What a fun idea Miss Lemon started! Here are ours:
Similarities:
1. We are both soooo stubborn but refuse to admit it! I find myself watching us from outside my body sometimes saying, “why are you even pushing this issue? You know you are wrong here - just back down already!” but I rarely do. I believe that he has these same out-of-body experiences…
2. We both love movies and have a knack for remembering obscure (and sometimes blatantly obvious) movie quotes. What can I say, it makes us giggle. For example, I was looking for some moisturizing body wash the other day while we were grocery shopping and I was having a hard time deciding but I was holding one bottle in my hand. After about five minutes of staring at the wall of options with no change to what I was holding Mr. Pumpkin says in his best creepy voice, “put the lotion in the basket!” I almost died laughing.* Read more…
Greetings! What a fantastic welcome! Mrs. Bee asked me to introduce myself to the class, so with nervously twitching antennae, I’ll do my best…
I was hatched and spent most of my larva years in Michigan, but came to Tucson for college. I studied English and French and grew up to be the girl who insists on spelling out every word of her text messages. Blogging is a great outlet for me because I love to write, but my attention span rivals the life expectancy of a fruit fly.
Which reminds me: Mr. Lovebug was really hoping he’d get to be Mr. Stinkbug. Or Mr. Hissing Cockroach. (Mr. Lovebug clearly doesn’t understand Weddingbee yet.)
Anyway, I will do my best to bring you fun (and hopefully funny) ideas and inspiration. I won’t lie; I’m DIY-disabled. But at the very least, I’ll try to entertain you as I stumble my way down the aisle and into Mr. Lovebug’s wings. (Can I stretch a metaphor or what?) Read more…

1. I’ve never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I love telling this to people and watching them try to make me eat one. Not. Gonna. Happen.
2. The only way I can swim underwater in the ocean is if I hum to myself while I’m doing it. Otherwise, I freak out about things like piranha and killer whales. And this thing:
(Mr. Lovebug doing the water tango)
Thank you so much for all of your warm welcome wishes! I am so excited to be a part of the Weddingbee community and I hope that you find my blogging to be interesting, thought provoking, helpful and above all entertaining!
One thing that I have realized while planning my wedding is that I may be in a very different place with very different options, but the basic ideas are the same. So even though I know that 99.99% of you will never even visit Regina (although you should, it really is a pretty and very friendly city!), hopefully some of my DIY and more universal ideas and advice will still help you!
Now, to answer Iris’s question on why I chose a pumpkin as my character, you may know that 2007 is the year of the Veggies on Weddingbee. So I chose pumpkin from the list of possible vegetables because I think it is a cute name, my body sort of resembles a pumpkin and I was very close to having a fall pumpkin themed wedding - so it seemed appropriate.

About Me: Mr. Pumpkin and I have been together since we were 15 and are so excited to move into the next chapter of our lives together! I will graduate from law school in early June and then we will get married on June 16th, honeymoon in Europe for 3 weeks and then move to Red Deer, Alberta into our new home and start new jobs on August 1st. Crazy I know, but we work best under pressure.
I love movies, music and I am addicted to TV. When I have some spare time I also love scrapbooking and making personalized greeting cards and above all playing Hide & Seek or Duck, Duck, Goose with my two adorable nieces!
1 :: I’m an only child and only grandchild.
2 :: I hate milk. Yuck. The smell even makes me gag.
3 :: Twice recently, I’ve referred to myself as being 25. Yeh, that means I’ve lost 1 1/2 years of my life. Where did it go? Oh, I remember… I was planning a wedding and buying/building our first house. Sheesh.
4 :: I’m always in heels. Outside of the house anyway… Hey, what’s a 5′ foot girl gonna do? Especially when Mr. BOP is 6′? So, heels it is. My feet actually hurt in flats. That can’t be good!
5 :: I don’t like scary movies. I get WAY too freaked out.
6 :: I don’t have a favorite color, I love them all ![]()

1. I was in gifted ed. in school, from 1st grade until they stopped the program in 8th grade. One year I did an independent study project on Laura Ingalls Wilder, for which my mom *made* me a pioneer dress, as well as one for my American Girl knock-off doll. ![]()
2. I eat my pizza without cheese. I <3 cheese, don’t get me wrong, just not on pizza.
3. I keep all my recipes handwritten on 3 1/2 x 5 cards in the kitchen window. And anybody can look at them and copy the recipes, but they’ll never get it quite right… because all my recipes involve secret ingredients or amounts of listed ingredients, which only I know (and I’ll never tell!). ![]()
4. I can drive a stick-shift and seem to be one of 12 girls in the entire world who can (my FMIL is another!). I don’t think I ever want to own a car that’s got an automatic transmission!
(In no particular order)
1. I have seen David Copperfield perform live 6 times! Yes, even at the risk of sounding like a dork, I used to be a big fan (throughout the 90’s).
2. I always eat things with a crust from the outside to the inside… e.g. with sandwiches, I eat around it in an even, circular fashion. I also eat my pizza crust first.
3. I have a bad memory in terms of remembering names, faces, dates, etc.
4. I am a closet germaphobe. I wash my hands constantly and refuse to touch things like escalator handrails. It makes me happy when grocery stores provide Lysol wipes to clean the shopping cart handle.
5. I read Gone With the Wind at age 11 (and liked it!).
6. I have had the same teddy bear on my bed since I was 5 years old. His name is Squeeky. I think he’s only been washed once… surprisingly this doesn’t bother my inner germaphobe. I don’t want to ruin him!
1) I love the smell of playdo, even as an adult.
2) I have to wear a bra to sleep or else I feel naked.
3) I have dreams that I leave the house without shoes on.
4) I must eat every 2-3 hours except when I’m sleeping.
5) I like to people watch.
6) I don’t enjoy eating apples but I love apple juice.
And here goes… six weird things about Miss Plumeria (but isn’t it all relative?
).
1. I sound somewhat like a little girl when I talk (voice not content, thankyouverymuch). Unless I have a cold… then I have a husky sexy woman voice. Not.
2. I was so shamefully awkward during my junior high years (braces, telescope glasses, large Disney character T-shirts and leggings with knee socks come to mind) that my MOH calls me her “ugly duckling” til this day. I suppose that’s a compliment in disguise.
3. I say certain words differently, which is the cause of much good-natured teasing by my friends. For instance, I sometimes say “BAIG” instead of “BAHG” when I pronounce, say, “shopping bag” and “draw-wing” instead of “draw-ing.” … I guess I sound better on paper.
4. My pet peeves include soap scum around the top of my dishwashing liquid soap dispenser top, drinks left too close to tabletop edges, and toe marks left from wear in my sandals.
Since it seems like the readers like the little “Interesting things about me” posts, I thought I’d post a similar one. So, I have for you the 7 reasons Mr. Kiwi is the best person for me.
1.) He has hands softer than mine. Drives me crazy, especially because he works with his hands DAILY. Sooo smooth. Soo jealous, but feels so nice.
2.) He rubs my tush to help himself fall asleep. It’s very cute.
3.) He kisses me back even when he’s sleeping.
4.) Mr. Kiwi gives me cash for lunch, even when I don’t need it or ask for it.
5.) To de-stress, he needs to cuddle. I love it.
Um, OK, here goes…
1) I like to burp.
2) I used to have purple hair (and occasionally hot pink)
3) I like to pee with the door open — too much information? Mrs. Bee said, weird and I think that qualifies.
4) Before we dated, I pulled a prank on Mr. Lily where I decorated the right-hand side of his car with porn (not alone, with a friend). He couldn’t see it and got pulled over by the cops. Oops.
5) The movie Miss Congeniality is like crack for me. It’s totally out of character, but I love that flick. I have seen it 5,783 times.
6) In college I won a burrito eating contest against a male friend. I didn’t feel too good afterwards, but dammit, I won!!!!!!!!!!
1. I love love to cook and eat really good food - my favorite snack is popcorn on the stove with truffle oil and parm cheese, but sometimes I just can’t resist velveeta and rotel tomatoes melted with tostitos!
2. I am a camera junkie - I take pictures of anything and everything - it drives Mr. Raspberry nuts.
3. I like to eat good summer tomatoes like an apple and keep the salt and pepper grinders by my side to keep applying
- I know, weird.
4. I enjoy consuming alcoholic beverages out of my camelback during the summer - people think you are drinking water, and you can take it anywhere with you.

1. I was on Teen Jeopardy when I was in high school. Yes, the real one on TV. No, I didn’t win… but I came close (2nd place). I used to get fan mail from all over the country from this… people have a strange love for Jeopardy. And when I went to college orientation that summer, some kid swore he knew me (we’d never met), then once we got on the elevator, he goes “YOU WERE ON TEEN JEOPARDY!!!” loud enough for everyone to hear. Fun times.
2. I can raise one eyebrow, like The Rock. I read about it when I was a kid and thought it would be a neat trick. Sooooo… I trained myself to do it. I’d sit in front of the mirror and raise my eyebrows while holding one down. Kinda weird in theory, but it worked.
3. I’ve read Gone With the Wind (and its sequel Scarlett) more than 30 times. It’s my favorite story.
4. I was my high school’s mascot. We were the Vikings. I’ve never seen a black Viking before… but it was cool nonetheless.
5. I have a freakish aversion to people touching my back or neck. It really makes me freak out a little bit.
6. I’m multiracial, with my mom descending from various European ethnic groups and part Puerto Rican. My dad’s side is black and Native American (they thought). I just found out last weekend that we’re not part Native American, we’re part Chinese.
