Cooking can be fun and engaging. It can also be stressful and overwhelming! ( mmm, and don’t forget- tasty!) Mostly Mr. Taffy and I find cooking to be enjoyable, but we do constantly stress out on what to make. Just coming up with ideas and meal plans can be such a chore!

Like my last post, this one was difficult to write. My dad won’t be coming to our wedding. He passed away very suddenly from a heart attack when I was 16, almost 12 years ago to this day.

I really love to exercise. I actually look at going to the gym as a treat! Don’t look at me like I am crazy, it’s true!!

Before I was laid off, I used to take four aerobics classes a week. I worked in two huge studios and was constantly moving back and forth between the two—walking about four miles a day! (Yes, I was dorky and wore a pedometer to work every day for a month.) My MOH and I were also taking belly dance lessons together once a week. Mr. Taffy lived in downtown Ann Arbor, so I would walk a few blocks to and from my car (and up a flight of super steep stairs) to visit him a few times a week. I would say that I was in pretty good shape!

Kaylie looked stunning on her wedding day! This post is all about her bridal details. Although this was a Halloween wedding, Kaylie chose a traditional look with a vintage twist. (Although she had a few spooky details!) I made her bird cage veil! She really loved it, which made me very happy.

Mr. Taffy and I had a blast at Rob & Kaylie’s Halloween wedding! I have lots of awesome spooky details to share. First up- the groom’s amazing DIY robot costume for the reception—you have to check out the awesome details on this:

The eyes lit up, and the heart lit up to an alternating pattern in order to resemble a heartbeat—how cute is that!? Rob even put real gauges and dials onto the costume:

At this point in our planning, I am 98% sure that I will be a two veil bride. I don’t want anything to cover my face during the reception, so I have been thinking about wearing something small, ivory, and ruffled instead. Do you have really sensitive skin? Do you have to be super careful about which type of cleanser and moisturizer you use, or else have to deal with crazy breakouts? Yeah, me too.

A couple of months after Mr. Taffy and I started dating, my face started to break out. Really break out, like horrible, painful, inflamed—the worst my face had ever been. I racked my brain trying to think of the cause. I didn’t switch detergent, cleanser, makeup or moisturizer. I hadn’t changed the type of birth control I was taking, or the dosage. I wasn’t stressed out any more than I had been earlier that year. My eating habits were exactly the same. The only thing that was different in my life was Mr. Taffy’s presence. Hmmm.

Lately I have been all typed out!

I can’t stop thinking about invitations, escort cards, menus, and wedding signage in general. It was becoming really difficult to imagine all of these details without having a specific font in mind. I knew that I wanted something feminine, with a vintage touch. Our Save the Date font, Helvetica, while lovely, just wasn’t going to do it for me.

This weekend, a promo booklet from Veer made its way into our mailbox. I flipped through it excitedly… although the lack of a font had been bugging me, it was one of those wedding things that I kept forgetting to take care of.
