We looked it up to make sure - avocado is a fruit!

Miss Avocado, Seattle
Age & Occupation: 23, Student
Fiance’s Age & Occupation: 26, Consultant
Engagement Date: TBD
Wedding Date: October, 2008
Venue: LDS Seattle Temple and Hotel 1000
About Me: Somehow this little farm girl found herself a genuine Pole to fall in love and eventually move away to Poland with. I am an LDS (Latter Day Saints) bride attempting to plan a private religious ceremony, ring ceremony, seated reception for 100, and an open house while coordinating for guests flying in from across the United States and as far away as Poland. I try to avoid fads, excess waste, and saturated fat. I strongly endorse photography, DDR, calorie counting, rss feeds, cooking, and utilizing your resources.

I promised you guys a post on what we’re looking for in a bee, so here goes!
I often tell people that if I were to apply to be a bee today, I’d get rejected.
There are so many talented ladies blogging in the hive! But I’ll let you guys in on a little bee secret: many of our bees are second and even third time applicants.
Why does it usually take a few applications to become a Weddingbee blogger? Most of the time, it’s because most blogs have a more ”personal blog” like tone. On your own blog, you can pretty much blog about whatever you want - because it’s mostly your friends reading, it’s all good. A Weddngbee blog is kinda dfferent: you have to write for an audience, which can be a tricky transition.

Another new bee you ask? Why yes - please help us welcome the appropriately named, Miss Pinot Noir!

Miss Pinot Noir, New York/Napa Valley
Age & Occupation: 24, Health Educator
Fiancé’s Age & Occupation: 31, Market Researcher
Engagement Date: November 10, 2007
Wedding Date: October, 2008
Venue: Auberge du Soleil (Napa, California)
About Me: I am a 24 year old, Minnesota raised, New York City transplant planning a destination wedding in Napa, California. I am balancing my love for the environment and my hubby-to-be’s love for tradition to create our “green wedding in disguise.” Our wedding will include local food and wine, antique touches and lots of love and laughter. When wedding planning isn’t taking up my free time (and money) I love to read, cook, workout, watch baseball and travel! Follow along in my adventure as I attempt to plan an eco-friendly and socially responsible wedding (with eco-oblivious Mr. Pinot Noir).
Please welcome our latest beverage to the hive, Miss Espresso!
Miss Espresso, Corona/Big Bear, CA
Age & Occupation: 23, Recent Grad & Professional Interviewee
Fiance’s Age & Occupation: 22, Maintenance Technician
Engagement Date: December 21, 2007
Wedding Date: October 2008
Venue: Outside a rustic bed & breakfast in Big Bear Lake
About Me: I’m a lover of all things good: coffee, music, travel, rain, and of course- my handsome fiance! I’m a full believer in the “Life is Short,” mantra - and therefore, eat lots of dark chocolate. I’m a Geographer by degree and nerd by choice. I cook to the sound of French and Portuguese music even though I speak neither. I love road trips, camping, hiking, and capturing life through the lens of my camera. Take me to Anthropologie and I may never leave. I’m a sucker for pretty packaging, bargain finds, and old movies. Mr. Espresso and I are high school sweethearts and I am so blessed to be this amazing man’s future wife. Thanks for letting me share my adventures with you!
Please welcome our first cocktail to the hive, Miss Margarita!

Miss Margarita, Boston/Los Angeles
Age & Occupation: 25 (26 next week), Healthcare Consultant
Fiance’s Age & Occupation: 26, Doctor
Engagement Date: March 21, 2007
Wedding Date: August 2008
Venue: Saddlerock Ranch, Malibu California
About Me: I grew up in Southern California, moved to Boston for college, New York for grad school, back to Boston and now I travel the northeast every week for work. When I’m not on the go, I love to read, draw, shop, sleep and spend quality time with my fiancé, family and friends. We’re long-distance planning for our “big fat brown wedding” in California and are excited to unite our Sri Lankan and Indian cultures and Buddhist and Hindu religions in a unique and modern way.

Weddingbee reader Sylvia contacted me because she’s looking for the lovely couple pictured below. Sylvia had problems receiving her photos from her wedding photographer, Justin Haller of PCH, for her 2004 wedding. When he gave her the name of lab where she could pick up her album and digital files, she was also given the digital files for another wedding. The lab has no idea who this couple is, but their wedding was labelled Sally + Lauren, March 2006, and they were possibly married at the PCH Club in Long Beach.
If you recognize any of the people in the photos below, please email me or comment below, and we’ll put you in touch with the weddingbee reader who has the digital files. Let’s tap into the power of the Weddingbee community — I’m sure this couple would love to finally receive their wedding pictures!
I flew out to LA this weekend to visit my family. Some of our OC readers organized a get together, so I decided to join them! I met up with 10 lovely bee readers at The District in Orange County, and we chatted up a storm for 4 straight hours.

reesy, sparkles, pengwen, mrs. bee, briannie, missmandy, fancy-nancy, happyocgirl, joiedevie, juliagulia, (not pictured, sarah)
I had a blast and loved meeting you guys!
It’s so exciting to see Bee readers organizing meetups all across the US! Are you planning on attending a bee meetup? Tell us about it! ![]()
