taken photos in Central Park, and if they really enforce the 30 minute rule. I’d also love to know if other parks in the city (Battery Park in particular) have similar restrictions.
Thank you so much!!
Sarah
Hello Mrs. Bee,
I was wondering if you or the other devoted weddingbee readers could help me.
I’m in need of finding green (celery or kiwi-ish green) bridesmaid dresses for my May 2007 wedding in northern New Jersey. I’m originally from Orange County, CA, and my 3 BMs are flying in from the OC and San Francisco. Originally, my BMs had thought maybe to get this Dessy dress in the color Cypress.
