Hi Hive!
Yesterday many (most) of you noticed that the Weddingbee front page, and parts of the site went down. Two of our three servers went down, and we’ve finally restored full functionality about an hour ago. You should now be able to access the entire Weddingbee site. If not, tech suggests clearing your cache, and that should resolve any broken pages you’re still experiencing.
We’re so, so sorry for the outage! I hardly knew what to do with myself.
If you are still experiencing residual issues from yesterday and today’s outage, please let us know here in the comments, on Facebook or on Twitter. We’re here to help in any way we can! Happy Friday, Hive, and enjoy your Halloween weekend!
This past Saturday, the Austin and San Antonio bees got together for the first time, meeting halfway in historic Gruene, Texas.
Mrs. Beagle, Miss Petit Four, Mrs. Sand Dollar, Mrs. Waffle, haelmai, Mrs. Mouse
We had lunch at the super-cute Gruene River Grill and talked about everything from wedding planning to work to GLEE!
It was great seeing/meeting all of you ladies! Can’t wait for the next meetup.
It was also great to meet one of Mrs. Sand Dollar’s friends/bridesmaids, who was kind enough to take these photos. Hopefully we’ll see more of you around Weddingbee now!

VEGAS, baby! Our newest bee hails from LA and is getting married in Sin City! Say hello and happy Wednesday to Miss Mole!

Miss Mole, Los Angeles/Las Vegas
Age & Occupation: 29, Test Prep Instructor
Fiance’s Age & Occupation: 31, User Experience Architect
Engagement Date: April 2011
Wedding Date: January 2012
Venue: Wynn Las Vegas/Bouchon Bistro
About Me: I’m a Wisconsinite-turned-Angeleno who is planning a destination wedding in Las Vegas. I am passionate about education: I spent 23 (!) consecutive years in school, and now I work to help other people get into graduate programs. I love running on the treadmill, buying bath products from Lush, learning new moves in step aerobics, and exploring my neighborhood on foot. I am sometimes snobby about food, but I am rarely snobby about books. I read everything from Geoffrey Chaucer to Iris Murdoch to Chuck Klosterman to Candace Bushnell. My fiance and I are getting married on our third anniversary. We have lived together in three different states and survived three different moves, including one that was cross-country. We also live with our three year old greyhound, Tom Boonen. Apparently, I should start playing multiples of three on the roulette table. After all, I sure hit it big with my fiance!
A few weeks back, some lovely ladies gathered for a Monday night happy hour and discussed all things wedding. Yes, even those of us who are long married

“Make an elegant invitation statement without the fuss. Stylish invitation sets with matching envelopes, reception and response cards included.”
A small handful of us Chicagoans met this past Sunday. I only took one picture, and that was on my Blackberry. I’m still trying to find my camera.
We went to Panera. I walked in, late as I always seem to be, and looked around with no idea of how to find the other women. Luckily, they spotted me. I’m so glad I have my picture up on Weddingbee because I’m not very comfortable approaching people I don’t know.
We had lunch and chatted about Ms. Snax’s honeymoon. She already had her wedding photos up. While we were looking at them, we noticed the next pictures right after hers were the engagement photos for Anne, who was also at the meet!
I must admit that, most days, I feel incredibly jaded about this whole wedding-planning thing. I just want it to be over. I want the big decisions finally hammered out so I can spend all my time on my DIY projects. I will get it together, hive, I promise.
Personal image: Yay for Chicago!
Hello, hive! I am absolutely giddy about BEEing a BEE!
I have momentarily stopped bouncing around the apartment to sit down at the computer and tell you a bit about the Dalmatians.
When we were two years old, we lived down the street from each other, but it wasn’t until 16 years later that we met for the first time. Our paths finally crossed on move-in day of our freshman year of college. Since that day, we have shared numerous cartons of chocolate ice cream, watched countless episodes of The Office, and fallen deeply in love.

Our first picture together, at the freshman BBQ (hence the burger patty and cheese)

Bringing back our last adorable icon left in the dog generation of bees! Meet Miss Dalmatian!

Miss Dalmatian, Nashville, TN
Age & Occupation: 23, Pediatric Nurse
Fiance’s Age & Occupation: 23, Computer Engineer and Entrepreneur
Engagement Date: April 13, 2011
Wedding Date: May 2012
Venue: Historic Cedarwood
About Me: I am a Northern girl from Chicago who is planning a wedding filled with Southern charm in Nashville, Tennessee. I love dogs, the White Sox, Full House reruns, and anything with ruffles on it. Mr. Dalmatian is my computer-genius problem-solving fiance who is constantly teaching me new things and making me a better person. We live with our adopted pup Echo, who is very excited that his parents are getting married!
Hey there, hive! It’s Miss Raccoon! I still can’t bee-lieve it! I promise it’s just as exciting as all the wonderful bees have said!
Mr. Raccoon and I have a little over three months until our wedding, and I am thrilled to share it all with you! We are planning a central Indiana winter wedding with an interfaith Catholic service at the church Mr. Raccoon grew up in. Following that, there will be the big three—dinner, drinks, and dancing—at a winery in town.
The Raccoons
We’re kicking off this hump day with our newest bandit-like woodland creature bee! Say hello to Miss Raccoon!

Miss Raccoon, Indianapolis
Age & Occupation: 22, Student
Fiance’s Age & Occupation: 24, Graduate Student
Engagement Date: Christmas 2010
Wedding Date: January 2012
Venue: Catholic Church, Chateau Thomas Winery
About Me: I’m a wholesome Midwestern girl, TV series junkie, professional shower singer, and Anglophile. I love my fiance, crock pot cooking, my cat Heepo, going for the gusto, and all things wedding. Mr. Raccoon is pretty sweet, too! He’s a mad scientist that loves to travel. We met my first night on campus and have been inseparable since.
Get ready, y’all! It’s the first ever Texas Hill Country Bee Meet-Up!

Nor Cal in the house! Say hello to our newest bee, Miss Doe!

Miss Doe, Northern California
Age & Occupation: 24, Real Estate Assistant
Fiance’s Age & Occupation: 23, Recycling Manager
Engagement Date: December 25, 2010
Wedding Date: May 2012
Venue: Monte Verde Inn
About Me: I’m a Rat Pack fan and a Christmas nut that loves to read, good wine, cheesy ’80s movies and ’90s sitcoms. My wiener dog with an attitude problem and lazy basset hound are my constant source of entertainment. He’s a hunter and I like cooking so it’s not rare to see wild game on our dinner menu. Both of us were born and raised in a small historic farming town where our feet are still firmly planted. We have been together for nearly a decade and have shared many life experiences together, including birthdays that are only one day apart. We are two old souls that are creating our long-awaited wedding with loads of tradition that blends our two styles into rustic elegance in the foothills of Northern California.
Hive, I’m out! I can’t bee-lieve I’ve reached the end of my wedding-planning journey and am getting married today. Today I’ll bee spending the day with my loved ones as I bee-gin my life as Mrs. Cannon. (Sorry, I wanted to leave you as I came—using the word “bee” as much as possible.)
I haven’t checked the weather. It will be a bee-autiful day to me no matter what. It’s going to be fun, and I’m going to cry. I cried at the rehearsal last night, so I doubt I’ll hold it together during the real thing.
Thanks for all your help and encouragement. I don’t really have anything else to say, because as I’m writing this it’s 2:30 in the morning of my wedding and I can’t sleep and I can’t think because I’m excited/nervous/kind of crazy. Sorry for this rambling mess. Just know that I appreciate every person who has ever read a post of mine, and doubly appreciate every person who took the time to comment. This community is amazing, because it’s made up of amazing people. I love you guys.
But not quite as much as that dude I’m marrying today. Every time I try to type out how I really feel about him it ends up sounding silly and cliche. He is funny and loving. He more than puts up with my crap—he encourages it! And not only is he there when I need him, but he trusts me to be there for him. We have a balance between us that is so effortless it seems almost unremarkable, when it’s actually a dream come true. How can I not love him? He is my perfect match, and now we’ll get to stay a completed set together for the rest of our lives.

Well, hive, it is time.
I have poured my heart and soul into this planning process for the last year, and now it is finally time to see everything come to fruition.
Hive!
Ohhh, how I’ve longed to say that. And in regard to YOU, not the Umbrella Corporation as Mr. Foxy so mistakenly thought. (Reference? Anyone?!) I was in complete and utter shock when I saw the first two lines of Pengy’s email the other night and definitely reread it about 20 times to make sure I wasn’t imagining things. I mean…seriously?? I’M a bee?!?
I’m still convinced that I’m being pseudo-punk’d or that I really didn’t read my email right or that this is all a ruse. A biiiiig, elaborate ruse. That Pengy, she’s a clever one.
Like a fox!
Now…who even are these alleged foxes that have snuck into the Weddingbee hen house?
Foxy LAAAADY! Sigh. The fox icon is pure cuteness! Join me in welcoming Miss Fox to the hive!

Miss Fox, Washington DC/Havre de Grace, MD
Age & Occupation: 26, Massage Therapist
Fiance’s Age & Occupation: 28, Field Support Engineer
Engagement Date: April 18, 2010
Wedding Date: June 2012
Venue: Vandiver Inn
About Me: I’m a dancer turned massage therapist who was born and raised in New York. Alas, true love has brought me “south” where I still maintain my penchants for pretty shoes, wine, crossword puzzles, cherry blossoms, and the Mets. I own more sunglasses than a normal person should and don’t eat red meat (though I make up for it by eating my weight in sushi). I tend to be a big planner who likes to get things started early, but generally end up being indecisive and procrastinating when it comes down to it. I have a (not so) secret crush on Chris Carrabba, but my loyalty and love ultimately goes to the future hubs, of course! Together, my Foxy man and I love to discuss (read: debate) politics and current events, have Mario Kart and Scrabble duels, and just laugh. A lot. We’re hoping and planning for a laid back, fun, summery, rustic vibe to our June wedding that will be genuinely “us” – that is, if we finally make some decisions. Huzzah!
